I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four year.

We went and got some sushi. And then after sushi, I'm, you know, kind of leaving the sushi place and I'm driving home. and I drive by the high school that's by our house and the middle school that's over there. And as I'm driving home, the school buses are all pulling out. You know, there's like a bajillion school buses and when you get behind them, you're stuck for a while because, you know, there's a million of them. And there's the kids that are in the back of the bus and I'm just sitting there paying attention to the road and listening to music and stuff. And then I look up and I go, I think that kid's flipping me off. And there was a kid from one of the schools and it wasn't the high school. So he's a younger kid and he's looking out the window at me and he's doing this to me He's like flipping me off and then double flipping me off give me double birds at that time And I'm like, what did I do? And I did one of these looks like me and he's like Come on, did you get to it back? No, I'm not going to flip it off

What did I do? Like you did something to a kid that deserved to get flipped off

I'm like, why is he flipping me off?

Did you feel like you were at work?

I kind of thought to myself, I'm like, this kid would be Megan's kid If Megan had kids, this is Megan's kids. Or this would be Megan when she was in school.

If you're new to the show, I literally flip everybody up to the point where somebody left me an I love you sticky note with a middle finger on it.

So rude. I'm like, this is crazy. I got to follow this bus. Wait, wait, what? I was set to turn. I was supposed to turn on Pontiac Trail. And I said, I'm not turning on Pontiac Trail. I'm going to continue to follow because I'm going to wait until that bus empties out. And that little son of a bitch comes off at me. I'm going to be like, what the heck's going on? So I'm driving. I'm following the bus. It makes a stop in one of the neighborhoods. I'm like, I'm going to drive around the neighborhood while the kid was on the back of the bus for a while. And he's still flipping me off. And he's probably wondering what's going on. Oh, my God. That's so funny. But it got me thinking to myself. I remember when I was a kid on a bus, we used to do bad bus things. And I wanted to reminisce a little bit.

How many of you guys rode a bus? Because it seems like nowadays kids don't ride buses as much anymore. Like their parents drive them.

i was always the first and last stop it was awful me and my brother would sit on the bus for like an hour yeah we'd have to get up get to the bus stop so early and mama kp would get so mad if we missed the bus because i've never been a morning person ever my mom has to literally dump water on me to get me out of bed and i missed the bus and i remember crying all the way like mom i missed the bus she's like well you gotta find a way to get to school man she's by by the way she tough

mom i like that uh jacob and joe used to complain that they were the first to get picked up in the morning and the last to get dropped off it made no sense but the bus driver did the route where our house was always and it would always screw them every single time your kids ride a bus don't

Ride to school, they're like the last stop on the way to school, so it's a super quick ride. But on the way home, they get out of school at 3.45, roughly. They don't get home until usually 4.25. Isn't that crazy? That's a long time. They're on the bus for a really, really, really long time.

Mojo on the morning show?

We used to have a kid. I will never forget. And I won't say his name because I think he still lives in the area. But he used to always put his bare butt out of the bus.

And we had this bus driver named Marianne, and she was so sweet. Sit down in your seat! Only to him, because he was so bad.

off back i give them a thumbs down just anger them a little bit like they you don't know what the appropriate thing to do is yeah i just lean up really close to the window and just give my

thumbs down and keep pointing down and they get pissed off yeah my brother used to get kicked off

of buses all the time and one of his things that he used to do was he would get off the bus early and on a winter day when there's still ice or snow on the ground he would get off and then grab the back of the bumper of the bus and he would like i don't know if it's called skeetching or skitching or whatever it is he would grab on the back and he would have his feet touching the ground sliding on the thing being pulled by the bus well the bus would be driving 45 miles an hour and my brother bill's holding on to the back of the bus until the bus driver finally figures out what's going on and then finally he got kicked off the bus and my poor mom as she's like battling cancer had to drive him to and from school all the time. 844 Mojo live 844-665 6548 Texas 95500 a texter from 248 says Mojo I know you live in West Bloomfield I gotta tell you that could have been my kid. if you were in the back of the bus that's where the lit all activities happen back the kid bus kids would get moved to the front they'd have special assigned seats in the front with their name and the bus drivers the bus driver would always call even if they were sitting in the front somebody was doing something bad in the back they'd be like hey look i'm oh you're right

Well, I had a science seat in the front seat, you know, and then it was a substitute teacher, a bus driver, and I didn't put all the windows up, which I only put my window up, and they told me I couldn't get off, so I jumped out the emergency exit. Oh, my God. Was it a safe landing? Yes, it was.

Not much, man. I was going through the city, and this bus driver cut me off. It was a school bus full of little kids and everything. Next thing I know, I'll blow my horns loud, my angry horn. And then the other thing I know, the bus driver flips me off.

My name is Metarica, Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, But some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

Allen Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting and design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me to be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you.
