Hey, everybody. I'm Tariqa Foster-Brasby. What's up, y'all? I'm your girl, Cheryl Swoops. When you tune in to a new episode of our podcast, Levels to This, you're definitely going to get some spicy WNBA analysis. But we're more than just hoops. And the real conversation is what we actually bring.

00:00:21 - 00:00:32 | Speaker 8:

It's been really, really cool seeing kind of these women just really step into their power off the court and understand that they aren't basketball, right? And they're not asking for permission.

Paul Verzi here, and I want to talk to you about Paul's best podcast. On Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network and iHeartRadio. I sit down each week with a special guest, and we discuss the absolute best of things.

00:00:55 - 00:00:57 | Speaker 2:

It's that, and then there's everything else.

00:00:57 - 00:01:01 | Speaker 7:

Dude, his whole life has sounded like the first drop of a roller coaster.

00:01:02 - 00:01:07 | Speaker 1:

I mean, I can't even tell you, Paul, how crazy it was. It was insane.

We purchased a lawn care company. We went from five clients to 80 clients overnight. Whatever's next for your business, Jobber is built to grow with you. Trusted by the best in blue collar. Mojo in the morning. Got a email from a Mojo in the morning listener. I figured I'd get it before the end of the break because this actually works for only now. I couldn't bring him back after the break and talk about this. It says, Mojo, Spike, Shannon, Megan, Mike, I wanted to ask you guys a question. Is it too late to break up? I have been in a relationship with the same guy for the last year and a half. He has never treated me right. And I don't feel like spending one more minute with him is actually going to make me a better person. Although I worry that it's getting too close to the holidays to do this. Should I wait until after the holidays? You know, I'm kind of torn on this because have any of you guys ever broken up with anybody during the holidays?

00:02:16 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 3:

Yes.

00:02:17 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 2:

Really? You broke up with someone? How close to the holidays?

00:02:19 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 3:

One the very first week of December, and the other, like, literally right after Christmas.

00:02:25 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 2:

Okay, so you wait, wait. Okay, so this is too close. Anybody else in there?

00:02:31 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 3:

Well, I wouldn't call that waiting. I mean, it was, like, the first week of December.

00:02:36 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but that's still at least within a, like, at least a few couple, three weeks. Okay, all right. Like, right now, look at where we're going on. We're 10 days away. Right. Less than. Less than, yeah. KP, didn't you say one time that you broke up with a boyfriend right around Christmas? At what point is it too?

00:02:56 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I did. And I just felt like I didn't want it to keep going and be fake during the holidays. It's such a hard time already when you're with someone else's family. I didn't want to be fake.

00:03:05 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 2:

How soon before Christmas did you break up with him?

00:03:10 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 6:

Oh, boy. Nobody hate me. A week.

00:03:12 - 00:03:17 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God. Wow. So, like, within this time. Come in the studio and tell us about this.

00:03:17 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 4:

I mean, this may not be the popular opinion, but if someone's not into me and wants to break up, I want you to do it now. I don't want you to tell me. I agree with that. I don't care what day it is.

00:03:25 - 00:03:30 | Speaker 3:

I agree with that. Disagree. Don't stretch it out for longer than it should be. Right.

00:03:31 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 4:

It's just as bad to tell me the day after Christmas that you weren't into me and you wanted to break up and you just made me sit around for three days.

00:03:37 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 5:

So you think it's worse to have a little bit of a mediocre holiday than that person be super upset and depressed through the holiday and lonely? You'd be heartbroken either way no no disagree. There's one that's mediocre and one that's devastating

00:03:51 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 6:

I mean, I'm in charge of my own happiness his he's responsible for his own emotions We've been together for almost five years and I just felt like I didn't want to sit through and pretend through the holidays Yeah, and I just wanted to be very upfront and forward. So I did it. Yeah Um, the thing is I gave him my gift. I still love and care for him I gave him his gift. I wanted him to keep it I don't know how he felt. To be honest, I feel like he might have been salty about having to give me mine, but I don't care. Oh, wait a second.

00:04:19 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 2:

He still gave you his gift?

00:04:22 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, because he was like, you can't have your cake and eat it, too. That was one of the comments he said. He's a nice guy.

00:04:26 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 2:

What did you guys give each other? What was the parting gift?

00:04:29 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 6:

Gosh. Oh, I had worked. I was a seasonal employee at Lululemon at the time, so I got him a bunch of really nice stuff. That's expensive stuff. That's a good guess.

00:04:37 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 2:

Even with a discount, it's expensive stuff.

00:04:39 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, and I wanted him to have it because, I mean, I care for him. What did he give you? He got me, actually, it's the purse I wore to work every single day. It's this leather purse from Madewell, which is one of my favorite stores. So he got that for me. Wow. Yeah.

00:04:50 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

All right. So, okay. We have a little bit of disagreement. Megan and I are more the you should wait and fake it, where Spike, Shannon, and KP are-

00:05:00 - 00:05:01 | Speaker 7:

If it's over, it's over.

00:05:01 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 5:

I can't have another day.

00:05:04 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 7:

It's going to be over no matter what. Just don't. Yeah, but I don't want to have it. Yeah, no.

00:05:10 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 4:

Megan, you and I have a heart. You and I are the only ones with a heart.

00:05:13 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 7:

Who would have thought us two out of everybody on the show would be the compassionate ones?

00:05:16 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 4:

Chelsea, if you're going to leave me, don't leave me until after the Christmas. Actually, leave me before the visa bill comes.

00:05:23 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 7:

Plus, if we're being really honest, I've liked most of my significant other's families more than my significant others.

00:05:29 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 5:

I want to spend the holidays with them. I don't want to miss that. That was the hardest part for me with that breakup I would guess I was so close to that family like when he was away from college Like for college, I would be at his parents house eating dinner with them and like yeah my birthday They bring me cake like it was it was just like were they upset with you?

00:05:45 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 4:

Do they they hate you afterwards? So

00:05:47 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 5:

His sister his best or his sister is one of my really good friends And she was kind of give telling me like the inside scoop of what's going on after the breakup because I get it didn't know anymore and she's like yeah they're all really upset about it but in time everybody realized it was the right choice yeah so why do i just you got to pull through why does this judy

00:06:06 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 4:

garland version of the song is always played on every like because she's the queen love like oh he left me and all of a sudden here he comes running back in the snow hold on she's perfection is perfection here we go on here comes kp running back in the snow with her lululemon for him oh Let me do it. Let me make him feel good. All right, so to the listener that says, should I break up or not break up, you guys say?

00:06:32 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 7:

Break up.

00:06:33 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 4:

Megan and I say?

00:06:34 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 7:

Break up, but wait a week. No, break up right now. I'm not saying stick it out forever.

00:06:40 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 2:

Before the end of the show, call us and break up on the air.

00:06:43 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Why don't you just let us do the breaking up for you? We'll help you out.

00:06:47 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

As you go through the holiday season, just remember that the word stressed is just dessert spelled backward. Now overindulge at that Christmas party. This reminder from Mojo in the Morning.
