All right. It is Mojo in the morning. So I called up a buddy. So this is interesting. So we have we're having a big party this week. Chelsea's having a big party for me where the entire radio station, a bunch of our friends and a lot of the clients that advertise with this show over the years, everybody's getting together on Friday night and we're going to have fun. Well, friends of mine have flown into town to come to this party. And one of my buddies, Dennis, has always wanted to golf at one of the real nice golf places here, like the really nice country clubs here, Oakland Hills, which is like a premier place. And honestly, I can't golf there because I'm not good enough to golf there. So I had to call in help from a friend and ask him if he could get me on Oakland Hills to go golfing. so I ended up picking up the phone dialing him up and he answers the phone and when he answers the phone to say hey I can kind of hear there's commotion in the background and I'm like hey buddy I just wanted to just you know say hey I got a friend coming into town is there any way you can get me you know out on Oakland Hills whatever the deal is he's like yeah yeah no problem no listen my wife's in the midst of having a baby right now so why don't I I'll call you back afterwards and we'll we'll talk he answered the phone in the delivery room to to just to grab my call and i wanted to ask a question how much would you kill your man if your man answered the phone

00:03:54 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 3:

in the delivery room shannon did you imagine yeah i can't imagine because it happened uh i well but Here's the thing. It depends on what stage of the delivery you're at. Okay. Really, because that can be a very lengthy process. Do you know what I mean? If she was pushing and he answered the phone, he's a dead man.

00:04:16 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 4:

You would be like, what's going on? What are you doing? Why are you grabbing your phone?

00:04:20 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 3:

But if you're in contractions or whatever or just getting induced, I mean, I'll let it slide.

00:04:27 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 4:

What stage was you in when your guy answered the phone?

00:04:31 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 3:

I was in every stage because Mojo called every 10 minutes. It was you?

00:04:36 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 4:

Mojo called every 10 minutes. I wanted to get an update.

00:04:41 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

And my ex-husband, you know, wanted to make sure he understood the assignment. He understood the assignment of we do a radio show and everybody was waiting for this baby, which ended up being Lucy to come. And so he was answering the phone and it was fine. but there was a point when like

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 1:

Things were happening. And I was like, get off the phone.

00:05:04 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 5:

You're a boundary. All right, I want to ask the question. Is there any listener of ours that their baby daddy answered the phone or grabbed the phone in the middle of it or did something that he shouldn't have been doing during the labor? 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Text is 95500.

00:05:24 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

I will say this. Like answering a phone call, whatever your phone call, fine. The guys who, and I think Mike, our very own Mike, did this, wanted to bring his Xbox into the delivery room and play the entire time while Allie was in labor. I think it was with Milo. And I was like, that you can't do. You got to be there for her. A phone call every now and again. Okay, fine.

00:05:47 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 5:

Look how beautiful that baby is. But sitting there. Isn't that baby beautiful? Oh, he's my neighbor. Yeah, beautiful.

00:05:52 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 1:

Wait, okay, but if you're focused on a video game the entire time, well, I am in the worst pain of my life. I hate you.

00:06:00 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 6:

We're not doing anything, though.

00:06:01 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:06:02 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 6:

That's the thing. We're just sitting in a chair.

00:06:04 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 5:

So what were you doing? You're just sitting there doing nothing?

00:06:06 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 6:

I thought about bringing my video game, but it was like the water broke, and we went straight to the hospital, so it wasn't really much time to pack, and then when I could run home and grab stuff, I forgot to grab the thing. Yeah. So you're just sitting there on your phone chilling while she chilling. If she's chilling, then everybody's chilling.

00:06:20 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 5:

When I told Chelsea I was going to bring this up as a topic, she goes, well, you of course should talk about the fact that during two of the deliveries, two of the three, I had left during the deliveries. One was to go get food at the cafeteria. The other was, I went home and took a shower.

00:06:37 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 1:

I remember that story.

00:06:38 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 5:

Joe's was the longest.

00:06:39 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

Don't they deliver the food to the room?

00:06:40 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 5:

They didn't do DoorDash back then. There was no DoorDash back then.

00:06:43 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

This was in the olden days.

00:06:44 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

I'm talking about the hospital. You call the hospital, they didn't bring it up. They didn't do it back then either. Thank you. Did they have elevators at least? They did. What's going on, Rachel? Hi, how are you?

00:06:56 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 4:

Good, how are you?

00:06:58 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 5:

Doing good. What did they do during the delivery?

00:07:01 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 4:

So my fiance, with the first one, he actually brought the Nintendo Switch and he was playing the new Pokemon game up until he got to the pushing point. So I tolerated it for a little while. You are a saint. At the end, I wanted to be one of those girls that brought the Nerf guns to just start shooting it at him, you know?

00:07:21 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. I love, though, that you said up until that one part, that was it. And then after that one part, you were like, this is all over with, right?

00:07:30 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 4:

Well, with the second one, it was time to push. And he had coincidentally gone downstairs to get a coffee from the cafeteria. So I had to call him, and he's running back upstairs.

00:07:40 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 5:

They did that with me. They had to go down to the cafeteria to grab me. Luckily, I was pondering turkey and mashed potatoes, ham sandwich. What's up, Caitlin? How you doing?

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 2:

Good. How are you?

00:07:53 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 5:

Good. What happened?

00:07:55 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 2:

So my boyfriend at the time and I were young and dumb and had a baby at 18, 19. And when I was in labor for 24 hours, he got approved for a loan for a dirt bike. And he left me during labor to go get a dirt bike. Oh, my gosh.

00:08:10 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 5:

You pop the babies out. You pop the willies.

00:08:12 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 2:

and we named him Ryder that's actually a great name

00:08:20 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 5:

that's unreal Frank what's happening it's Mojo in the morning how you doing buddy did you do something stupid like this Frankie oh we lost him what did Frank say that he did he left to go pick up

00:08:36 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

00:09:07 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 1:

00:09:11 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 3:

Got none of it. My son was born front seat.

00:09:14 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no. Oh, my God.

00:09:17 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 3:

How is his brain working?

00:09:18 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 5:

Are you guys still together?

00:09:20 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 6:

It was not at all.

00:09:25 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 5:

Are you still together, Keisha?

00:09:28 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 3:

We are still together. He tells the story all the time. I think he went into some type of shock, and I'm just like, sir, I was giving birth, and you're like. In the car. All right, you play Candy Crush.

00:09:38 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. Alex, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:09:42 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 4:

Hi, first time long. Hey, Alex. Hey, Alex. So when I was giving birth to my daughter, the whole time, her father was out in the waiting room with all his cousins playing poker. Oh, bro. They had, when it was time for me to push, they had.

first time super duper long our second child my husband and doctor decided to watch football the whole time I was in labor

00:10:44 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 6:

was it a super bowl or like what was going on

00:10:46 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 5:

no it was the month of September so things were just starting wait hold on

00:10:52 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 6:

your doctor was part of that too

00:10:54 - 00:11:08 | Speaker 5:

yes mojo oh my god amazing amazing doctor i could not complain one bit but it got a little frustrating towards the end when things were starting to happen oh my god that's sad that is

00:11:08 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 6:

oh these guys not smart nick is on with us right now we were talking to the caller keisha was talking about how he missed the entire birth of the baby uh not having the phone ready nick what

00:11:21 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 2:

happened so i was supposed to be recording this whole time and i was just so in shock of just the baby being born so i just like lost it and the crazy part is she had the smallest umbilical cord ever and she came out and when she popped out she turned around and slapped her mom on the butt on the way out that's cute and you miss none of it captured did you miss it all missed it all He didn't even see it. I was like, you got to see it. She spawned on the table and slapped you in the butt. It was beautiful.

00:11:53 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 6:

And you got none of it. You poor bastard. None of it. Oh, that's so sad. Isn't that the worst? It's the worst when you're trying to record something. You think you got it. And you look at your phone and you're like, ah, I took a picture. What's up, Gina? How you doing? Good.

00:12:08 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. Good morning.

00:12:09 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 6:

What's going on?

00:12:11 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 1:

So my husband, ex-husband, after the birth of my daughter, left the hospital before he even held her or anything to go get a tattoo of his own name on his own name. Of his own name?

00:12:26 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 7:

I like the emphasis on that.

00:12:30 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. But he forgot his own name. Oh, my God. Why in the hell did he do that? By the way, these are all X's, by the way. Do you know what this is? A lot of people are saying these are X's. There's a pattern. Hold on. Wendy, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning. We're talking about the dumb things people do in labor.

00:12:50 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 4:

Well, I was in the hospital, and they were saying that I should have the baby by dinner time. And my husband said, well, gosh, I probably have time to go get a haircut.

00:13:01 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 7:

You want to look fresh for the baby. Who are these guys?

00:13:05 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 4:

It gets better. it gets better so he goes to get a haircut which i was totally fine with and he calls and he says well how's everything coming along do i have time to go get an oil

00:13:15 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 7:

change he was really taking off his to-do list exactly before the baby came he was getting

00:13:23 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 4:

everything done that's awesome that might be my favorite did he make it back in time

00:13:27 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 6:

he did he did oh my god that's so funny that's a great call thank you and kim last but not least Kim, we're talking about the things that guys will do while they're in the delivery room and their beautiful mother of their baby is giving birth.

00:13:43 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 3:

Hi. Hi. Hi. So my husband decided to invite his business partner in. My mother-in-law was in there. My mom, my sister, him, his business partner, I believe. I believe that was it. But it was like a party in there. Wait, why his business partner? Well, she's a woman, but still. I don't know. They had to talk about business, I guess. And they were doing closed head injury cases, so I have no idea.

00:14:19 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 6:

Did the doctors or nurses say, what the hell are all these people doing in here?

00:14:23 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 3:

Well, the nurse whispered to me at one point, and she was like, do you want me to try to get them out, get them all out? And I was kind of like, I guess so. I mean, I was in pain, so I was being induced fast.

00:14:33 - 00:14:36 | Speaker 6:

Once you get that epidural, you know what I mean?

00:14:36 - 00:14:39 | Speaker 3:

That's like, yeah, I haven't even had the epidural yet.

00:14:40 - 00:14:42 | Speaker 6:

Oh my God. Yeah.

00:14:42 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 3:

They wouldn't do it until I was closer.

00:14:44 - 00:14:45 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. You're right.

00:14:45 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 7:

The husband's to blame, but the business partner thinking that she could come to the hospital in your labor and delivery room and work for the baby.

00:14:51 - 00:14:57 | Speaker 6:

You got to pay for that baby. They come. Oh my God. Oh my God. All right. Hold on.

00:14:57 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 7:

I don't like this story.

00:14:58 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 6:

Last but not least.

00:15:00 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 4:

Johnny, are you there, Johnny? Oh, my God.

00:15:03 - 00:15:03 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:15:03 - 00:15:04 | Speaker 4:

What happened, Johnny?

00:15:05 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 5:

Okay, so what happened was my buddy calls me, and he goes, hey, my old lady's going to be having her kid pretty soon here. He goes, want to meet me at the hospital? And I'm like, okay, cool, man. I'll meet you at the hospital. Well, about 10 minutes later, he calls me. No, meet me at the Dudes. It was on LaGrange Street in Toledo years ago. Meet me at the Dudes. And I'm like, the dude, that's a strip club. And he goes, yeah, she's going to be a while. Oh, my God.

00:15:37 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 4:

Are you kidding me?

00:15:41 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 5:

Seriously.

00:15:42 - 00:15:44 | Speaker 4:

But you went, didn't you?

00:15:45 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 5:

So, no, I met him there. I met him there. And then after a few beers, we went back to the hospital. The kid popped out the oven. Everything was good in the hood. But it was, I mean, I'll never forget that. That was the most hilarious thing. Well, one of the most hilarious things in life. Johnny, Johnny, did you guys? I love you guys. I love you guys so much. I love you too. I listen to you every morning. Thank you, Johnny. Okay. Johnny, real quick, I got to ask you. Have a good one, guys. Johnny, real quick, I got to ask you. Did you smell more like beer or like stripper? No, I smell more like beer than anything. I was married at the time I was married at the time You wouldn't do that

00:16:35 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 4:

You're a smart guy Thanks Johnny

00:16:39 - 00:17:04 | Speaker 2:
