Yeah. Can you tell me, lovely women of the age, if you're getting invited to these, am I being naive or is this just what they cost now? Because a listener reached out to me for info on Gatlinburg, Tennessee, down in the Smoky Mountains. She saw on my Instagram that I was down there a couple months ago. And she and her friends are going down for a bachelorette party. So after I congratulated her on saving the money of not going full-blown crazy in Vegas like some do, she's like, oh, no, it's flashy as F. She said, we're renting a private jet, and each girl has to contribute $1,800 for it to get the jet. And then they're also giving $1,000 each for this big cabin they're renting. They're going horseback riding, whitewater rafting. Then they're stopping in Nashville for a night on the way home to get drunk with guys and dance with strangers. So can you imagine spending about $5,000 for a bachelorette party weekend?

Who can't? I know. I don't understand what bride thinks this is pizza.

Yeah. Like the honeymoons aren't as nice.

And we've talked about how excessive gender reveals are. Yeah. Parties for things we didn't used to have parties for. Even senior prom proposals are stupid. But the bachelorette party, $5,000 a girl. And to rent a private jet, I'm like, just for a weekend.

definitely not as extravagant as the last person but um my girlfriend went to shop sale for a um And the bachelor party had to pay, like, over $2,000 for a hotel and stay and then had coordinated outfits for lunch and dinner for, like, four days. Oh, that's crazy.

See, that actually is expensive, too. The whole we're going to go to an expensive city like Scottsdale or Nashville or Vegas. A buddy of mine just went to a bachelor party. He had it also. They Airbnb'd a, like, place in Scottsdale. They went out to, like, all these really fancy restaurants to go to eat. And he said the entire time that he was there, he was like, this is costing me so much money because the problem is you end up when you're in a bachelor party or bachelorette party thing, you don't pay, you don't let the bride or the groom pay for anything.

Yeah, you're treating them too.

And then after a while, you're like, okay, I got to stay at a place. I got to do all this stuff.

And for girls, you usually have to bring a gift, right? There's usually like a, you bring lingerie or whatever. So there's that component to it as well. It's crazy.

Bro, I would end friendships over stuff like this. Yeah. Like, it's so inconsiderate. I don't understand. Unless you're footing the bill, how can you ask this of somebody?

Jessica, would you ever say I'm not going to be in the bridal party if you found out this ahead of time? Like, I think people should have to lay out what their bachelorette, bachelor party responsibilities are going to be.

I was going to say, I feel like it depends on the person. It depends on their relationship to me. But I feel like if I was asked, I probably would. But in places like Nashville and Scottsdale, when you have to pay for all of that stuff up front, alcohol is so expensive. You're putting a bill for a lot of alcohol out on the town. You're spending a lot of money and food and all of that. So it's not cheap when you're going to places like that.

This girl said they're bringing a crate of champagne on the plane for the cabin. so they have a whole crate, a case, because they're going to go through it over the weekend.

And again, they're flying private on a private plane. Oh, my God. Can I tell you what my bachelor party was? It was in the back of Tonino's Pizza Place. And it was, we had a stripper.

I was going to say, I remember the story about the stripper.

She was the most expensive part of the entire thing, but we got a couple family-style pizzas. They were delicious.

Mike, there were families eating. And they had, so you know those, you know the dividers that you have, like doors, dividers that pull out of the wall, like those things? Oh, yeah, the pocket door. But it was an accordion pocket door. There was an accordion pocket door in this restaurant that was the only thing dividing a 12-year-old and 13-year-old little boy at a table with mom and dad seeing boobies.

of something like this yeah so um the last wedding I stood up in uh we went to Chicago for the bachelorette party um bride was a real tyrant and um basically she just ended friendships over the bachelorette party on the car ride home um because I was driving and a couple of the girls called her out um for you know things about cost um on the trip and she didn't like it and she said well i guess it's a good thing because now i'm just not gonna mail your wedding invites out

man it's like you're sitting here getting a bunch of your friends giving you the honest truth and you're choosing the craziness over the friendship you're saying this is this is what we have to do it has to be crazy and you're losing your best friends over it well like even in

party that you guys are going to so she wanted to go to cancun and between all of us it was going to be about 1500 for just the flight and then about 400 each for the airbnb not including you know when they go out food and drink um and then i got a text from the maid of honor she said hey we're trying to save money so we're going to go to tampa instead so i looked up flights for that They're about $850, and she said it was going to be about $500 for the Airbnb for that. And I'm like, so I'm probably saving money here. It's about the same. So I told the bride I couldn't go, and she was actually very nice about it. But I was like, I can't go spend $3,500, $3,000 on a two-night stay somewhere.

And that's part of the problem, too, is I feel like it puts people in a really unfortunate situation. of like they like you want to be there for her you want to be a part of the celebration but you can't and then you feel like a bad friend and then you have FOMO the entire time that it's happening so it's just like this like snowball effect of yuckiness because of of you know where

it is and what's happening here's what I would like to do I would like anybody that has to go to one of these bachelorette parties like yourself uh Kelsey I would like you to make them sign a prenuptial agreement with you and that is if their marriage doesn't last more than five years they've got to pay you back for all the expenses that you had that's logical man that's the worst conversation to have could you imagine it's like wait a second i'll tell you what i'm not going to do this but maybe on your five-year wedding anniversary if you guys are still together

we will rent a house in cancun mexico oh my gosh there's my brother my husband lost his brother over a bachelor party. That's great. Like, you don't talk to your own brother because they didn't agree on what party you're throwing? Don't people know that gas prices are high?
