All the hits, Kiss 95, 7, Courtney, and Kiss in the Morning. It is time for War of the Roses. If you don't know what War of the Roses is, if you think your significant other is cheating, for some reason you call us, and we usually get answers.

00:00:42 - 00:00:43 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, we normally get to the bottom of things.

00:00:43 - 00:01:00 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm so nervous. All right, this morning we're going to Avon. Maggie is on the line, and she thinks her husband is cheating for some reason. Good morning, Maggie. Good morning. Well, welcome to the show. I know you know what War of the Roses is all about, And I hope that we can help you and hope we can get some answers for you this morning.

00:01:01 - 00:01:02 | Speaker 2:

That would be great.

00:01:02 - 00:01:11 | Speaker 3:

So before we call your husband Ellis, do I have his name right, Ellis? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Before we call Ellis, I need to know why you think he's cheating on you. Like, what is going on?

00:01:12 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 2:

You know, when we met in New Orleans at the Jazz Festival, we both loved music. We both realized we were from, you know, Connecticut. And it's like, it was so romantic. We, every year we'd go back to New Orleans. we'd dance our way through the city. I mean, this guy had a star named after me for our anniversary, you know? I mean, we used to really have something. And then when we had our daughter, it, of course, became all about her in the sense of, you know, that's what you do as a parent. But I kind of feel like we lost us. And when we dropped her off at college lately, he's been so distant checking his phone all the time kind of disappearing from time to time saying he was running errands i mean this is not the guy i married you know and i just you know how women know i feel like something's wrong okay like first of all when you're telling me about how you met

00:02:09 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 3:

like a jazz club and fell in love and he named a star after you i got the chills but now i feel like sad like my heart is hurting for you i hope he's not cheating you know what it's of course

00:02:20 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 2:

the first thing that I thought of because this is not the guy that I know and and I just kind of feel like women have a sixth sense and it's the sense I'm getting and I just feel like we didn't do a good job about keeping connected through parenting you know we really should have like made sure to take time for ourselves and do date nights and things like that but we of course adore our daughter and and you know we were just all caught up in it and i i would love to get that back you know because we really had something maggie i am gonna call him and we're gonna do

00:02:57 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 3:

this because i feel like i feel like you guys are soulmates it's such a romantic story and how you met and the fact that things are changing let's try to get some answers so maggie i'm gonna call ellis we'll you know offer him roses and oh we'll try and get some information you'll be listening in the whole time, Maggie, and if at any point you want to jump in and talk to Ellis, you can do that, or I'll just bring you in, okay? Okay. Hold on. Oh my gosh, I can't. I can't. Seriously, like, I hope this guy's not cheating. I will cry on this one if he is.

00:03:30 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 5:

We've heard a lot of War of the Roses, and this one sounds pretty romantic, this guy.

00:03:35 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I can't imagine him cheating, he's so romantic, but whatever. Okay.

00:03:43 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

hello hi is ellis there please uh this is him hey ellis what's going on man my name is justin i'm calling from flowers for you how you doing today uh i'm okay oh fantastic your day is about to get a lot better though uh ellis because we're a local flower shop here in avon and we've come across your name we want to offer you a dozen red roses a hundred percent free with a free card as Well, you know, maybe just to brighten someone's day. Congratulations, Ellis. Thank you. There's no catch. No, this is 100% free. Even gratuity is included. And we can get these flowers out today if you want to accept the roses. Okay, yeah, that's great, yeah. All right, Ellis. We're on board. I love this. So we can start here with the card. I have maybe a little bit of room to get a sentence or two in here. Anything you want to write off the top of your head? uh yeah you could just put um just because i love you just because i love you i love that all right so we got just because i love you and who is going to be the lucky one getting these flowers today i'm just gonna go to my wife maggie your wife maggie oh she's gonna love these i'm telling you they are gorgeous all right i need to jump in ellis

00:04:59 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 1:

It's Courtney. The florist is Gavin. It is KISS 95.7. You are on the air, Ellis.

00:05:06 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 4:

What?

00:05:07 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 1:

You're on the radio. I need to let you know that. You're on something called War of the Roses. Okay. And if you're not familiar with that, if somebody thinks their significant other is cheating, they call us. Your wife, Maggie, is also on the line, and she's been listening in. Maggie, do you want to talk to Ellis?

00:05:25 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Alice, I just feel like we were losing each other, you know? And I don't know. I felt like we maybe needed something to kind of shake us both up into looking at what we have and whether we want to hang on to that.

00:05:43 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

Maggie thinks you're cheating. Sorry, Maggie, I had to get it out. Alice, Maggie thinks you have a girlfriend because your behavior's been strange and distant.

00:05:52 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

No, you thought it was, no, no, not at all. It's just, I mean, our daughter recently went to college and I dropped her off. And so, you know, we're kind of empty nesters now. Right. And we just don't really have a lot in common anymore, I feel like.

00:06:05 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 4:

Is that what you really think?

00:06:09 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah, honey.

00:06:11 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 4:

Don't you remember what it used to be like when you would sing to me on my birthday, when you named a star after me on our anniversary and we met in New Orleans and we went back every year on that date and danced through the whole city?

00:06:28 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

I just, I don't know. I just feel like we don't have a lot in common. Well, maybe we need to get back to that. I don't really know how, really. I mean.

00:06:38 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 1:

You know what? I'm going to help you out, Alice, because sometimes it is tough. Like, you lose that connection. You're like, how do I reconnect? Here's what I'm going to do, because I really feel like you guys, I don't know, the whole, Maggie told us about meeting at the jazz club and I just, you sound like a romantic, awesome guy. Maggie wants to reconnect. This happens a lot to people when they become empty nesters. They look around and realize they have nothing in common. You guys have a lot in common. So what we're going to do is, first and foremost, we're going to pick up the tab. You can go to couples counseling if you decide you want to, to reconnect, have somebody there to mediate it, give you some great ideas on how to reconnect. We're going to pay for that. And then what I'd like to do is send you guys to a jazz club in the city, in new york a jazz club with dinner you guys can reconnect over jazz have a great romantic meal and we will pick up the tab for that are you guys up for that i'm totally up for it that's really nice of you guys yeah i'm so excited i'm so excited for you guys all right so that's what we're gonna do we're gonna send you guys to the city a romantic weekend at a jazz club with dinner on us oh my gosh maggie thank you so much for calling us and i can't i cannot wait till you
