More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today. It's Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. You know what time it is. It's second date update time.

00:01:33 - 00:01:40 | Speaker 7:

This is where we figure out why you are not getting a hold of a person that you went on a first date with and you on a second date.

00:01:40 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 5:

Yep. So let's say good morning to David. Hello, David. Hi, good morning. Hey, man. So tell us about Kelsey. I know you emailed in, but, like, how did you guys meet? And then what was the vibe? And then, like, what did you do for the first date?

00:01:57 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 2:

Okay, well, I met Kelsey on Plenty of Fish. It's a dating app. I don't know if you're familiar. Yeah, I met her there. I liked her profile from the get-go. She was looking for something. I liked that she was up front. She was looking for something more serious. She wasn't looking just to hook up. A lot of people go on that site just to hook up. Sure. So I was pretty excited when I found her profile. She had great pictures on there. and she had a great personality so we started talking and messaging back and forth for a few weeks and we hit it off um so we decided to meet up and she actually suggested ramen which i got super excited about because it's literally my favorite food yeah four times a week yeah so when she said that i was like oh well this is going to be perfect she's the one already you know so um so we go on the date and everything was fine i thought um we had a great time she was laughing we were conversating there weren't like too many awkward pauses or anything like that okay um and then you know after the date uh i dropped her off everything felt great and then after the date she kind of just ghosted me and i didn't understand why because everything was great i don't know like she's really disappeared yeah she's gone and i i can't figure out why because I literally retraced all my steps from that night. Complete gentleman, paid for the meal. I don't know. I was engaged in what she had to say. And nothing, nothing at all.

00:03:24 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 7:

You're very serious. Sounds like you've been analyzing every move.

00:03:27 - 00:03:29 | Speaker 5:

Isn't that what we do? The old reverse engineer?

00:03:30 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 7:

I think, well, it's more like, I feel like that with women than men, but.

00:03:33 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 5:

No, no, no. When we, dude, David, back me up. When we meet a girl we're really into, like you're trying so hard not to screw that up. At least I am. I don't know.

00:03:43 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, 100%. Like, that's when you're the most interested. Like, you know, you're not trying to mess up a good thing.

00:03:49 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 5:

I always used to tell Sandy that. Like, if a dude wants to hang out with you, he will find a way.

00:03:55 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 7:

Well, that was also on Sex and the City. They're like, if they want to hang out with you, they will. They will. Absolutely. They find a way. And if they don't, then they're not interested.

00:04:04 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 5:

All right, let's find a way for David. We can have more bowls of ramen, which sounds delicious right now, by the way.

00:04:09 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:04:10 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 5:

Okay, so we're going to call her. You know the deal. We'll have you on mute. We'll see what she says, okay? Okay. All right, bud. Hang on for a song. We'll make the call next. Second date update. Star 101.3. More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today it's Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. We are in the middle of second date update. We've been chatting with David, who's been holding. David, are you there? Yes. Okay. It is time to mute. We're going to call Kelsey, who you met online and who was ghosted after your first date. We're going to figure out why, because we like her. Let's see what's up. Go ahead and go back on mute, bud. Here we go.

00:04:49 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 7:

Hello? Hi, may I speak with Kelsey, please? Yes, who is it? Hi, Kelsey. It's Marcus and Corey from Star 1013.

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 1:

Hey.

00:04:59 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Hi.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 2:

This is a radio station, and we do a morning show in the Bay Area.

00:05:05 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 6:

Yes. You don't listen to our show, do you? I don't. Obviously not. It's cool.

00:05:11 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 2:

That's cool. You should, though.

00:05:12 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 6:

Hey, I'm always here to recruit listeners.

00:05:14 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 2:

We're tons of fun.

00:05:16 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 6:

We are fun.

00:05:17 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 2:

Okay, great.

00:05:17 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 6:

Great. Not why we're calling. So, we do a dating segment called Second Date Update, and we wanted to ask you if you're cool to talk about it on the air about a date that you just went on with a guy named David. He would love to see you again. He's feeling ghosted. We want to get your vibe. So what can

00:05:37 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 5:

you tell us? Sure. So I met him on an app. I was excited to meet him in person. And like, you know, it seemed like we had a lot in common. And so the problem arose when we were like halfway through the date so he noticed a woman sitting near us and he started like going off on how fat she was and like yeah no it wasn't good and he said she should be yeah he was like she should be embarrassed to be eating in public and he would not stop talking about this poor woman and like i don't know i just felt like he was really insensitive and i just can't see myself being with someone that's you know mean and petty like that okay uh yeah i mean that's kind of

00:06:26 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 6:

jarring on your first date so um yeah kelsey actually we've got we've got david on the phone he's listening we're trying to to be fair we're trying to turn this into a teachable moment sorry so oh yes david are you there yeah i'm here time out can i just say something

00:06:45 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 4:

yeah sure love to hear it okay we were eating dinner you know we ordered you know enough food for the both of us appetizers and the ramen and you know edamame and a little dessert after okay she was by herself and it was i you see like overweight people all the time but this woman was like morbidly obese overweight and for me it just struck me you know a little differently than just seeing someone kind of overweight in public because she was like wearing like skimpy clothes showing a lot of herself um and i don't know i just felt like yeah but kelsey would be on the same page you you keep this keep this stuff ordered so much food and i don't know i just felt like keep that stuff to yourself none of your business yeah i know but the reason i commented on is because she was like right next to us and she was like i don't know making all this noise and she was eating like I had a hard time breathing for me I just felt like I know she's allowed to eat but I just felt uh that Kelsey would be on the same page as me because you know on her profile she would show pictures of her at the gym and hiking and we discussed how like uh you know healthy living uh it was so important to us so I just felt like I would comment and that she would agree with me that you know this woman needs help and that you know she she shouldn't be out eating

00:08:04 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 5:

that like like no no no no meal prepping or something at home no that woman has a right to do whatever she wants and my being into health and fitness has no like connection to that and also it doesn't mean it's a path to judge other people and be rude no all of that no hey hang on

00:08:25 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 6:

you guys hang on you didn't even ask if there was going to be no no kelsey i'm not even we're not

00:08:34 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 2:

even doing it point taken no that guy's okay no you see what i mean i do yeah that's insane

00:08:41 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 6:

we're gonna let you go thank you for being awesome thanks for being on the show i hope you still listen she didn't listen before well no but she can't listen now 101.3 on your fm dial also available on the iheart radio app okay thanks okay you're the best hang on a minute hang on

00:08:57 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 2:

Okay.

00:08:58 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 6:

Wow. People never cease to amaze me.

00:09:01 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 2:

Oh, insensitive they can be?

00:09:03 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. Totally. That was outside voice. Second date update, 7.05 weekday mornings, replays at 9.05. You can always get to the podcast on the iHeartRadio app. Go look for Marcus and Corey, second date update, and binge listen.
