Happy Thanksgiving week here. It's Mojo in the morning. I'm so excited for this week. I'm excited that I got the whole family coming into town. For those that don't know, Chelsea and I have three boys. We're really excited over the fact that yesterday Joe came in and then Luke came home for like a bit, but then has a class today at Michigan State and then he's going to take a test or something And then he'll be hitting the road, 96, to come home. And then Jacob we checked in with yesterday. Jacob had his, he and his boyfriend's birthday. So they celebrated that. And then he's going to be coming in tomorrow. So I'm getting all three of them home. Actually, I'm not. Chelsea is. And let me say this to you. When mom's happy, dad's happy. A happy mom makes a happy mojo, okay? Because she gets very excited to spend time with her boys. I would rather just be with her. And, you know, to me, if they were orphaned, I'd be fine with that. But that's okay.

00:03:00 - 00:03:00 | Speaker 7:

Mojo.

00:03:01 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 5:

Well, let me explain why. And I don't know if any other parents share this. I have two out of the three of them that when they come home, Luke and Jacob specifically, they never spend time with us. They go up to their room, and they're up in their room the entire time. And do any of you have kids that you can never get out of your room? I don't understand this. I am of a different generation. I was of the generation that we weren't allowed to be up in our room and so much that we weren't allowed to be up in our room. Our parents made our rooms not really comfortable. Like we didn't have TVs. Matter of fact, my dad took the fricking door off the room because my brother would slam it so much that he didn't want to. So there's no door on the room. We actually threatened to do that with Jacob once because Jacob will not leave his room. And he, so he comes home to visit his family and he's with us for dinner. okay and that's it i mean that's all he literally like joe is different joe so joe was home yesterday we sat and watched football non-stop all day yeah right i went to go to bed because i said oh i gotta work tomorrow and joe took this week off joe's like you really gotta go to bed like he was like the other boys would never spend that much time with me but jacob doesn't like that

00:04:18 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 7:

if you were doing something jacob liked would he hang out with you i have you don't understand how

00:04:23 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

many scary movies i have watched i know that's jacob's thing jacob's in the stuff like that i've watched more scary movies i've watched more movies that had actors in it that i had no idea who they were like jacob jacob's love is of movies or actors that i literally don't think have ever acted in anything that has been relatively popular i don't know or maybe i'm

00:04:44 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 7:

just my maybe my taste is completely different are you saying that while you're watching these

00:04:48 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

sings with him no i fake it i pretend i'm really good at that maybe you should take the uh the doors off like you just said oh could you imagine the backlash

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 4:

They would never come home for a holiday ever again.

00:05:02 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 2:

Well, we thought we, we, I threatened it one time and Chelsea goes, you can't do that. You know, you can't, it's not privacy. I'm like privacy. This is my house. This is by the way, a, we are a communist country right here. I am Fidel Castro or, or I am, I am Vladimir Putin in this house.

00:05:23 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 4:

What are they doing up there? Like just on their phones or. I don't know.

00:05:27 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

What do you think? I don't know. I don't want to know. No, they're not doing that.

00:05:31 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 5:

They're not doing that.

00:05:32 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 2:

Yeah? You don't think so?

00:05:33 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 5:

Maybe when they were teens, but not as an adult.

00:05:36 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 2:

No. I walk into the room. This is interesting. Has any parents ever had this one? I walk up. So we have a different thermostat for the upstairs than we do for the downstairs level. Yeah. And we have a master bedroom on the first floor. I'll go upstairs, and I'll be like, who put the air conditioning on in winter? Like, it's like, literally, or the windows are open. Like, Jacob will open up his windows, and I'll be like, oh, my God. Is he smoking weed?

00:06:00 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 4:

No.

00:06:01 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 2:

Well, I thought that that was the case, but literally he smoked weed before in front of me and it's been fine.

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, he's not an issue.

00:06:08 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 2:

He does edibles and stuff. But I also have, I think honestly he just likes it cold and he likes to be under a pile of blankets. So 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Wait till your kids are that age, Shannon.

00:06:23 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 4:

Well, so I experienced this with my stepkids because they're 15 and... Oh, that's right. 17. I had to think for a second. And it is like a thing where... So my stepdaughter, Sam, she studies. And she studies and she reads. She's literally me. And so I know you're going to play the nerd drop. She's actually really cool. But then my stepson, Kieran, he has the whole basement. And that basement, sweet. It's like his own apartment. So I can kind of understand. But, like, when he comes up, I'm like, oh, my God, you're here? Like, I didn't even know he was there if it weren't for his car parked in the driveway.

00:07:02 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's something about being a teenager.

00:07:05 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 4:

And this is the new thing, too, is he's starting to bring food down there.

00:07:10 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah.

00:07:10 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

So I'm like, where the hell's my box of Cheez-It? Where the heck's the case of La Croix I just bought? I know always where it is. The case.

00:07:17 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 2:

The whole case. That case. Hey, Helena, what's up? How are you?

00:07:22 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 1:

Good. I was going to say it is definitely like a firstborn child thing where like you want to spend all the time with the family because I'm the firstborn child. And when I lived in Chicago and I came home, I would spend all the time with my parents, but my brother would never leave his room.

00:07:37 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 5:

Can I tell you, I don't think you're right here. I don't think it's a firstborn child thing. I think it's a favorite child thing.

00:07:45 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

Really?

00:07:45 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, because I'm my dad's favorite child and the youngest and I spend all my time with him. And Joe is your favorite.

00:07:51 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 2:

it don't deny see but you're also the first you're first born right megan no you know you're second born or you're the baby you're the baby of the family i didn't know my brother your brother seems so much younger than you he's just trying to piss you off have you thought about the rage

00:08:07 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 5:

botox oh my god you better go to a commercial right now just kidding i'm i'm feeling under

00:08:14 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

the weather i think it's time for me to go home what's up listener shannon what's going on

00:08:19 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 3:

hey good um yeah my son i can't get him out of his room i take him to school and that literally is the whole uh only time i see him really so when you're driving to and from school is the only time that you guys ever communicate uh yeah but he still is hard to

00:08:41 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

communicate going to school yeah you know what it's it's interesting i there's a point in their life where i think they grow out of it a little bit but then they go back to it because jake and luke were like that and then all of a sudden they became such talkers but they would talk about stuff that i'd be like what are they talking about and i megan megan's right i do have to be careful sometimes that my facial expression shows that i don't know what the hell they're doing so i have to literally go oh great great and i'm sitting there googling the entire time What are they talking about?

00:09:12 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 3:

Well, I've asked my son, you know, why don't you come down and have a conversation, watch a movie with us, you know, or what are we doing wrong, or, and all he says is, well, you don't like what I like, or, you know, you don't do anything I like. Here's the thing that's funny. Well, then don't tell me what he likes.

00:09:33 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, here's the funny thing. I'm cool. I don't know if you know this. I'm cool. His friends want to hang out with me. Like their friends come over and they talk to me nonstop. I'm like, why does my kid not talk to me nonstop? Casey, what's up? Hi. Hi, how are you? I'm doing okay, Casey. I'm excited that my family's all going to be under the same roof. We just won't be in the same room. But what's up? All right.

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Well, I can understand.

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 7:

the open windows and the ac on because the upstairs gets so hot we actually keep our air conditioner fan on in the wintertime because all that heat rises to the upstairs and it gets so

00:10:12 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 5:

hot up there okay so you're saying that the reason he's opening it up his windows is because of that and not that what shannon said he's up there doing a bunch of drugs you know you know what the funniest is the funniest is that our kids are of the age because they're all over, obviously, 18 years old. Luke's not, but Luke doesn't participate in this, or at least I don't know that he does. My kids come home, and the first thing they do is they go to the greenhouse in Wald Lake to go get stocked up. Oh, yeah. And then it becomes a whole thing where they're like, Mom said that she would buy a little bit for us. I'm like, no, Mom did not say that.

00:10:52 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 8:

No, that's the rules of going home.

00:10:55 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:10:55 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 8:

Parents buy everything.

00:10:57 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 5:

Parents do it.

00:10:57 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 8:

Yes, and I'm going to shop at your house. I'm going to pick up the toilet paper that I need and the cleaning supplies that I need.

00:11:04 - 00:11:04 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:11:04 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 7:

Especially the expensive stuff like garbage bags and paper towels and toilet paper. That's the stuff you got to get. I always used to take that.

00:11:13 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 5:

Megan still does it with Scott Mick.

00:11:15 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 8:

I absolutely do. I have a key to his apartment and every time I go back to Toledo, I swing by his place and I pick up everything I need out of his front hall closet.

00:11:23 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 1:

He came to our broadcast at Franklin Park Mall on Saturday and at one point I turned around and he was so great. brought us berry spagels which i tried for the first time so yum but he was like handing megan

00:11:32 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 8:

a wad of money and i was like oh really this is how it works i love my dad cut the umbilical cord mr mick absolutely not i'm i'm just i'm just a girl who needs money that's what i do to my dad

00:11:46 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 5:

i'm just so by the way did did he tell you that i called him he did and he was like are you in

00:11:52 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 8:

trouble and i was like i don't know what did he say no i called him i wanted what i wanted to do

00:11:57 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 5:

I wanted him to pick up, and on the way out, I wanted to see if I could go by his house and just take pictures from his couch just to freak you out.

00:12:03 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 8:

He would have done that in a heartbeat with you.

00:12:06 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 5:

I wanted to just sit there and lay on the couch and be like, he just adopted me. We're now friends.
