More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today it's Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. Everybody's favorite, second date update and its own.

00:01:08 - 00:01:14 | Speaker 3:

You want to know why your first date went so well and then you didn't get a second date. And that's what we try to figure out for you, hence the name.

00:01:15 - 00:01:25 | Speaker 4:

Let's say good morning to Lance. Lance, are you there? Hey, yeah, I am. How are you guys doing? Good morning, Lance. Morning. You had a date with somebody named Jade, pretty name, and it went well?

00:01:26 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it went very well.

00:01:28 - 00:01:33 | Speaker 4:

Why don't you tell us how you met, how the date went, and then tell us what has transpired since then.

00:01:34 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 5:

So we, some mutual friends of ours took us up a couple weeks ago, and we hit it off, and we ended up going out to dinner in Napa. We both live in the Valley, so it was a no-brainer.

00:01:45 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 4:

Sure.

00:01:46 - 00:02:04 | Speaker 5:

And so I thought it went super well. We seemed to connect on a lot of things, and we had great conversation. in fact it went so well that we ended up back at my apartment for some Netflix and chill if you know what I mean

00:02:04 - 00:02:05 | Speaker 4:

look out Lance Scott game wow

00:02:05 - 00:02:10 | Speaker 5:

that was pretty good so we ended up sort of watching movies

00:02:10 - 00:02:17 | Speaker 4:

you must be a devastatingly good looking man must be and humble no doubt

00:02:17 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 5:

you know I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, I'd take care of myself.

00:02:25 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 4:

All right. So how did it go in your apartment?

00:02:29 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 5:

I mean, it went really good, too. Like I said, we kind of watched movies. We kind of didn't, you know. Right. But then she did leave rather suddenly, and I really have no idea exactly what happened. I'd love to go out with her again. I think we had a really great connection, chemistry, vibe, And since the date, she hasn't ghosted me and everything. She's been still pretty cool, but it's definitely not at the same speed as it was before the date.

00:02:57 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 4:

Sure.

00:02:58 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 5:

So I'm just trying to figure out what happened.

00:03:01 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 4:

She's pumped the brakes.

00:03:03 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 3:

That's weird, too, because it's like the fact that she went back to your place and then pumped the brakes.

00:03:08 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 4:

You had something going on.

00:03:10 - 00:03:11 | Speaker 3:

Was your wife home?

00:03:12 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 5:

You're dumb. No, not married.

00:03:16 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 4:

no she's on a business trip come on it's not my first rodeo we're awful yeah all right not on the radio okay okay no all right well here's what we're gonna do i know you've been listening to the show for a while but we're gonna call jade and see what's up she will be able to hear you so just we'll play a song have you mute your phone and we'll give her a shot okay cool yeah sounds good all right dude hang back for a sec and we'll be back with it it's second date update It's Star 101.3. More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today. Star 101.3. It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing second date update. We've been talking to our man Lance. He lives in Napa, and he must have hell of a game because he got his first date, Jade, to come back to his apartment.

00:04:02 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 3:

I mean, that doesn't guarantee. No, absolutely not. You know, but it's promising.

00:04:09 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 4:

Absolutely not. So Lance, by all estimation, a great date, obviously. if you got her to come back for some Netflix and chill or whatever that was. And then the only clue we have is that she left suddenly. Is that a fact?

00:04:23 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. It seemed like things were going great, and then all of a sudden she was like, oh, sorry, I got to go.

00:04:29 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 4:

Sure.

00:04:29 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 5:

I was like, oh, okay.

00:04:31 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 4:

All right. Well, let's call her and see what's up. Can you mute your phone? Yeah. All right, bud. Hang on one second. Here we go.

00:04:43 - 00:04:44 | Unknown:

Hello?

00:04:47 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 3:

Hi, may I speak with Jade, please? This is Jade. Hi, Jade. It's Marcus and Corey from Star 1013. Hi. Oh, my God. Hi.

00:04:57 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 4:

How are you?

00:04:59 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

Good. How are you?

00:05:00 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 6:

Nice. She sounds so chipper and awake. She really does. It's way too early for this. So, hey, we're doing our second date update segment. I don't know if you listen to the show or if you're familiar, but we had somebody that went on a date with you that was calling about you.

00:05:20 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my gosh. Okay.

00:05:24 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 6:

Do you know how this works?

00:05:26 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:05:26 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I do.

00:05:27 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 6:

Great.

00:05:28 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 3:

Perfect. Like, then Lance, she knows you're on the phone.

00:05:34 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 4:

Hey. Hey, Jade.

00:05:37 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 6:

How's it going? Hi. Look, this feels like a match made in heaven. You both live in Napa. Seemed like the date went well. Made it back to the apartment. What happened? What happened? Because he's feeling, not ghosted, but like you've definitely pumped the brakes. So let's just be honest with each other. Tell me what's going on.

00:05:55 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

Okay. If I'm being totally honest, I mean, he had so much promise. We really had a great conversation. Dinner was great. Wait, wait, wait. You should have. Well, hold on.

00:06:08 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 6:

Let her speak, Lance.

00:06:10 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 2:

Hold on. Yeah, we went back to his apartment for a little bit. But that's kind of where it all fell apart. His apartment looks like it was decorated by a 17-year-old boy. Like, there's old surfing posters literally taped to the wall. There was a blow-up easy chair there and a plastic coffee table. And I'm sorry. I just can't. And then at some point, we needed more vodka, so he asked me to grab it out of the fridge. And his kitchen has no stove, just a hot plate. And there was literally not one ounce of food in the refrigerator, nothing, just a few bottles of water. a jar of salsa, and half a takeout sandwich.

00:07:00 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 3:

Are you sure you didn't go back to his dorm? I mean, this is insane. Lance, do you mind if I ask how old you are?

00:07:10 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 4:

I'm 30.

00:07:12 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 3:

Because, like, I had a blow-up chair when I was 21.

00:07:16 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 6:

I got one free from the radio station.

00:07:18 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

And even then, I didn't, like, put it in my living room.

00:07:22 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 6:

Well, hold on. Let's hear him out.

00:07:24 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 3:

Okay, I don't want to be mean. I don't want to be mean.

00:07:25 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 6:

So, Lance, where are we at here?

00:07:30 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 4:

So, I mean, yeah, that's what it is. I don't see what the big deal is, though. Like, I'm not a materialistic guy. Like, I don't spend money on stuff. It's just stuff. Like, if it works, it works. And, I mean, we know it's not cheap living up there. So, I work as little as possible. um so i have to be really careful with my money you know i've always had this mentality that life is about experiences and so i choose to spend my time more just traveling and and surfing uh and we talked about that at dinner i mean the bottom line for me is like my apartment is just there to like sleep in and shower and eat the occasional meal and that's that's about it like i want to I spend most of my time experiencing this outside of my abode.

00:08:26 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 6:

So, Jade, this is admirable on some level, is it not?

00:08:30 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I agree that stuff is just stuff. But there's all something to be said for making a good first impression. And I'm sorry, I just can't date an overgrown frat boy.

00:08:43 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 6:

All right. Well, Jade, is this a deal breaker?

00:08:45 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 2:

It really is. No second date for me.

00:08:49 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 5:

All right. Hold on. Hold on. I liked him.

00:08:53 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 3:

Yeah? He was all right. I mean... I see both of their perspectives. He's never home. She wants a little more maturity.

00:09:01 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 5:

All right, fair enough. All right, second date update, 7.05 weekday mornings, replay at 9.05.
