morning brad galley called me yesterday to uh tell me that i am a heartless bastard oh no why he also he also called to tell me that uh he was uh very proud of himself because it was his question that became viral for us he's mad at me because i said that i don't like to see my coach crying after a loss like dan campbell that was a that was one of the posts that we had yesterday up on Instagram and Facebook. But did you know that was Brad's question that got Dan Campbell to cry?

What was the actual question that was asked? Because I only saw Coach's response.

The question was, hey, Coach, how can you embarrass yourself in front of the NFL right now? Go. I don't know what the question was. All I know is this. I'm calling Brad now Barbara Walters from now on. Because wasn't it Barbara Walters or was it Oprah that used to make people cry all the time?

Oh, God, I think. Like both of them. I was going to say, I think it was both of them had their moments. Diane Sawyer, for sure.

I felt like Barbara was always kind of a bitch. She just asked stuff that was inappropriate and rude and kind of off limits. She tried to out people all the time.

But he says to me, he goes, you know, it was like a pin drop could happen in the press room when Dan did that. He got emotional. Everybody, like, that must be like the big thing with these reporters where if they can get the coach to get the sound bite, that's the soundbite that everybody uses, then you get the bite that everybody's all excited about.

We should do a bit with Brad because I feel like he knows all of us pretty well where he comes in and interviews us and sees if he could get us to cry with a question that he asked. Get us to cry? Yeah, because he got Dan Campbell to cry. Okay.

Lydia, call Brad up right now and see if Brad will answer our phone. Yeah, no, great question, man. First off, man, got to give all glory to God. Without him, none of this would be possible. You know, when I look in my son's eyes, not only do I see him, but I try to look through him. And when I look through him, I see myself.

Someone had already asked him to explain and look back on the season. And I just said, can you look back on the journey with the people around you and how tough it's been? You know, you guys go 15-2, but is it tough to put into words the journey of everything that you've been through as a group? And that's when he just lost it, thinking about all the guys.

Question for you, because I think in a world right now where everybody wants to ask the question that's going to go viral, you just said something very interesting. I'd love to get your thoughts. Is it less about you asking and coming in with a preconceived notion and question, trying to get a response, and more about reading the energy of the person that you're asking the question to? Like, how do you go about deciding that?

A little bit of both. Lions fans were frustrated at the end of that game, mad even, not understanding how to deal with it all. But it's a collective effort we have to make in that room to try to get answers to why did you pick that play on third and one when Goff fumbled it, but also how the heck did this 15-2 team just lose to also, you know, how do you sum up everything that just went wrong? So there's a responsibility to it, but also, yeah, you've got to read the person, man, because, like, Goff was tapping the table and didn't want to talk and was very short with his answers, and you could just tell the dude wanted to burst out in emotion, but it's just not who he is. yeah so yeah you have to read the room but you also get the answers that that fans want i'm not a hot take guy i'm not mr i gotta have the question that's there and blah blah blah blah but i just try to unlock those moments for people to get closer to their favorite players or coaches
