Why don't you tell us how you met, how the date went, and then tell us what has transpired since then.

So we, some mutual friends of ours took us up a couple weeks ago, and we hit it off, and we ended up going out to dinner in Napa. We both live in the Valley, so it was a no-brainer.

And so I thought it went super well. We seemed to connect on a lot of things, and we had great conversation. in fact it went so well that we ended up back at my apartment for some Netflix and chill if you know what I mean

that was pretty good so we ended up sort of watching movies

you know I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, I'd take care of myself.

All right. So how did it go in your apartment?

I mean, it went really good, too. Like I said, we kind of watched movies. We kind of didn't, you know. Right. But then she did leave rather suddenly, and I really have no idea exactly what happened. I'd love to go out with her again. I think we had a really great connection, chemistry, vibe, And since the date, she hasn't ghosted me and everything. She's been still pretty cool, but it's definitely not at the same speed as it was before the date.

Yeah. It seemed like things were going great, and then all of a sudden she was like, oh, sorry, I got to go.

I was like, oh, okay.

Nice. She sounds so chipper and awake. She really does. It's way too early for this. So, hey, we're doing our second date update segment. I don't know if you listen to the show or if you're familiar, but we had somebody that went on a date with you that was calling about you.

How's it going? Hi. Look, this feels like a match made in heaven. You both live in Napa. Seemed like the date went well. Made it back to the apartment. What happened? What happened? Because he's feeling, not ghosted, but like you've definitely pumped the brakes. So let's just be honest with each other. Tell me what's going on.

Okay. If I'm being totally honest, I mean, he had so much promise. We really had a great conversation. Dinner was great. Wait, wait, wait. You should have. Well, hold on.

Hold on. Yeah, we went back to his apartment for a little bit. But that's kind of where it all fell apart. His apartment looks like it was decorated by a 17-year-old boy. Like, there's old surfing posters literally taped to the wall. There was a blow-up easy chair there and a plastic coffee table. And I'm sorry. I just can't. And then at some point, we needed more vodka, so he asked me to grab it out of the fridge. And his kitchen has no stove, just a hot plate. And there was literally not one ounce of food in the refrigerator, nothing, just a few bottles of water. a jar of salsa, and half a takeout sandwich.

Are you sure you didn't go back to his dorm? I mean, this is insane. Lance, do you mind if I ask how old you are?

I'm 30.

Because, like, I had a blow-up chair when I was 21.

I got one free from the radio station.

And even then, I didn't, like, put it in my living room.

So, Lance, where are we at here?

So, I mean, yeah, that's what it is. I don't see what the big deal is, though. Like, I'm not a materialistic guy. Like, I don't spend money on stuff. It's just stuff. Like, if it works, it works. And, I mean, we know it's not cheap living up there. So, I work as little as possible. um so i have to be really careful with my money you know i've always had this mentality that life is about experiences and so i choose to spend my time more just traveling and and surfing uh and we talked about that at dinner i mean the bottom line for me is like my apartment is just there to like sleep in and shower and eat the occasional meal and that's that's about it like i want to I spend most of my time experiencing this outside of my abode.

So, Jade, this is admirable on some level, is it not?

Yeah, I agree that stuff is just stuff. But there's all something to be said for making a good first impression. And I'm sorry, I just can't date an overgrown frat boy.

It really is. No second date for me.
