It's Mojo in the Morning's Breaking and Entering Christmas Wish. Special thanks to everybody that has helped with our Christmas wishes this year. Thank you to our friends at the Imagine Theaters, Clean View, Auto Wash, and Red Robin for all the great support that they have given us. Special thanks to everyone across all of our listening areas of Detroit, Toledo, and Grand Rapids for all the great letters. This morning we're granting a wish in Grand Rapids, Mike, in your hometown. And I understand you have a special visitor that came with you today to do this wish. Mike?

00:02:25 - 00:02:26 | Speaker 5:

Yes, we're here.

00:02:26 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 7:

Are you there? Okay.

00:02:28 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:02:29 - 00:02:31 | Speaker 7:

The fam's hanging out with you today, too?

00:02:32 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, my daughter. Seth Luce here, plus the iHeart family, the sales team, Tim Fagan.

00:02:36 - 00:02:38 | Speaker 7:

Hi, how are you?

00:02:38 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 5:

Awesome. We need to be quiet.

00:02:40 - 00:02:45 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, that's right. Who was that? Was that Kate? Who was that?

00:02:45 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 5:

We have Kate Arnold here. Was that Kate?

00:02:48 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 7:

Who yelled, though? Who's the yeller there?

00:02:50 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 5:

You know that was Kate. Come on. Yeah, that's right. I knew that was her. Oh, my God.

00:02:54 - 00:03:05 | Speaker 7:

When we're told that you actually have to be quiet on this one, we should have probably had Kate, like, a blocker or so away, just so that we didn't get busted, right?

00:03:05 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 4:

Come on now. Come on now.

00:03:07 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 7:

I know. Mike, we also are joined by Amy. Is Amy with us too? Grandma?

00:03:14 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:03:15 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 7:

Hi, Amy. How you doing? Are you excited for today? Amy?

00:03:25 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 4:

Amy.

00:03:26 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 7:

Amy, excited?

00:03:28 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 4:

Are you excited for today? I'm thrilled. I'm nervous, but I'm really excited.

00:03:32 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 7:

I know you are. I know. I had to talk you through a few things last week, but that's okay. We're going to be good, all right? I promise you.

00:03:37 - 00:03:38 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I know. I'll be all good.

00:03:38 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 7:

I promise you. Your grandbabies are going to be okay this Christmas, okay?

00:03:44 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. Yeah, they'll be great.

00:03:45 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 7:

All right.

00:03:46 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 4:

I'm just amazed and very thankful and grateful for all of you people.

00:03:52 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 7:

Oh, we love you. We love you. All right. So here's what we're going to do. Hold on, Mike. Put Mike back on here. Mike, are you there? This has turned into a fun little adventure in Grand Rapids City. Yeah, we're here. We're here. All right. Okay, mute your phone, and we're going to dial up Marie, okay? Okay. All right, here we go. It's Mojo in the morning, breaking and entering Christmas. All righty, here we go.

00:04:21 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 10:

Leave your message for...

00:04:22 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 7:

Uh-oh, went to voicemail. Hold on, we'll try it one more time. She's probably turned her phone off because she heard all the noise outside.

00:04:34 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 10:

Please leave your message for... Oh, boy.

00:04:37 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 7:

Okay.

00:04:37 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 3:

We might have to do knock and plan B.

00:04:38 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 7:

We might have to do, yeah. Mike, get ready for plan B. It's coming here soon. Hold on.

00:04:42 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 3:

If you're watching Facebook Live, is it... I'm not sure if it's on... Oh, I don't think today's is. Please leave your message. Facebook Live, yeah. Okay. Mike's like herding cats trying to get everything done at the front door here.

00:04:53 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 7:

00:05:04 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 2:

And then Amy will have you knock on the door, and we'll have you pass the phone. This is the beauty of Breaking Enter and Christmas Wish, is that the plans all get put together.

00:05:20 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 5:

Can I call her up there? Yeah, she's going to call her, too. Because her apartment's upstairs.

00:05:25 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 3:

00:05:29 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 3:

Okay.

00:05:29 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 5:

We're right out front setting out gifts right now, so we'll be all ready to go once we get her on. And there's somebody up up there. We can see the light on.

00:05:36 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 2:

Okay. The problem is that her phone sounds like it's off. That might be the problem. Yeah, maybe we are. Mike, have you ever picked a lock before?

00:05:56 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 5:

Why do you ask that question? As if you don't know the answer

00:06:00 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 2:

I've learned you always ask questions That you know the answer to

00:06:05 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 5:

They're up there I can see the kids getting ready And I bet she does have her phone Either on mute or off Because But they're moving around up there So we're knocking and trying to call

00:06:19 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 2:

You gotta check this Facebook Live out It's wild It literally is a Facebook Live Where in a moment here you're gonna see flashing police lights from the Grand Rapids Police Department. All right, let's go out there. Let's just go up to the door and let's do this.

00:06:34 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 5:

All right, I'm knocking on the back door. Oh, my. We went to the front door to put the gifts there, but I'm going to the back.

00:06:41 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 3:

Well, now she's definitely going to think the cops are coming.

00:06:45 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 5:

She's surrounded. All right, here we go.

00:06:47 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 3:

00:06:52 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

00:07:46 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 3:

all right it's great because we never know if these families are listeners or not a lot of Sometimes they might not even know who Mike is at first. We're just here to help the people that need it most. But when you see the face on someone and you realize they've been listening to these wishes for years and then they see Mike at their door, oh, it's another level.

00:08:06 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 5:

We should have maybe just talked to her then. I bet she changed.

00:08:08 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I was just thinking. She's now quickly putting on an outfit.

00:08:13 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 2:

All right. We want to make sure she's comfortable. All right.

00:08:22 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 5:

We woke up the neighbors. Here she comes. She's got a little one in her arms and the rest of the family is walking down the stairs.

00:08:32 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 1:

I thought you were just a random guy. I was like, at first they opened it, I'm like, and then I closed it. I was like, oh, my God.

00:08:39 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 5:

Good morning. Oh, my God.

00:08:42 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 1:

Why is I here? Is it what I think it is?

00:08:44 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 5:

Hold on one second. We'll explain that. All right, Mojo, go ahead.

00:08:48 - 00:08:51 | Speaker 2:

Hey, good morning. How are you, Marie?

00:08:52 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

I'm so good, Mojo.

00:08:53 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 2:

Marie, I'm doing great, and I'm so happy that this morning we're going to be talking to you and your beautiful family. We received a letter for our Mojo in the Morning Breaking and Entering Christmas wish program about you. And I want to play for you this letter because your beautiful mom and your, of course, proud grandma read this letter and was struggling and was making all of us cry because she just wants to grant a wish for you guys this holiday season. She's so proud of you. Take a listen. All right? Here you go. Take a listen.

00:09:33 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 4:

Dear Mojo in the morning, my name is Amy, and I'm writing to you about my daughter Marie. Marie is an incredible mom to my five beautiful grandchildren, David, Kelly, Electa, Laidrion, and Broly. Me and the kids have had a rough goal, but Marie was in some severely, extremely toxic relationship, and I'm going to cry.

00:09:54 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

I know you are. That's okay. We're crying with you.

00:09:57 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 4:

I'm sorry.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 1:

Kind of a family plan, you know?

00:10:02 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

Listen, I feel like I'm part of the family. I'm crying with you.

00:10:05 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 1:

Okay, thanks. She dedicated her time to working for her family and being the best mom that she could be. My granddaughter, Adriana, was born at 23 weeks. She was in the NICU for five months straight. We was there every day. It caused a lot of emotional and financial tension in the house at that time. And that's when she started struggling. and she was no longer working because she needed to be with that baby. My grandson, Broly, also has health problems. And Marie was trying to take care of him, and she was also trying to protect her children from a man that she was in a relationship at the time. They were finally able to get away. However, he took everything and pretty much destroyed or sold everything he could. He was in prison at this time. I've watched Marie work so hard to pick up the pieces, and she never gives up. She's a real fighter, and I admire her for that. She's a very hardworking single mom, and she's trying to do it on her own. She's had to live in shelters in the past, and she's lived with friends. And recently, she just got a small apartment, which is really very cool for her and her kids. It's not much, but they make it work, and they're just grateful they can be together at that point. She donates plasma to get extra money to buy groceries, and the kids are needing some clothing at this time. I just wish this would give her a little light at the end of her tunnel, and I believe it will. Mojo, I just want them to have a Christmas to remember. I want to see my daughter smile again, and I wish she smiles, but smile a little more. Thank you, guys. Love you. Sincerely, Amy Norris.

00:11:48 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 5:

Amy, you did great.

00:11:50 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 6:

Thank you. Wow

00:11:53 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 2:

Isn't that beautiful Hey I want you to know

00:12:13 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 6:

Marie Marie there are no greater words That could come out of a Mouth of anybody than to hear your parents talk about how proud they are of you.

00:12:25 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 3:

I know. It really is. Thank you, Mom.

00:12:28 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 6:

And the struggles that you have been through to not give up and to keep it together for those beautiful children has honestly been an inspiration for us this holiday season because I've got to tell you, there are so many of our listeners going through what you're going through right now.
