All right, it's Mojo in the morning. Do you guys remember yesterday when we ended up getting the phone call? We were in the midst of a topic, and what was the topic we were talking about at the time? I remember when Tanya called.

I'm looking at my show sheet from yesterday to try to... It was the pee bottle.

The pee bottle. That's right. That's right. I totally forgot that. So we're in the middle of the topic where we were talking about Josiah and the pee bottle. And then we ended up getting a phone call from a listener by the name of Tanya.

I got a question for you, Mojo. I've been trying to reach the staff here for about two years now. Me and my kids have been homeless. I lost my home, my vehicle, and everything. We've been sleeping in my vehicle. So I had a lady from the Presbyterian Church downtown send you guys letters, but it's been so much tragedy going on with other people. I just felt like my problem wasn't that big, being homeless and, you know, sleeping in my car. It's people dining out here. But if somebody could.

Tanya, real quick, just stop right there. Where are you? Where are you right now?

I'm in Mount Clemens right now. Me and my family are homeless.

Lydia.

Yes.

Let's write her a check for breaking and entering Christmas wish. Let's get her somewhere to stay.

Okay. Tanya, can you, do you have the ability to, I mean, I don't know, what were your plans

today? What are you doing today? I had no plans today. My transmission went out on my car. We're just messed up this year. I lost everything that I own, me and my kids. I lost

everything. Lydia, how far is Mount Clemens from, because I'm going to give Lydia a ride home today because she doesn't have a car today. How far is Mount Clemens from Macomb? It's not that far, right? Only five minutes. Tanya, Lydia and I personally are going to drop a check off to you today. Thank you so much. Tanya, stay there. Lydia's going to get information from you so that we can meet up with you, and we're going to make sure this Christmas that you're having a roof over your head, okay?

Tanya, we love you. Hold on one second. Man, that was Tanya. We went to go meet up with her, and we went and met her out in Mount Clemens, right by a park out there. And actually, one of the funniest things was we call her, and we didn't know where she was because there was a bunch of cars that were all sitting around and uh and she goes are you that black car that just went by i'm like yeah pull around so we turn around go back pull up

There's Tanya standing there, beautiful red hair, and we've parked the car, and within five seconds, she jumps in the back of that thing like I was her freaking Uber. She scared the crap out of Lydia. Lydia at first is like, here, Mojo's getting out of the car. Oh, no, you're in the car. Tanya's in the car. Tanya's in the back. What did you say, Tanya? You said, I'm anemic. I'm cold. I need to get in here right now.

What's up, Tanya? Hi. Hi, Mojo. I just wanted to let everybody know that's listening that that was amazing. You're like a celebrity to me. I've been listening to you because I have sons. And I remember when you told me your son came out and you were so accepted and people are committing suicide because their parents won't accept them. And I got five sons. I lost everything. But what you did for me, it helped me wash clothes and at least get some blankets and stuff. You know, I don't have a car. I lost everything. You know, you are just amazing. I don't know who you are, sir. You are better than that radio station in Cal to share his life like that, Lydia. And I love Shannon Little Stout. She is so beautiful. Tanya, I liked you until you just called me Stout. She went through a whole divorce like a soldier. You guys have gotten me through every night that I had to wash up for no speedway. I swear to God, I'm not lying. I tell my kids, I got to get on more joy in the morning. And your phone scales with Spike.

Oh, that was the best. Yeah.

It's just amazing. It's just amazing. And I know God's got me, man. That's right. I know he's got me. That's right.

Tanya, I feel like sometimes in life when we go through things and there's an explanation it can kind of make things easier because we know why we're going through it but then there are times in life where there are no explanations and it makes it that much harder but the fact that you may or may not have an explanation isn't what matters what matters is the fact that you keep going and you have those boys and you haven't given up and the reason why you haven't given up is because there's more life that you're supposed to live and just what happened yesterday the fact that you called in the fact that mojo and lydia pulled up it's just the light that shows that your light isn't out yet. It may be them, but that flame is still burning inside of you, and there's people out here who love you, who are here for you, and God ain't forgot about you.

Tell me, even in the littlest way or the biggest way, you guys are absolutely... You don't understand. Tanya. You're on the radio every day, and you got your whole problems at home, I'm like, hey, I'm breaking up with that lady, and he got the baby.

Tanya's like telling our life story all in one here right now. Tanya, real quick, Tanya. Tanya, I want you to know 2025 is the year of Tanya, and I want you to know that good things are going to happen. You're going to go from being in your car to being in a home, and that's going to be happening, and we're going to keep in touch with you to make sure that that happens. And we love you, love you, love you. and you got our numbers and you know that anything that you need we're there for you but I want you to know that Christmas is next week and the spirit of the season and that light that Kevin was talking about is what you got in your heart. I saw it yesterday and I felt it when you gave me a hug.

This beautiful woman called us up yesterday morning, and she called us up, and she had sent in a letter to us. Actually, she didn't. It was somebody from her church that did. And we went out to go visit her yesterday, and when she came up to us and we said to her here we want to make sure that you have Christmas she wasn't worried about herself she was more worried about us and making sure that we weren't taking time out of our day for her and here's a woman that's living in her car so we love her and we have a great state we got a great group of people that listen to this radio show and Tanya we're there for you okay? We love you

Yeah, you know, that's what it's all about. Thank you, guys, and congratulations on 20 years of granting wishes to the community with your Christmas wish programming. It's really something special and so important. And thank you for giving me a little inspiration this holiday season. That was so powerful.

It's amazing. You know, we we do take for granted sometimes, you know, things when we get upset by finding a parking spot at a store or in a mall. And when you realize that there are those that are going through an illness or going through a financial struggle, it makes you more aware. And that's why, Governor, when we started the breaking entering Christmas wish, honestly, we did it because throughout the year we were a bunch of misfits that got in trouble by our bosses and we wanted to look good. But then it turned out to be something that kind of, you know, morphed into like, hey, you know what? We're going to help out our fellow listeners. And you never know who they are. And sometimes you're working with them on a daily basis and you don't know.

That's right. You know, I think that's, when you think about what Tanya just said, that was so powerful. She said, you know, at least I have a car to sleep in. Some people don't have that. It's an incredible perspective, but, you know, that's why we've got to do more to help people who are struggling. You know, we've got a lot done, but we've got a lot more to do, and that will center everything I focus on this next year, and I'll be thinking about that conversation.

Yeah, thank you, Governor. Appreciate that. Governor, what are we in? How many more? What is it? This is coming to the end. First off, I've got to tell you something. I'm thinking that there is a Washington, D.C. future for you because everybody keeps talking about that now.

Yeah, well, my family and I are not talking about that. I love Michigan. I don't imagine I'll ever leave Michigan. Really? This is the best state in the world. Oh, yeah, I love this place. You know, I don't know what comes next, but I'm just starting the fourth quarter, and anyone who's a Lions fan knows there's a lot that can happen in the fourth quarter.

Well, and that is that is kind of an interesting thing, because as you have seen with, you know, past administrations, usually it's the last year or two of your being the governor because the term limits and stuff where you're able to try to get some things done. And are there a couple of things that you want to get done before the end of this thing?

Yeah, you know, I've already had some good conversations with the legislator leaders about, you know, moving forward.

making sure we stay competitive and doing some more in terms of fixing roads and infrastructure that every one of us relies on. So I think we're up to the task to make this a very productive turn ahead, and I'm looking forward to it.

All right. What are you thinking? You know, we're now in Detroit, so our studios all moved. iHeart moved our studios from Farmington Hills to Eastern Market now is where we're broadcasting. And being in Detroit has been really eye-opening for me, being on the air here for 25 years that we broadcasted from the suburbs which i always thought was a weird thing but obviously the resurgence of the city has helped with that what are your what what are your thoughts on what happened over the last couple of weeks with the mayor deciding he's going to run for governor and he's going to do that as an independent have

have you had any conversations with him about that oh yeah he gave me a heads up before it became public you know mike and i are friends i've got a lot of friends who are either gonna thinking about or getting ready to run for governor and they're all gonna have to you know make their cases with michigan public and i'm not going to get involved in it i'm just going to stay focused on two years of trying to get as much done as i can and then i'll hand it over to whomever wins

the governor's race in 2026 that's got to be super hard though to like have friends that are all saying hey i'm vying for the position what do you think and you're like uh i've had that in radio

where guys wanted to move up to other positions and stuff like that yeah but you almost have to at one point say okay i gotta take a stand but i think if you do that will you say kev for governor

because i think kev what do you think kev would you i think kev knows michigan is like the perfect slogan oh that's pretty good i love it yeah i mean kevin one of my dogs is named after you so you know i am i'm already winning yeah that's a really funny dog name real quick big rich what do you want for christmas and if your husband you know dr mark is still listening and he hasn't got the gift yet and he needs some inspiration what do you want for christmas peace and quiet
