Second date update. This is where you go on a first date. You think it was swell, and yet you can't get a second date. So we pop in and see if we can do that for you.

Okay. Why don't we start? You tell us how you guys met and then how the first date went, and we'll take it from there.

Well, we met on Hinge. We decided to go out after messaging quite a bit. You know, I really felt like there was a good connection already when we were just chatting online and messaging each other. Sure. And then when we finally met up, I mean, she was even more gorgeous in person. Beautiful black hair. everything seemed like we were perfect. We went out in Redwood City. We went to Alhambra Gastropub. And, you know, we were joking the whole time. We liked the same movies. We talked about Ant-Man and Scream. It's actually kind of funny. We had a good laugh about the fact that we're not really into the Academy Award type movies, but fun movies like that. I get that. It was so fun. Yeah.

What has happened since the date? Well, how did it end, first of all?

Like I said, I thought everything was going well. The conversation flowed perfectly, and I was feeling it. And so I went in for a kiss, and she gave me a hug. How was your first date? Yeah. I didn't want to think too much of it, right? Like, you know, everybody's got their kind of time frame, so I didn't think much of it. Mine's 15 minutes. I went to message her the next day just to tell her how much fun I had, and thanking her for bringing her fun. And she just liked it and no response or anything.

We had a conversation about the thumbs up emoji and how some people can take it as dismissive. Is that how you felt?

I felt like she was giving me the stiff arm. Sure.

Great, great. His name is James. What can you tell us about your date with James?

Oh, boy. Wow.

This is a first. Yeah.

And I thought James was really cute in his photos, and we chatted online, and our convo was really good, and I have this little rule with myself that I really make it a point to not, like, dig into somebody's social media before I meet them. You know, I know that there are people that do that. It's kind of, you're tempted by it, but I really try not to.

I think it's everybody except for you.

Yeah, but I get what she's saying.

She wants to get to know him in real time.

Slightly gangster. I like it.

Yeah, I'm going into the date like a little bit blind in a way, but we already have a connection from chatting on the app. And that is sort of what got me on this date with James. He showed up wearing like head-to-toe black. I mean like black long-sweeped shirt with a black short sleeve underneath, He's black pants, black socks, black shoes, and you guys are going to think I'm sounding really petty, but I thought it was a little strange and off-putting, and I got through the date, and then afterwards, I was really curious what his style was like outside of that, and I found his Instagram, and he always wears black, you guys. Like, I mean, all black and every single photo of him is basically wearing like the exact same.

Is that weird? Is that weird? Yeah. What's the big deal with that?

I mean, it's just odd. It's really odd to me. And it left me with a bad feeling. And I don't know, like, it's a little low effort. Like, you're not even going to try. And I don't know. Like, what does that say about someone's personality, you know?

Here's the thing is, so James is listening right now. That's the thing. James, are you there?

I do kind of think it's kind of a weird thing to be hung up on.

I don't know what to say. It came across as not trying, I guess, or maybe trying too hard to be too cool or something like that.
