zach are you there yeah i'm here do me a huge favor that's how we do it you know this because you've been listening for a while but tell us how you met gabby and then tell us like how the first

date went okay um well uh started out with me going out with a friend of mine a co-worker to a bar that he likes. And when we were there, we met one of his neighbors, Gabby, and she joined us. And we ended up just basically talking to each other the whole night. We

really hit it off. I'm sorry, did the two of you meet in real life? Am I getting this right? Yes. Like old school?

Yeah. Old school, we didn't use any computer assistance at all. Wow, I love it. Yeah, and it was working. It was an analog sort of meeting, and it worked. You know, we ended up finding out we had a lot of things in common. I like movies. She loves movies. We made fun of our friend because he's a bit of a neat freak. So we had a little bit of fun poking fun at him. Sure, sure. And she likes video games. I like video games. And, you know, before we know it, like three hours had passed. And it was just, oh, this is really cool. So we exchanged numbers. We started, you know, texting each other, sending memes. And that was really fun, too. So I thought, let's go out. And so we went out on our first date, and I took her to this amazing Thai restaurant. It's one of my favorites. And I thought, everything's going great. The conversation is still flowing the same way as it did on the first night we met. And I thought, oh, this is great. And so I thought, let's go for a second date. And when I asked her out, that was it. Ghosted. Never heard from her. And I just wondered, what the hell went after? Well, we'll get to the bottom of it.

Yeah, I mean, that's what we do. So you can't think of anything. I'm sitting here listening going, okay, what did you do wrong?

No, she gave me a nice hug at the end of the day. I thought, oh, this is great. And again, it happens so infrequently that I thought, oh, this is great. This is meant to be. Sure.

I just have to be honest. I feel like we had a great time, great banter. But, like, I wasn't really, I don't know. It just didn't seem like a fit. Like, I told you I hated Thai food, and then you insisted on taking me to Thai food.

I see. Yeah. You only think you hated Thai food, right?

Because you never had real good Thai food. Not a good first date to, like, you don't care about, like, my preference at all. So I was like, okay, well, let's just make the best of it.

So you told him you hate Thai food, and Zach, you took her to a Thai restaurant.

Why would you do that?

I wrote him off right there, and then I was like, well, tonight's whatever.

Zach?

I just figured that she doesn't know that she doesn't like Thai food because she's never had real Thai food. And I thought this one was going to blow her mind, right? Because a lot of people say, I don't like Thai food. And then they try it and it's like, oh, yeah, this is the best food in the world. And I just was giving you the opportunity to make an outstanding discovery, basically.

People do that to me all the time with lobster and certain seafood. They're like, oh, you just haven't had good lobster.

My wife doesn't like lobster and I don't get it.

It's a texture thing for me. But my sister constantly made me try at different places. And I'm like, I don't like it. Please stop force feeding me lobster.

Okay. My wife says the same thing.

Oh, you mean eat butter?

Exactly. It's like just you put butter and garlic on your shoe, you're going to eat it.

Yeah.

But back to you guys. So, Zach, it sounds like you really kind of forced your way into this. Gabby didn't like it

that can seem kind of aggressive on a first date like maybe down the road you say hey do me a favor just try this food but on a first date that's kind of heavy handed

I was just trying to help I was just trying to like open her mind a little bit sort of like hey I don't know you back I was trying to help you out trying to open you know your mind a little bit okay good I guess don't do that anymore
