Follow that, follow Mojo in the Morning, and of course, SNX and Kiss too. Cav's got a beef. Who's the beef with? Man, my son's barber.

00:01:55 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 2:

why are you beefing with your son's barber is your son's barber not your barber no he's not my barber okay um and it's interesting because you never want or at least i never want to put a person that has that much control over me in a negative state i'm always very cautious of my barber's energy where he's at mentally because i feel like the the better that he's doing the better his job will be i totally agree with this you know what i'm saying yes and it kind of so i was kind of in this barber beef i wasn't trying to be fully beefed out so to speak or have an aggressive tone because he was in control of my son's hair but the beef is and i would love for people who you know are hair care professionals or nail techs should a person come to the hair salon with certain things already together because that is what he told me for my son he said that now josiah has a lot of hair on his head and after josiah is one of these kids like just taper which kind of means fade up the sides of his heads the back line them up and let the top do its thing now the few times that i've taken him to this particular barber he's done just that but at the end of it he'll pick out josiah's hair and then he'll use like this sponge brush and kind of like curl up the top and he's done so without any problem or without any communication that it was a problem now this particular time when josiah sits down he says hey man uh i just want to let you know like it's not my responsibility to pick out his hair and do the sponge thing i'm just supposed to take care of it i'm like i'm paying for the haircut he was like i understand that but it's not my response i'm like then i point at his sign i'm like that it's full service right that's what the sign says i'm expecting full service he's like i understand that but if you're not paying for it i'm like well do you just need an extra couple of dollars like am i am i selecting the wrong prompt or the wrong option and then it started to get to a little point and he's like all right hold on let me let me think about it and then we start talking about something else and he came back he's like all right yeah just throw me a couple of dollars but in my mind it's not like i brought him with his hair dirty or something like just pick out

00:04:08 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 1:

the hair and do the little sponge see i i don't know i only know like what it's like for me to go get my hair cut so i don't know what it is for josiah or you to get your hair cut but what i'm going to ask you is this would it be like if i brought luke and he his hair was a mess because if i brought luke like that because luke goes to the same person that cuts my hair katrina we're gonna see her today for smith if his hair is a mess or smith's hair is a mess smith's hair is a mess. Usually Luke pulls a hat off and just goes and they wash his hair and they do it. But is it different for a white kid than it is for a black kid? I mean, I don't have no white kids.

00:04:45 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I don't even know why I asked you

00:04:49 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

that way. Is what he did to Josiah's hair considered styling? Is that considered styling? I would say yes. Because that's where I, like Megan and I can equate

00:05:00 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 3:

If we, if I, like I just went and got my hair done, shout out to Kelly Sessi at One Society in Northville. I've been going to her forever. But if I went to her and I got my hair like cotton colored, but if I then said, hey, can you like curl it or do all these other things, that would be considered styling, which is a different service and another charge.

00:05:20 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 7:

Now how long does curling your hair take?

00:05:22 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 3:

Does time factor in? For me, for me, it's quick because I have short hair, but for Megan, that would be a process.

00:05:28 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, shout out to Dylan at Fiber and Strand. because that's in Toledo there we go you're welcome but cut color and style are three different charges and bookings when you make the appointment so if I go get my hair done I'll get a blowout or if I pay for a style I'll get a hairstyle when I leave because a blowout is faster so it's more of their time

00:05:46 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 7:

okay I don't know I feel like y'all is a whole women are a whole different category

00:05:50 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 2:

because it doesn't fit your current narrative

00:05:52 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 8:

but also I think it is a different one though for kids especially if you know you got But Josiah's got a good head of hair, you know. What's up, Cal?

00:06:04 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 6:

Hey, what's up? How y'all doing?

00:06:06 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 8:

Good morning. Kev's got an issue with the barber.

00:06:09 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I was calling because I know when I've had my afro and I went to get my hair cut, the barber, at least who I was going to, they always take my hair out and they did the storm scrub. So it's very confusing why somebody would make you pay extra for something that's really not that much work. That's what I'm saying. That's crazy.

00:06:26 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 7:

He said I should come with Josiah's hair already picked out, already sponged, if that's what I want. Because what I'm paying for is just for him to touch it up a little bit.

00:06:39 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 6:

No, because I've been to get my hair cut, and I've had froze. And when I got there, they picked my hair out, cut my hair, and did the sponge thing. So he just sounded like he tried to squeeze out a few extra dollars. Thank you, Kayla.

00:06:50 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 2:

I'm confused if this is happening at the beginning of the service or the end. Is this how he is finishing?

00:06:55 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 6:

This was when they picked my hair in the beginning, you know, to make sure it was all right. And then at the end, after they lined it up, they did the sponge. So I guess it was beginning and at the end. But my point is still, it sounded like that man was trying to squeeze extra dollars out. Yeah. But the point. More money for less stuff.

00:07:14 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 8:

Yeah. Yeah. Dwayne, what's up?

00:07:19 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

Hi, guys.

00:07:20 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 8:

Dwayne's a barber. Is that right, Dwayne?

00:07:22 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 5:

Part-time barber, yeah.

00:07:24 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 8:

Okay.

00:07:24 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 7:

Give me your side of things.

00:07:26 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, you're 100% right, Kev. Like the guy said the last time, you sit in a chair and they pick your hair out. That's happening on top. And then the style, like I said, it only takes a couple seconds to do, so it's not a big deal. I don't understand what's going on with this barber. You sound a little high profile to me, Kev.

00:07:44 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 8:

Here's the thing I don't understand, Kev. I take my kids go to the same person that I go to. Why do you not use the same barber that you go to for Josiah? His mom didn't like how he was cutting her hair.

00:07:55 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 7:

I feel like some barbers have the ability to cut adult hair and children hair. I don't know if every barber has that ability. Some guys should just deal with adults.

00:08:08 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 8:

Well, you know what? The only time I think that a kid should go to a kid place is when they sit on a merry-go-round or whatever. They used to have a place called Carnival Cuts in Novi, 12 Oaks Mall. It was like the coolest thing ever. I wanted to get my hair cut there when I took the kids there. Heather, what's up? Hey, Kevin to Chief Pepper.

00:08:25 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 4:

Kevin's a cheap tipper. Yes. That father remembered you, and he is already irritated because you didn't tip him good, and now he has to tip him. Look at Kev's face.

00:08:34 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 7:

All right, so let me ask you this. Let me ask you this, Heather. If the cut costs $20, how much should the tip be?

00:08:43 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 3:

For a child, at least $5. Thank you. That's what I tip. That's what I would tip. On a $20 haircut, I'd tip $5.

00:08:50 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 8:

I'm there. $20 is pretty cheap for a haircut. Give him a 10. $5.

00:08:54 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 7:

He's not cutting cutting. Again, he lining up, tapering the sides, and he complaining about doing a little sponge and pee.

00:08:59 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 8:

Oh, my God. By the way.

00:09:01 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 4:

Well, then now you got to pay extra. Apparently, it wasn't enough pickle, because that's why he wants to charge you extra.

00:09:07 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 8:

And Kev talking about this on the radio, that kid, I will never be sitting in that chair ever again, as long as I'm his uncle. I'm not allowing that.

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 7:

We go on Saturday.

00:09:15 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 8:

No. That guy's going to give your kid the worst haircut ever, and Josiah deserved better than that.

00:09:20 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

Big ball spot right in the back. Yeah, right.

00:09:24 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 8:

Exactly.
