Ted was feeling a deep connection, and he thought this thing with Lily was really going someplace. Maybe not though cause Lily has ghosted. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

More variety from the 2000s, the 90s, and today it's Star 113. It's Marcus and Corey. It is time for Second Date Update, and we're off.

00:00:08 - 00:00:16 | Speaker 6:

Second Date Update is a little segment we do to try and help somebody find true love after they go on a first date. That's out of Ted. Ted, are you there?

00:00:18 - 00:00:32 | Speaker 3:

Yep. Hey, guys. I liked your email because, well, tell everybody, like you met Lillian in real life, like not online or anything, which is very rare. And then, so run us through it and then run us through the first date.

00:00:34 - 00:01:36 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, we met in the wild. Yeah. It was, well, I mean, it was through a mutual friend, actually, but it was a party. And I thought we really connected. I mean, we talked all evening. I booked a date, like, immediately. So we went out the next week. I took her to, like, sushi in downtown Walnut Creek. Thought we had a great time there. I mean, we even kind of held hands while walking around, you know, so I thought that was a good sign. Dropped her off at home, gave her a little goodnight kiss, you know, gentlemanly. But after all that, you know, which I thought was going good, Lillian is now not returning my calls. Like at all? Yeah, and I mean, I don't know what happened, but I mean, she sent me a text and said she was not interested in dating anyone right now, which is just surprising to me. it's just a complete 180 of what i was vibing from her you know sure and so yeah what kind of

00:01:36 - 00:01:44 | Speaker 3:

question is that that's valid that's valid i did not okay okay we'll check that one off the list

00:01:44 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 2:

thank you yeah i don't get it uh did i need to send her a pic is that why i ruined it i don't know what happened you know it just something behind the scenes is going on right is what i

00:01:57 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 3:

think i mean to her credit at least she said something i mean the number of times we have

00:02:01 - 00:02:05 | Speaker 4:

people that are like yeah no they've disappeared i mean i i do kind of respect that but at the

00:02:05 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 3:

same time i want to know what happened yes we need details so ted we're gonna have you on the line and we will call her and get her thoughts on the date and see if we can figure out what happened okay that's great all right dude we're gonna make that call next let's do a song and then we'll get to it it's second date update start on one more variety from the 2000s the 90s and today Star 101.3, it's Marcus and Corey. We're talking to Ted. We've got Ted on the phone. He's calling us about second date update.

00:02:34 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 4:

And what's different about this one is she actually texted him back and said, I'm not interested in dating right now.

00:02:40 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 3:

Sort of, at least she did that. Probably doesn't make Ted feel any better.

00:02:44 - 00:02:45 | Speaker 4:

She didn't give a reason.

00:02:45 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 3:

Right. But, Ted, you guys met in person, like at a party, like a friend's house, right?

00:02:50 - 00:02:51 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I thought we connected.

00:02:51 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 3:

And it literally went from dinner, holding hands, kissing, to I don't want to see anybody right now.

00:02:58 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, that makes me think there's more to it.

00:03:00 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 3:

All right. Let's call her. Ted, go ahead and mute. And here we go.

00:03:12 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 5:

Hello? Hi, may I speak with Lillian, please? Yes, this is she. Hi, Lillian. It's Marcus and Corey from Star 1013.

00:03:20 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 3:

Good morning.

00:03:21 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 1:

I'm so sorry. What if Star 101?

00:03:24 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 3:

We're a radio station for iHeartRadio. Oh, okay. I'm assuming you... Well, do you listen?

00:03:30 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 1:

You know, I haven't in a while. I just listen to music through an app on my phone. Sorry.

00:03:36 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 3:

Well, the iHeartRadio app is free for download. We're delightful. Yes, delightful. That's a good word to use. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Do you have a second to talk to us on the air by chance? Oh. I know it's slightly weird. but we do a segment called Second Date Update. We got floated your phone number from a guy who took you on a date who's feeling ghosted, but he'd like to take you out again. I'm wondering if you could tell us anything about your date with Ted.

00:04:09 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 1:

Oh, wow. I mean, honestly, it was like the best date that I've ever been on. Okay. Yeah, like everything was great. We even, like, walked around and, like, held hands, which was, like, really sweet and very, like, you know, middle school nostalgia. I don't know. We've heard. It was a wonderful date.

00:04:30 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 4:

Okay. I'm confused as to why you wouldn't want a second one.

00:04:35 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 3:

He literally said that you texted and said, I'm not looking to date anybody right now. So what happened?

00:04:43 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 1:

I mean, I was still, like, on cloud nine, you know, and I was, like, getting ready to call him. and like was like you know be chill go to the grocery store and then like call him after that like it's too early so like you know i stopped at the grocery store um and

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

And while I was shopping, I, like, turned into the health and beauty aisle to go get some stuff. And it turns out that Ted was in that aisle with another woman holding her tampons for her.

00:05:15 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 1:

Oh, boy.

00:05:17 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Wow.

00:05:18 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 2:

They were, like, shopping together?

00:05:20 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 3:

Maybe it's his sister. I mean, if he kisses his sister like that, then that's a whole other problem. Oh, they kissed? yeah right yeah and like i didn't know what to do and then i was just kind of like weirdly following them around the store like i didn't mean to it was just happening and like you know they held hands in the store and they were all cute and then they kissed again in front of the produce and like you know the little rainstorm in the produce aisle when it comes on to like water the fruit or whatever that happened like right when they kissed it was like the notebook it was this beautiful moment between this obvious like couple like you know getting their food for dinner tonight and like buying tampons and that he held you know what I mean like that's a serious relationship and like I was just so like mortified and hurt because like I really like could see a future with Ted like that's how great our date was like I I was like maybe this is the one maybe that was my last first date like and then i was just so blindsided sure okay well here's the thing

00:06:28 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 2:

is ted is actually listening right now and now i have questions sorry ted ted are you there yeah ted all right so yep who's the other chick i uh

00:06:45 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

what's important is my intentions are pure she was just a friend I'm trying to I know this looks really bad

00:06:56 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 3:

I mean it is really bad it doesn't look bad

00:07:00 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 2:

like you're doing both

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 3:

me and that other

00:07:03 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 2:

so hold on did you kiss her? the other girl?

00:07:09 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 1:

she kissed me but I know that's not going to help the situation here's the thing it was how I feel about you is I never lied I really do like you I was just on like a date we are we're not exclusive I can go on dates with other people you can too I don't want to keep pursuing the other date I was on that was just like this Tinder thing she reached out to me

00:07:34 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 3:

you went on a Tinder date to a grocery store?

00:07:40 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

we were at a place before we went to the grocery store it doesn't it doesn't matter it was it was a thing uh she she probably really likes me but i really like you i wish you didn't see this because it would be a non-issue if you

00:07:56 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 3:

didn't because she's being phased out lillian your thoughts i mean phasing someone out doesn't sound very mature and like i'm too old for games like that like you either break up with someone or you're like, you know, with them or casually dating, this is too much. And, like, I'm going to be honest, you know, maybe he's a rare unicorn of a person, but not many men would carry tampons for someone they're casually hooking up with or whatever. So, like, it seems like this is a bigger relationship between the two of them than he's leading on. I'm done with this.

00:08:34 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 2:

All right, fair enough, fair enough. I don't know, he seemed shady

00:08:38 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

It does seem shady I mean, that's really personal

00:08:43 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:
