More variety from the 2000s to the 90s. And today, it's Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. And you know what's up. It's time for a second date update. Here we go.

00:01:24 - 00:01:30 | Speaker 4:

That's when you go on a date. Great. And you think it went swell. Right. And then you don't hear from them again. And so we try to get you a second date.

00:01:31 - 00:01:37 | Speaker 6:

Ghosting sucks. We all know this. Online dating is difficult. Let's try to bring some people together. Greg is on the phone. Greg, good morning.

00:01:38 - 00:01:39 | Speaker 5:

Hey, good morning, guys. Thanks for having me.

00:01:39 - 00:01:48 | Speaker 6:

Thank you. Thanks for calling. Let's roll with, why don't you tell us about how you and Amy met. What was her name? Amy. And then tell us about the first date.

00:01:49 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 5:

So, you know, per usual, we met on a dating app. Right. Hinge, specifically. You know, she really stood out on there. I've been on the dating apps, a lot of them, for a while. And, yeah, she stood out. You know, she seemed, like, really smart, funny, down to earth. So I messaged her, and we messaged each other back and forth. You know, really hit it off. I felt like we had a lot in common. And then so we decided to meet up. Both love movies. We could talk about them for hours. So, you know, we decided to go meet up for lunch in South Salido. and uh you know we also love the water so we thought that would be a good spot sure and um yeah i don't know i i felt like everything went like really well like it was like a smooth day like we laughed we talked about movies i guess i i like i thought a second date would just be like a no-brainer like i really thought we had a great time and uh but now of course you know i'm on the show so i can't get a hold of her i have no idea what's going on huh and you can't think of anything

00:02:50 - 00:02:55 | Speaker 3:

that might have, like, you pushed her in the water or something? You said she liked the water.

00:02:56 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 5:

No, I didn't push anybody in the water. But, you know, we're on dates. We're nervous. We say stuff. I don't know if I said something that, like, totally threw her off. Or, you know, and I'm just thinking, like, oh, this is just a normal conversation.

00:03:10 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 6:

He's probably been back engineering his date for the last week. Totally. Let's help him out. So she's completely disappeared, huh?

00:03:17 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, like, I sent her, you know, I'm trying not to be too insane, But, like, you know, I even left her a voicemail. Like, I never leave voicemails just in case, you know. I sent her a couple text messages, and, yeah, I just got nothing.

00:03:31 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 4:

Well, we'll figure it out.

00:03:33 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 6:

Let's regroup, everyone. We're going to play a song, and then we will call Amy, okay? We'll do it after this. It's a second date update on Star 101.3. Hang on. More variety from the 2000s, the 90s. And today it's Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. Second date update is on. been chatting with Greg who met Amy on Hinge I mean, to Greg's credit, he's trying to figure out what he did wrong I appreciate the honesty By your estimation, Greg, great date?

00:04:01 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, like I thought it was a really, really good first date

00:04:04 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 6:

There was lunch Great conversation Yeah, you guys love movies I just jotted down some notes from when we were talking Okay, let's just call her Let's call her and see what she thought about the date and let's see if we can grab a second date uh greg go back on mute here we go okay

00:04:22 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 4:

hello i may speak with amy please this is amy hi amy it's marcus and cory from star 1013

00:04:37 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 3:

oh morning hi hi i don't listen to your show sorry well thank you for your honesty i'll take

00:04:45 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

that okay are you actually you're like from a radio station yes do you mind talking with us about a date you recently went on yes please um this is so funny uh sure yeah i don't see why not

00:05:00 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

Thank you.

00:05:01 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 5:

So we want to ask you about your date with Greg. Okay. He dug you a lot. He thought you were cool. He'd love to take you out again. He said he's left texting, even a voicemail, and he's feeling ghosted.

00:05:18 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 7:

What happened?

00:05:19 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. What did he do?

00:05:21 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, no. Greg was great. He was really charming and fun. We had a great date. Um, it was just like, I feel like he, at one point he said something really kind of weird and unsettling. And from that moment on, I wasn't, I wasn't sure about what he say. Yeah. So like we had, we had just finished lunch. I don't know what Greg told you so far, but we had just finished lunch and, um, we were, we were going to order dessert or we were thinking about dessert and then, and we were talking about like movies and stuff and whatever. But then out of nowhere, Greg goes, did you know, statistically speaking, that your significant other is the most likely person to murder you? Like, like out of nowhere, like apropos of nothing. Yeah. And he's not wrong now.

00:06:13 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 5:

Like, oh, my God, that's actually true. Here we go.

00:06:16 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 7:

OK, that may be that might be true. But like, who says that, especially on a first date?

00:06:21 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

Tell me you watch Dateline without telling me you watch Dateline, Corey.

00:06:24 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 7:

It's true. I was just kind of like creeped out, to be honest. Right. And just like powered through until I could leave. I get it. That is kind of a weird thing to just blurt out.

00:06:34 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 5:

So Amy, Greg is on the phone. Greg. Greg. Greg, are you serious? Yeah. Greg. You can see how that might be weird, Greg.

00:06:46 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. I just want to say like, Amy, well, first of all, like I had a great time with you. um i really really enjoyed your company and i was honestly just nervous i was just trying to keep the conversation going like i love true crime and like you know i wasn't trying to freak you out it just kind of like popped in my head like we were kind of talking about a movie about a serial killer from what i remember and like that's why it kind of came out like i felt like it was in line with our conversation i wasn't trying to you know just bring up this like random fact you know Obviously, I was trying to stay within the context of what we were talking about. It's really unfortunate. I'm really sorry. Yeah.

00:07:27 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 5:

It's really unfortunate that Corey's already taken by me being honest.

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

Aww.

00:07:31 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 5:

Because.

00:07:32 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 1:

I love that stuff.

00:07:35 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 5:

So you were nervous. He was nervous. Greg was nervous, you guys.

00:07:39 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, nervous. I promise you I'm not a creep. Totally normal person. I do love true crime, obviously. We both do.

00:07:45 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 5:

Amy, did you have a good time?

00:07:47 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 7:

I did, and I did. Yeah. Okay. So can we get a second date? I feel like now that I am remembering the context in which you said that, it makes a lot more sense. So, yeah, I would say yes to a second date as long as we're in a public place.

00:08:07 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 5:

Yay! Now everybody's in on it. I like it.

00:08:10 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 7:

You know what that means? We got a win.

00:08:14 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 5:

This is the weirdest win of all time. But all right. I like it. I know you do. Okay, you two. Hang on. Go kill some time. We'll be right back. No! Boom! Nailed it! Nailed it! Nailed it!

00:08:31 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 6:

Hold, please. Cute.

00:08:33 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 3:

I love when we get a win, because it rarely happens.

00:08:36 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 6:
