Modo Casino, American Social Casino. Mojo on the Morning Show. Has anybody ever bought something that they think was hot? Have you ever bought something that you thought was stolen merchandise? yesterday i came this close i think to doing that all right and i'll explain so i went to kroger and i parked in the parking lot and as i was getting out of my car i'm very cautious sometimes in a parking lot a i don't want to hit anybody especially in a you know shopping mall you know kroger meyer walmart target parking lot because there's a lot of people walking around and b i always have a fear that i'm gonna get carjacked i don't know why that is i feel like that's you know something that's gonna happen so i'm getting out of my tahoe i get out of the car and i you know walk from behind because of the store was at the tail end of my car and a guy goes hey how you doing and i'm like oh and i thought to myself here's my wallet here's my keys just take it just Don't kill me. I've got kids. I've got a wife. I don't know. I'm a good man. All right. And he goes, hey, you want to buy an iPad mini? And I go, huh? He goes, do you want to buy an iPad mini? And he has an iPad mini in his hand. Like, literally, the box with the iPad. Shrink wrapped or open? It was shrink wrapped. Okay. Yes. Well, no, it wasn't shrink wrapped. I'm trying to think of shrink wrap. No, it was in the box.

00:04:10 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 5:

Okay.

00:04:10 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 7:

But it did not have the shrink. So that's, yeah. Good for you, by the way. Good for you on that. Because I didn't even think about that. Because that was actually my thought. I was thinking, I'm going to buy this damn thing. I want an iPad mini. I would love to have an iPad mini. He goes, $200 for the iPad mini. And he goes, and it doesn't stop right there. I have got, and he holds up, a can of baby formula.

00:04:31 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 6:

Oh, Lord. Oh, wow.

00:04:32 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

What is it? Infamel or something like that? Infamel. Infamel, yeah. Okay. He's got a can of baby formula.

00:04:38 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 6:

So he just robbed a place.

00:04:41 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 7:

And he says, I got a discount on both. And I go, well, I don't have young babies.

00:04:46 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 6:

Five-finger discount.

00:04:47 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 7:

I don't have young babies, so I don't need the, you know, the baby formula.

00:04:52 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

You should have been like, oh, my gosh, I'm so in love. What am I, lucky day. I have an infant at home that needs baby formula and has asked me for an iPad. No.

00:05:00 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 3:

Now I don't need to go into the store. So we're walking through the parking lot and walking our way up as this guy is still talking to me and stuff. And I'm kind of thinking to myself, well, I'd like to at least explore what the price of this iPad is. One moment a second ago, I'm thinking the guy's carjacking me. The next second, I'm actually doing business. We are doing business with each other. So he tells me that the iPad was $200, and he said that the baby formula was $20, okay? But he wanted to do a special if I wanted to buy both the iPad, the baby formula, and then some other stuff that he had. But here's his explanation. He bought all this stuff thinking he needed it, and he was trying to basically sell everything. Instead of having to go and list it online on Facebook Marketplace, He figured that he would just look for people That wanted to buy stuff And he said I looked like a guy that would want to buy it You look like a sucker Got it written right over my forehead Right So I sat there and I talked to him for just a second As I was still walking up to the store Because I didn't stop my walk Because I'm thinking if I stop my walk The cops are going to pull up next to us And the next thing you know they're going to arrest both of us For what we're doing So I said no no no No problem And I went into the store and I did my shop and I had to go get some cottage cheese and some other things. And I come out of the store and the guy is sure as crap. He's following another guy. No takers yet. Yeah. Well, I think he might have had a few of those. I'm guessing. Maybe he did. He's like, you know what it is? He's like the Girl Scout cookie salespeople that always get you. I always try to go to the other entrance just to make sure that I- It's going to be me in a couple of weeks. Is that really? Yeah. Has anybody ever bought from these people? And did it turn out to actually be a bad item or a good item?

00:06:51 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 4:

I can say this now because they're not around anymore. But I always was under the impression that everything you could buy at Gibraltar Trade Center, the only place where you could be eating fudge and getting your ass tattooed at the same time, was stolen. Like you walked in there and everything looked hot to me. Speakers.

00:07:12 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 3:

Megan, let me tell Megan and Mike what Gibraltar Trade Center is.

00:07:16 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 4:

I'm so interested.

00:07:18 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 3:

It's like a, it was like a flea market. Indoor. Yeah.

00:07:21 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

But anything that you could buy, like a lot of people went there to buy stuff for their car, they would have gun shows, they would have record shows, they had lots of like collectible hobbyist sort of things. Sporting goods. But there was always an area with like TVs and, you know, car or whatever to like trick out your car. And I would always look at that section and go, hmm, where'd that go from? That's filled with bricks.

00:07:46 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 3:

And you're not wrong, by the way. You could get your ass tattooed there.

00:07:49 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 4:

And be eating fudge at the same time. One booth right here, the next booth right next to it. It doesn't exist anymore. No, there were two of them. I would have to be more sad.

00:07:56 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 1:

They have weekend public markets. Oh, they do? No, Mount Clemens is still open.

00:08:00 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 4:

I was going to say, the one downriver.

00:08:02 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 3:

Is Dixieland still open? Remember the Dixieland market? No, I don't think so. The famous dog that flew away there? Chihuahua. That we had on our show.

00:08:11 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, there was a storm, a windstorm that took away a pet chihuahua, and we partnered with the Oprah Winfrey Show, of all people. To find it, yeah. We actually had a pet psychic find the dog.

00:08:22 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 3:

It was amazing. And then we got fudge and tattoos, right?

00:08:26 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

Same.

00:08:27 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 3:

Pam? Yes. How you doing?

00:08:29 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 2:

I'm doing good. How are you doing?

00:08:31 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 3:

I'm doing okay, Pam. You sound like a nice lady that might have been approached by some guy trying to sell an iPad and baby formula.

00:08:39 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. My ex-fiancé and I were approached for a TV set, and he bought it. And when we got home, and it was covered up and in a box. It was all wrapped nicely. Got home and opened it, and it was an old TV that didn't work.

00:08:59 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. The worst. Yep. You know what?

00:09:03 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 2:

$200 later.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 3:

Down the drain, right?

00:09:07 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 2:

Yep, absolutely.

00:09:08 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 3:

At least it wasn't a box of rocks, though, because I hear that that's the thing that they always throw in there. People will always say, be careful, it's not a box of rocks. I'm like, really? They put rocks in there, and nobody shakes it to see what it feels like?

00:09:20 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 1:

Well, that's when I bought hot speakers. I thought they're going to be full. This box is full of rocks for sure.

00:09:24 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Will you ever do it again, Pam? No, no. Will you ever stop? No, you too, Spike. Spike, will you ever do it again?

00:09:30 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 1:

No, because the whole feeling when I was driving home was, I just got taken. I just got home. I mean, I was in college, so I was ready to pay anything for speakers that I didn't have to spend full price for. But I was lucky that time that I actually had speakers, but I wasn't going to do it again.

00:09:46 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 3:

David, what did you almost buy that you know is hot?

00:09:50 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 2:

Snowmobiles.

00:09:51 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 3:

Really? How did that come about? That's a hard thing to approach somebody in a parking lot for.

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

Well, it was a friend that we knew.

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 7:

had a couple of snowmobiles that, oh, we need cash, and the price was real good. Well, we took the information to the state to get them registered, come back stolen. Oh, boy.

00:10:08 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 8:

And that's what I was worried about with an iPad. I wonder, you know, nowadays you've got to register every one of those Apple devices with the serial number and everything. I wonder if they disable it or they somehow know you don't own it.

00:10:19 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 10:

Well, that was the thing. Remember we talked on the show during Trending News about how people are trying to steal your phones and your iPads from you by you just punching in your password and then they get the thing and change everything up on you.

00:10:33 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 8:

So did you not get the snowmobiles?

00:10:36 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 7:

No, we turned them into the state and we had the sheriff go back to my buddy's house and arrest him. He got a year in prison. Wow.

00:10:43 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 10:

And that was a buddy of yours.

00:10:45 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, it was someone we knew that we went snowmobiling with. We actually thought they were his and we just, okay, that's a nice deal. Fairly new. hot machines and well they were hot see i don't know why if this makes me more ethical or if i'm

00:10:59 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 8:

just trying to tell myself in my head but if i if i buy something i think is stolen that fell off the truck of a big national box store it doesn't bother me as much as if i buy a snowmobile that i know belonged to somebody and they ripped it off out of their home driveway or something you know like that's still me i feel like it's more there's it's not right i know they're both they're

00:11:18 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 10:

not victimless crimes but it's like the people that that are looting you know you see all these People, they will loot buildings and stuff like that. What's up, Christy? Hey, Mojo. How are you today? Good. You had the same thing happen to you in a Walmart parking lot?

00:11:33 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. So, like, we were walking into Walmart. It was during pandemic. Things were kind of, like, still really locked down. And there was, like, a big truck. And as I walked past the big truck, there was this guy who caught me way off guard. And he was like, hey, do you need some Clorox wipes and some toilet paper?

00:11:49 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 1:

Oh, lordy.

00:11:50 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 3:

Toilet paper and Clorox wipes Out of the vacuum of his Reached out by this But at the same time none of the stores had them So I bought it

00:12:01 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 10:

I thought you said you want some crack pipes And some toilet paper

00:12:05 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 3:

No that's what I thought

00:12:06 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 10:

Did you say crack pipes or Clorox wipes

00:12:09 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 3:

Clorox wipes I thought you said crack pipes too I'm so sorry Clorox wipes It was much more necessary at that time We all needed it.

00:12:21 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 10:

Yeah, that's true. That's amazing. Yeah. Jamie, your baby daddy does this for a living?

00:12:28 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. He works, and he also does. And then he sells it.

00:12:32 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 10:

Does he make a lot of money selling it, and are the items that he's selling hot?

00:12:37 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 4:

I mean, it depends. If you tell him you want, say if you want an individual game out, if he can get it, he'll sell it at cash price or headphones that's his biggest thing.

00:12:48 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 10:

Really?

00:12:49 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 8:

Did he sell you the phone you were calling this on?

00:12:52 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 10:

Mike, what's the latest video game that you want? Want to see if her baby daddy has it?

00:12:57 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 6:

Well, let me see. There is a new Call of Duty.

00:13:00 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 4:

I mean, he got the Harry Potter one. Uh-oh.

00:13:05 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 10:

Now you're tempting us. We were talking about the Gibraltar Trade Center. Sarah, what's up?

00:13:12 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 12:

Morning, guys. Love you. We love you, too. We love you, too. So, Megan, I just wanted to let you know that you don't have to worry about Gibraltar because it's being turned into a massive dispensary.

00:13:25 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 3:

Oh, wait.

00:13:27 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 10:

I'm now more interested than I was before that. But they have to still give you fudge and tattoos there.

00:13:34 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 3:
