Picture a nurse in scrubs. Got it? Okay. Now picture a nurse wearing a windbreaker and rain boots, because those can be scrubs too. In a suit at a policy meeting. Also scrubs. A high-biz vest and a hard hat? Definitely scrubs. Sun hat and bug spray? Scrubs, Florida style. Jeans and a tee? You guessed it. Still scrubs. You might think you know what a nurse looks like, but it's not what they wear, it's how they care. For us, and for all of Florida. The Florida Center for Nursing. Recognizing all our state's nurses.

More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today, Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey bringing it back.

00:00:36 - 00:00:46 | Speaker 2:

Second date update. We try to get you a second date. You went on a first one, you thought everything was great, and now you're feeling ghosted.

00:00:47 - 00:00:48 | Speaker 4:

Looks ahead of Greg. Greg, are you there?

00:00:48 - 00:00:49 | Speaker 3:

Yes, I am.

00:00:49 - 00:00:51 | Speaker 4:

Now, did you get ghosted, Greg? Have we decided?

00:00:52 - 00:01:44 | Speaker 3:

You kind of explained the whole situation. I guess that's what the bit is. But, yeah, you've kind of named what happened to me. I went on a date. It was good. I thought it went really well. I met this woman online but not through a dating app, through Facebook, although I guess that started as a dating app or whatever. But it turned out, you know, mutual friends, and then you're on some thread and you're commenting, and we kind of got talking that way back and forth. Okay. I find out that she and I went to the same high school, although a few years apart, I went before her. And, you know, I've been through that. I asked her on a date. We went out on a date, you know, just a weekday evening, early evening. We went to the yard house, just got a couple drinks, a couple apps, hung out. I thought it was a great time. And then she has, as you said, ghosted me.

00:01:45 - 00:01:48 | Speaker 4:

Now, Greg, are you of the age where like 5 o'clock is an appropriate dinner time?

00:01:49 - 00:01:54 | Speaker 3:

No, no. It wasn't 5. What's wrong with that? It was a little later than that.

00:01:54 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 4:

I mean, we get up stupid early, so I got an excuse, but I do like happy hour pricing, though. I'm not going to lie. I do.

00:02:01 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:02:02 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 4:

Anyway, sorry, Greg. Back to your date.

00:02:04 - 00:02:08 | Speaker 3:

No, no. Maybe on the second date, we'll go earlier, and then we can get more. There you go.

00:02:09 - 00:02:14 | Speaker 4:

Different prices. So she's gone. No return calls, no return texts. Maybe she's gone, yes.

00:02:14 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 3:

Maybe she's left the country or something, but I don't know.

00:02:16 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 4:

But I mean, I'm sorry. I meant that metaphorically. She's not responding to you. Yeah, certainly.

00:02:20 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 3:

No, no. As far as I know, she could be anywhere.

00:02:24 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 4:

Right.

00:02:25 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 2:

Maybe she joined Greenpeace.

00:02:26 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 4:

Maybe.

00:02:27 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 2:

She's saving the whales. She's got no cell service.

00:02:29 - 00:03:13 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Let's just stay focused. I'll tell you what, Greg. We're going to call Danielle and see how she thought the date went. And ultimately, hopefully get you a second date. But let's give it a shot. Can you hang on the line? Sure can. Okay. We're going to call her after this song. Let's get ready. It's a second date update. Star 103. More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today. Star 101.3, it's Marcus and Corey. We are in the middle of second date update. We've been chopping it up with Greg, who went to the yard house in San Jose and had drinks with Danielle, and she has ghosted. We haven't quite figured out maybe he... I don't want to say you did something wrong, Greg, but the way these things typically go, there's always a common denominator, and it's typically the dude.

00:03:13 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 2:

Did you say we're chopping it up?

00:03:15 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, is that okay?

00:03:16 - 00:03:17 | Speaker 2:

Is that a saying?

00:03:18 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 4:

That's a thing, right, Greg? Chopping it up?

00:03:20 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 3:

i've heard that before in cooking uh context uh but no i guess i guess it makes sense mixing it

00:03:27 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 4:

up chopping it up you made that up wow dude the things you fixate on are fascinating can we get back to saying maybe in the new colloquialism i don't want to interrupt the cory show but can we so let's call her let's see what's up great do me a favor mute your phone and let's give her a call hang on here we go

00:03:47 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 2:

hello hi may i speak with danielle please speaking hi danielle it's marcus and cory

00:04:01 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 3:

from star 1013 hey danielle oh hi how are you i'm i'm okay i question uh would it be all right

00:04:12 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 4:

to chat with us on the radio for a sec are you available um is this a good time well thank you sure so we're we're doing a segment called second date update that we do every day on our show i don't know if you i don't even know if you listen or if you know what that is i know your show and i listen sometimes but i actually don't know um okay so typically somebody goes on a first date and then they feel like they got ghosted for whatever reason and they don't have a concrete reason why, we call their date to find out what the issue was. And somebody called us about you. Oh. What can you tell us about your date with Greg?

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Greg. Yes. Yeah.

00:05:00 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 1:

I, I was really excited about the date. Um, I thought it was going to be a really good time. I was actually hoping, you know, that it was kind of like one of those things that felt really promising and could become something because we had a lot in common and I, you know, I found them really cute. Right. And you know, like also when you're not like trying to date anyone and like people that somehow fall into your lap.

00:05:26 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:05:26 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly. And so I was like, all right, this seems actually like it has potential. And I really love the Yardhouse, which is where we ended up going. And we shared like three appetizers or something. And it was going really well. And then towards the end of the date, we started talking about like high school and that it felt like years ago and such a long time ago. And I said something along the lines of like, you know, it's like it's just funny. i thought that you know by now i'd have like two kids or something you know but life is like that and like oh well um and he says well you've still got a good couple of years left oh yeah that yeah and that oh for like many reasons um obviously as a woman obviously as somebody who just frankly like maybe in like a joking way but like vulnerably expressed that i wish that my life were different that i was going to already have had a family you know that like they're in a way to you know be a little bit more vulnerable to things that i wanted or thought i was going to have and um he wasn't at all receptive to that clearly and it felt like a dig about you

00:06:44 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 2:

know you know it's funny when it comes to men my friend had a doctor when she was pregnant and she was 36 and he's like well you are of advanced maternal age and she said if you ever say that again i'm gonna punch you in the face i mean when my wife was 37 when she had our daughter and they

00:07:00 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 4:

called her geriatric one time that's awful that's awful i mean meeting a lady in her 30s with no kids single like some guys would call that a blessing if i'm being honest yeah but it's also

00:07:12 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

like again like the way that it came out you know it's just like come on like you still got a couple good years left like what what is like as though i'm just going to deteriorate into the ground because i'm in my 30s and also like you're not hearing what i just said which is that i wish i

00:07:26 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 5:

had a family already by this point in my life like you're here's the thing danielle um i hate to cut you off so so greg is listening right now i think we could take this as a teachable moment greg i

00:07:38 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 3:

think i heard i did not sense the vulnerability that i thought she was joking around too and i tried to play back to her i thought it was in a humorous vein and we were just kind of kidding around with each other so i apologize it didn't seem vulnerable to me i she looks young enough to have i don't even know what i don't want to get myself into more trouble it already is greg i never said geriatric or anything like that i mean i was just all right i thought i was joking around it didn't go over well i guess greg stop talking for a sec

00:08:13 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 5:

back to you danielle can we salvage this i mean i'm feeling some self-awareness here

00:08:18 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 1:

any interest i mean i wish that even this apology felt a little bit more like hey that was totally a miscommunication i'm so sorry can i make it up to you but like i'm not even hearing that you know i guess i don't know for me being an older woman is hard you know like i don't know so um i guess i don't know it's just rubbed me the wrong way um at this point and i don't really know how to salvage that unfortunately it's no second date for me fair enough hang on that's a

00:08:50 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 5:

lost cause yep uh man that dude said like one dumb thing and he was out you're done if that had happened to me dude if my wife had tapped out after i said one dumb thing she would have tapped out a thousand times you would have been divorced a long time ago anyway all right well

00:09:05 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 2:

I don't even know if you would have made it to the altar.

00:09:08 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 5:
