Mojo in the morning, ciao. phone number 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 the uh telephone number um we're gonna do war of the roses uh here on the show tuesdays and thursdays so i found this to be fascinating i was checking this out and i thought i know we've talked about this but have we really delved into it to see if any of our listeners are currently doing it. You might be micro-cheating if you like social media posts or you confide in your ex. According to Alicia Moniz, a relationship counselor, micro-cheating is the act of cultivating in small ways inappropriate intimate connections outside your relationship. Well, that actually got me thinking a little bit. Uh-oh, hold on a second here. I think that I want to know more about this. I want my wife to know less. While it doesn't necessarily involve you physically cheating, like having sex with somebody or kissing another person, actions actually sometimes speak louder than those moments. and your actions of doing things on social media or texting, emotional connection, you are micro-cheating. And I know that we've numerous times on our show have had people that have said, hey, you know, I think my spouse is cheating. Here's the reason why. I found some text messages. And we'll say, well, can you read us text messages? And people have read us text messages that are so incriminating. I'm like, you don't need us. But then there are some that it's like a text message and it was like, thanks, hon. You know, a person said something like that to them or it was a text message from a person that said, I remember there was one particular wife that said, I know my husband is cheating with one of our neighbors. He constantly has communication with her where she doesn't communicate with me. I'm like, oh, I'm intrigued by that. Well, the communication was he was actually coaching the soccer team for the kids in the neighborhood, and she was one of the moms. Now, if it becomes more than talking about soccer, then there's an issue there.

00:04:15 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 2:

What does this give as the different things, different items?

00:04:20 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

Okay, so some of the common examples that people included was confiding in an ex about a current relationship issue. So if you're talking to somebody about your current relationship with your ex and asking them for their thoughts on it and they're giving you thoughts that probably are way too honest, that's one of the issues. Neglecting to tell someone the status of your relationship. So having a conversation with somebody but not actually saying, by the way, I'm in a relationship. Yeah, inside jokes that make someone who is not your partner see.

00:05:00 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 4:

Secretly messaging someone, not inviting your partner to events because, you know, the other person is going to be there. This is all micro-cheating. And anybody guilty?

00:05:13 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 5:

In the past, yes. In the past, yeah. I definitely have not, like, probably early or right in the beginning of Allie and I's relationship, I didn't tell people the status of my relationship. And I attributed it to the job, but I think it was still what it was. It's still what I was doing.

00:05:30 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 2:

So nobody knew that you had a girlfriend? Yeah, kind of.

00:05:34 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 5:

Kind of. And then eventually I would say that I have a girlfriend and then it kind of went away. But I definitely in the beginning didn't do that.

00:05:41 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 4:

I have respect for you for saying that because honestly I've done the same thing too and I haven't said anything. But I would talk to people and you'd be having conversations and you'd be like, man, this does not feel right. And I think you always have to ask that question. Is this something that you would actually like in a group chat send? to with your wife on the group chat. You know what I mean? Right.

00:06:03 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 2:

Is this a way that you would act if your partner was in the same room?

00:06:08 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. And I think intent matters also. Like if you're not saying it because you want to come off as single, then obviously that's wrong. Yeah.

00:06:16 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

Well, and the secretly messaging to...

00:06:17 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 3:

What's that, Lydia? I'm sorry.

00:06:19 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 7:

Can I add my input on it for a minute?

00:06:20 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 4:

Sure. Go ahead.

00:06:21 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 7:

If you don't want your significant other seeing who you're following or liking that said person's post, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

00:06:30 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah, absolutely. That's a great one. Well, that is micro-cheating right there, right? That is definitely micro-cheating. Are we speaking to somebody specifically?

00:06:38 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 3:

It sounded like it came from a diary. Ex-boyfriends.

00:06:41 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 4:

Ex-boyfriends, okay. So they've done that. Do you ever talk to any of your ex-boyfriends?

00:06:47 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 7:

No, definitely not.

00:06:49 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 4:

Wait a second. Cut them off. Are you being honest?

00:06:54 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, I'm being honest.

00:06:55 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 4:

Why are you giggling and laughing?

00:06:58 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 2:

There's one.

00:06:59 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 5:

There's one that she's not telling us

00:07:01 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 2:

He's got this big smile on her feet

00:07:03 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 7:

There's one I'm on like decent terms But we just don't talk out of respect for gas station Busted

00:07:11 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

By the way We just backed you right into that corner didn't we We backed that bus up right there And we just rolled right over your ass Hey listen I will say this That all these things you got to sit there and have to think about but micro cheating is the thing that will end up leading to more cheating you know and you got to be uh you got to be careful about it um and and you know what the problem is i think that we live in a society right now where it doesn't make a difference if people know that you have a relationship or it doesn't make a difference if you are in a relationship and know that you have a relationship that's true people want to be wanted right and when you want to be wanted what ends up happening yeah you know you end up

00:07:58 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 3:

letting your guard down a little bit some people want you even more when you're in a relationship

00:08:01 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

yeah a couple texters that are texting in right now saying uh i actually caught my husband cheating through all of the things that you just said the social media posts the having the conversations with somebody without telling me and then the you're not invited that's the one thing that you don't realize that's a big one yeah that's a big one yeah where you don't realize that you're

00:08:26 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

actually some of those i agree with more than others but that's a big one yeah that that one right there you know that a person that you like hanging out with is going to be there oh yeah

00:08:35 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 4:

and you going have you ever had that where you went somewhere knowing that somebody was going to be there and you go you go there to see that person and they are there and then you think to yourself uh-oh this is not good i bumped into them and now i got to make an excuse as to why i was

00:08:54 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 5:

there i haven't cut that off right away huh i was waiting for you guys to go yeah i remember
