More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today it's Star 101.3. It's back once again. Second date update. Here we go. You go on a first date, of course.

00:00:54 - 00:00:57 | Speaker 2:

Yes, and then somebody disappears.

00:00:57 - 00:00:57 | Speaker 3:

Right.

00:00:57 - 00:01:00 | Speaker 2:

You don't hear from the person again, and we want to get you a second date.

00:01:00 - 00:01:04 | Speaker 3:

Usually there's a ghoster and a ghostie. Sometimes it's a breadcrumb.

00:01:04 - 00:01:05 | Speaker 2:

What does that mean?

00:01:05 - 00:01:09 | Speaker 3:

Sometimes you get zombied. Breadcrumbing is when they leave you just interested enough.

00:01:10 - 00:01:10 | Speaker 2:

Like emojis?

00:01:10 - 00:01:21 | Speaker 3:

Yes. Sorry, Gary, we're working out your worst nightmare here live on the air. Our fault. Gary, you there? Okay. Okay, let's switch to helpful mode, Corey. My bad.

00:01:22 - 00:01:26 | Speaker 2:

Yes, we're going to try and get you a second date. We're going to figure out what the bugaboo is.

00:01:26 - 00:01:30 | Speaker 3:

So I'm seeing here from the email, you actually went on two dates already.

00:01:31 - 00:01:40 | Speaker 4:

I did, yeah. Me and this awesome girl, Rachel, we went on two dates, yeah. We should call this third date of date. It's third date of date. Yeah, I was going to say.

00:01:42 - 00:01:47 | Speaker 3:

So, okay, tell us how you guys met, and then tell us about your dates. Sure thing, yeah.

00:01:48 - 00:01:50 | Speaker 4:

By the way, if I'm laughing, it's just that it doesn't hurt as much, so.

00:01:51 - 00:01:53 | Speaker 3:

It's laughing to mask the pain.

00:01:54 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 4:

Exactly. So, yeah. Yeah. Like I said, went on two dates. And honestly, I would love to go on a third. The thing is, now I'm ghosted after the second, which, you know, weird. So we met on Hinge, like, you know, so I've been chatting, chatted for about a week and then asked her out. And the first date went really well. I, you know, wanted to kind of go a little old school, a little old school and ask her to, you know, have a nice picnic because, you know, that way we don't get distracted by having to watch a performance or anything. you know it's it's fun like you know you start with the with the food and then what i normally do is i bring like a little bottle of champagne and i'm like if it's going really well i'm like hey i have this bottle of champagne too and you know uh kind of do a little romantic gesture that way excellent we were in golden oh yeah we went to golden gay park it was pretty awesome um conversation flowed really easily lots of laughs and then next weekend we met up again uh went to the museum of modern art in the city and again super fun time laughed at you know they've got some pieces that are more serious and some that we didn't quite get and you know got the laugh at those uh total vibe and so yeah i'm just confused why she's not responding to any of my texts i i mean i even called i left a voicemail but no old school yeah check out gary gary's

00:03:24 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 3:

trying to make it happen i appreciate that all right um you gotta put in the effort so here's we're gonna do Gary you're invested we're gonna call Rachel and see what she thought of the dates maybe she's just maybe she's been busy who knows I don't know but let's give her a call let's play a song and we'll give her a call we'll have you mute your phone so you can listen in okay okay all right that's next it's second date update star 1013 more variety from the 2000s the 90s and today it's star 1013 it's Marcus and Corey we're in the middle of second date update we've been talking to gary this is actually third date update for him yes gary has gotten past the gauntlet of the second date and now now rachel has disappeared did i get that right gary yeah you did i'm sorry sucks when i say it out loud all right you get your phone let's call her and see what's up okay all right dude here we go

00:04:14 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 2:

00:04:27 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 3:

one one three rachel uh-huh uh-oh that was very inspector gadget of you that's very weird

00:04:35 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 2:

yeah i know what this is about you do great what is it about i do this would be easy gary Is it Gary? Jeez. Again, I can go home. She can fill in for me.

00:04:47 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 3:

Rachel, so you're familiar with Second Date Update, I'm guessing?

00:04:50 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 2:

I am very familiar. I really enjoy listening to it, usually.

00:04:54 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 3:

What if you're the star?

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

Are you okay being on it? Yeah.

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 5:

it's fine. Gary? Yep. Hello. Hey there. Hi. Hey. Hey, Gary. Hi, Rachel. Hey. So, Gary's telling

00:05:09 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 4:

us you guys got to date number three. Almost. Almost. Well, yeah, we went on two dates. Did something go wrong? So. He's feeling ghosted, so I'm just being honest. And I get it, and I'm

00:05:24 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 6:

really sorry. I'm just really bad with confrontation, and I wasn't exactly sure how to bring this up. Um, so yeah. So on our first date, the picnic date, I thought that was a wonderful idea. You know, um, I don't get invited to picnics very often, but the way I was raised, you only wear sweatpants at home or in the gym. And Gary showed up to the picnic in sweatpants.

00:05:50 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 2:

Okay. Well, it's a, it's a picnic. I mean, I think it can be casual for a picnic.

00:05:54 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 4:

Were they those cool 2023 sweatpants, or did he just look like he got kicked out of 7th grade gym class? Gym balls.

00:06:02 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 6:

Quite honestly, to me, it just looked like he had rolled out of bed. And even though the picnic itself was very planned, I don't know. It just made me feel like he didn't put as much care into it as, in my mind, you should when it's a first date. You know, like, this is the first time we're seeing each other in person.

00:06:21 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 4:

But you gave him a pass because you, I mean, you went on.

00:06:24 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 6:

I give him a pass because he's attractive. Okay, don't get me wrong. He looks like his pictures. He's a very attractive man. And, you know, he's pretty funny. So I figured, you know what? Maybe he just got a picnic. He didn't want to get, like, his nice clothes. Dirty. Okay? Okay. I feel that. I get that. You know, even though it was the first time we were seeing each other, I give him a pass for that. However, okay, our second date at the museum, right? The museum, right?

00:06:50 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 4:

Right.

00:06:52 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 6:

He wore sweatpants again. Were they the same ones or different ones? They looked like the same ones. No. I mean, so by that moment in time, I'm sorry, but it's like, you know, he got a pass for sweatpants at the park, but sweatpants at the museum. I mean, I was dressed pretty nicely. You know, I had a cute little dress on, you know, little shawl. I had some heels on. And here I am walking around this museum. I mean, yeah, some of the pieces of art we had little conversations about and laughed about, but part of it, I was almost laughing at his pants. And I mean, I know that makes me sound petty and like a horrible person, but come on.

00:07:35 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 4:

Okay.

00:07:35 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 6:

Gary.

00:07:36 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 4:

Gary, you've lost me now. Sweatpants for two dates. What's the deal?

00:07:43 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 5:

Well, I'll say they're comfortable. So I first want to say, I'm sorry, but those, I do like to be comfortable, especially when I'm in public, when I'm, you know, in nervous situations, like, yeah, I wear them every day. So what? Who really, I mean, who really cares about clothes, right? It's more about the personality, more about the connection.

00:08:08 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 4:

Rachel does.

00:08:10 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 6:

I'm sorry. And again, maybe this makes me a petty, horrible person, but I care about clothes. I care about appearance. You know, if we're out together, I don't want to look like a million dollars while you look like, you know, you went to, you know, the store, like the corner store for some milk. That just doesn't work for me. Okay.

00:08:27 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

Now that we've got some self-awareness here, Gary, can you buy some jeans or something?

00:08:33 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 5:

I mean, look, if I had to go somewhere nice, yeah, I'd get a nice pair of pants. Like, if the occasion came up, but the situation just hasn't come up. I don't know if it, I don't know when it will. I mean, the museum.

00:08:46 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 6:

You don't think going to museums is an occasion to, like, buy jeans or pants?

00:08:53 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 5:

No. I mean, no. It's a museum.

00:08:58 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 6:

Gary, you're a really nice guy, and yes, you are hot, but I'm sorry. That just isn't for me. I just don't think we'd work out as a couple.

00:09:07 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I figured. Hang on. Oh, Gary.

00:09:11 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

No sweatpants.

00:09:12 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 3:
