Time now here on the Mojo in the Morning Show for Am I the A-Hole? And you get to decide whether or not he's the A-Hole or maybe she's the A-Hole. When I say he, I'm talking about Craig, who his wife did something that he is not happy with and actually is still doing it, right, Craig? or has she stopped since you put up your opposition to it?

00:02:32 - 00:02:34 | Speaker 9:

No, she hasn't stopped.

00:02:34 - 00:02:51 | Speaker 7:

She's still doing it. So Craig is on with us right now. His wife Mariah is also on with us right now. And Craig doesn't think that he's in the wrong, but we're going to decide whether or not he is with Am I the A-hole. Craig, what is it that you're upset about?

00:02:52 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 9:

Okay. Okay. Well, I'm a little uncomfortable talking about it even, but so my wife and I, Maria, she's been allowing our teenage son to have sex with his girlfriend in the house, and I just don't think I'm okay with it. um it makes me really uncomfortable i've been trying to kind of see past this maybe see this her side of the story but i i just cannot i hate it well even before we get into whether we think

00:03:31 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 4:

it's right or not probably should have been a conversation between the two of you where you

00:03:36 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 7:

stand before it's just started happening maria um and i apologize for calling you mariah but maria why are you doing this? Why are you allowing your teenage son, and first off, what are you allowing your teenage son to do?

00:03:54 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 8:

Well, I'm allowing them to be in the room with the door closed and I've talked with him, I've prepared him with protection and I would just much rather know what he's doing and where he is than if he's off somewhere he knows where, they could really get into trouble. So you just want him to get into trouble instead

00:04:15 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 7:

In his bedroom But it's safe trouble she's saying Because she's allowing him to do it

00:04:22 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 8:

I know but this is something that you guys both have to be on the same page about For sure

00:04:26 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 7:

We talked earlier this hour on the show About finding your child's sex toys And we found that there were parents that bought sex toys for their kids Now we're talking to parents Who actually Openly or a parent Who openly allows their child to have sex at home None of these people Were ever my parents I couldn't even bring food up to my bedroom Let alone a girl Up to my bedroom Although there were not many options of girls That wanted to come up to my bedroom

00:04:55 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

That's true my parents would never allow it either But they never had to worry about it Because they never had a girl that was willing to come to my house

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

All right, so I'm trying to unravel this thing, and then we're going to decide who we think the a-hole is on this one. So, Maria, your son, and how old is your son? 16. 16 years old. Your son's dating a girl, right?

00:05:15 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they've been together for a while, and I just think that they're going to do it no matter what I say.

00:05:20 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 3:

Okay, and so you're okay with them going up in the room and closing the door and stuff, which is interesting because that in our house with my children, And it was, you weren't allowed to go upstairs. Like you can go down in the basement and be down in the basement, but we also would send our youngest son Luke to go interrupt them all the time. But, um, and, and Craig, you were never brought into a conversation about this. Maria never said to you, Hey, what do you think about this?

00:05:47 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 4:

No. And, and listen, it's never been like upfront and said that they're, they're having sex in there, but I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Yeah. And, you know, I'm at work all the time, so I feel like I really haven't had any say about this, and it's been really bothering me. I just don't know that I can deal with it. I mean, is it unreasonable for me to feel this way? Am I the jerk about this? I'm just not comfortable with it at all.

00:06:19 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 3:

Listen, I would say this. You guys both definitely should be on the same page on this one, but I also think that what Maria is doing is like, I don't know. it's it's it's way way like over the edge of what i would think that normal parents would do but i could be wrong i mean there might be some parents that are saying hey i'd rather my kid like you said they're doing it so doing it at home and i'd rather have you doing it at home and then in a car and uh but um am i the a-hole it's mojo in the morning 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 craig uh or I'm sorry, Rebecca, is Craig the a-hole?

00:06:55 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

No, I understand where they're both coming from, but I understand Rebecca completely because, like you guys were mentioning, you know where they're doing it, and regardless, you'd rather have them do it at home where there's going to be protection and safe than you know they're going to go to some random parking lot and do it where it's not safe and who knows what can happen after that.

00:07:15 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, so what would you do? If you were these parents, where do you draw the line?

00:07:21 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

I would definitely draw the line if obviously it's when we were home, we could hear things, we could, you know, and obviously he doesn't know exactly if they're having sex or not, but if you could hear things and it makes you, you don't want to hear the stuff in the house, but if you know that they're doing it and they're being comfortable and they are being, doing what needs to be done to be safe about it, then I would allow it.

00:07:45 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 3:

See, it's interesting because I would say this, that, you know, you want your kids to be safe first and foremost. But by doing that, encouraging them, it's like the parents who let their kids drink at home.

00:07:58 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 2:

I would still have to talk with them as I think they're still too young and shouldn't. But if they thought they were ready to have something like that, you know, just be careful with it. Don't do it in a random parking lot where they can get caught and get trouble.

00:08:11 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 3:

sure but definitely wait if they think you know if they could wait they can wait and and like to what level and this is something for maria but to what level i know you say you buy protection and stuff but do you also make sure that the room is nicely you know done for them and like like

00:08:28 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

how romantic do you leave it for your teenager i don't decorate the room with candles or anything But I have helped him set up some dates and come up with ideas. I mean, I think I'm teaching him how to treat a woman, which is super important, especially these days.

00:08:46 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 3:

Okay. All right. Yes. Jeremy? It is. Jeremy? Well, hold on. Hold on, Jeremy. Let me introduce you. Hey, guys. It's Jeremy. He's a caller. Jeremy, am I the a-hole? What do you think? I like the callers that are already talking before we picked them up. They're like talking to the radio right now. Jeremy, what do you think? Is Craig the a-hole?

00:09:06 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 5:

No, I agree with him full-heartedly. I have actually two daughters that are grown up and out of the house now, but completely right from where he's coming from, for sure, especially at the age of 16. I mean, that's kind of crazy if you really think about it. You know, you're just teaching them. From what I see, you're just teaching them the wrong ways right from the get-go. Oh, here's a good question.

00:09:31 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 2:

Why do you say that?

00:09:32 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 5:

um the age of 16 i mean there's a lot more things in the world that they could be uh concentrating on and rather than having sex in your own mother's house but they are well

00:09:44 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

i wasn't i didn't do it till i was 17. right but but i think a big part of this though is making kids comfortable enough to make that decision for themselves so if you're if you're saying well i didn't so you shouldn't that doesn't mean that they're not going to do it because they're going to do what they

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 6:

want to do no matter what but providing them an atmosphere where they feel safe to say yes i'm ready or no i'm not i think it's a way way more important issue than where they're having the sex

00:10:10 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 3:

yeah i think it just needs to be done though with a like they need to present a united front which is not happening here's a question why does dad get the right say

00:10:20 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 6:

why is it well well he should at least have a say right i mean here's here's a qu here's a

00:10:27 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 4:

question for this dad jeremy on here because he's got a daughter um how would you feel two of them how would you feel if their boyfriend's mom was making it romantically uh possible for your daughters to to have sex in the teenage boy's house i would i would probably definitely go to the house and snatch my daughter right out of that house maria do you make sure that the mothers the mother of your 16 year old son are okay with this or have you not even contacted them

00:10:57 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 7:

And that's another big thing there If she's not If she's not communicating with The daughter's Parents about this Yeah

00:11:09 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 4:

Let me ask her that question Jeremy Maria

00:11:13 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 2:

Yeah I have Because they're young And there has to be full consent Especially being the mother of a boy

00:11:23 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 4:

So you got it okayed by the mom Yeah You're okay. All right. And the mom was okay with it? Was she at all taken back by this? And does she also allow your son to go over and have sex with her daughter in their house?

00:11:39 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, they have. I mean, she feels the same. You know what happens when you say no to a child. They still find a way to an adult, really. We find a way to do what we want to do no matter what. So she's on board with it. And then especially the mother of a son, like, if he's accused of something at this young age, his life could be ruined.

00:12:00 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 4:

That's true. That's very true. Wow.

00:12:02 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, but at the age of 16, I mean, you're teaching them that it's okay to have sex at, you know, the age of 16. Kids are going to do what they're going to do regardless.

00:12:16 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 6:

But for some people, it is okay. So, like, for some parents.

00:12:21 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 7:

not allowing greg to have any kind of say in it that's that's the big point that'll turn a dad into an overprotective dad for sure but that'll also turn the father into you know not wanting to

00:12:35 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 5:

feel like he has anything to say in the house at all yeah i don't like the argument of of well they're gonna do it anyways no that's your job as a parent is to stop that is to be the person who has to make the tough decisions like that and says, no, you're not going to do that right now. You need to focus on other things. Sex is not the most important thing in the entire world.

00:12:57 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 4:

And every now and again, somebody should be told no and understand that there are consequences to saying yes to a person's no.

00:13:06 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 6:

But I think you can convey that you don't want them to make that decision. But at the end of the day, they're people. They get to make their own decisions on their lives. So give them as much information as you can. all of the safety precautions that you can and then express your views but know that at the end of the day you can't control them. You can't stop them from doing that.

00:13:27 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 4:

The problem though I think nowadays is nobody instills values into anybody anymore and holds them to their values.

00:13:33 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 6:

But not everybody shares the same values.

00:13:35 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 4:

Well, but your children, shouldn't your children, shouldn't you as the parent until your child's 18 or even past that? I like to give my kids values and I got a couple that are over 18.

00:13:47 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 3:

We just talked about integrity yesterday, right?

00:13:48 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 4:

I mean, yes. Don't go into that. But that's different for different people.

00:13:52 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 6:

Because I was raised in a household where that was not acceptable. And my sex education growing up ruined my adult perspective on sex. Like, I am so uncomfortable to this day because of what was forced upon me as a child. And I think that has huge repercussions as well for a healthy adult life.

00:14:14 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 4:

What do you think about this, Kim?

00:14:17 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

I agree with the father, and mainly because my husband and I, I have a 19-year-old girl, 25-year-old boy, and we talk to and talk our children about sex, but we're not letting them have sex in our house and setting it up so teenagers can get out here and start making decisions that teenagers shouldn't really be making. Even though these days there's a lot of sex going around, a teenager can't deny that. However, you can, like I just heard her saying, instill value. We weren't taught where I'm about 50 and we weren't taught about sex.

00:15:00 - 00:15:17 | Speaker 2:

until we were actually doing it back then. So it's all about you teach them, you let them know, like, hey, this is what it is. We would prefer you wait until you get married, but who's really doing that? But the thing about it, I'm not going to set up a sex room for them, yeah.

00:15:17 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 4:

I always say this, that my kids get a say-so the moment they start paying taxes. If they start paying taxes, then they're allowed to have a say-so. What's going on, Ryan?

00:15:27 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 3:

Yes, what's up, y'all? How you doing? Basically, my dude, he's not wrong. The mom, I think she might want to be a grandmother. In my situation, I'm in the same situation. My girl, my 15-year-old stepdaughter, have sex in her own, but now she's pregnant. Oh, that's right.

00:15:46 - 00:15:49 | Speaker 4:

Wait, who's your girl? Your daughter's mother?

00:15:50 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

00:15:51 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 4:

Wow, she let her.

00:15:52 - 00:15:57 | Speaker 3:

I tried to stop it so many times, but she likes to let it happen, and that's what happened.

00:15:57 - 00:16:03 | Speaker 4:

So wait, so it didn't instill her the thought of having safe sex, even though mom was okay with it?

00:16:04 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 3:

They said they don't have a safe sex, but they're going to do what they want to do, like people say. But it should have been like a challenge.

00:16:11 - 00:16:11 | Speaker 4:

Do you think...

00:16:11 - 00:16:14 | Speaker 3:

When we grew up with a challenge, she had to find somewhere to have sex.

00:16:15 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 4:

Do you think, though, that your daughter would have just gotten pregnant anyway? I mean, I hate to say that, but if your kid's having sex, they're having sex unprotected.

00:16:24 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 3:

I think so, but that just made it way easier.

00:16:27 - 00:16:44 | Speaker 4:

This is one of those things where I'm going to say this to Craig and to Maria. I think you definitely, whether you agree or disagree with Craig or disagree with Maria, I really do think that you need to be on the same page because if you're on different pages, it's just going to cause for more problems in your marriage.
