All right, it's Mojo in the morning show. Not a good weekend for the Tigers this weekend. The Tigers ended up getting swept by the Seattle Mariners. Huh? How did that happen? You know what it is? They had all-star break. That was their kind of thing. They kind of were in the all-star break now, and they've got four guys going to the all-star team, And they just announced that they're going to have three starters, too, including the starting pitcher in the All-Star game.

00:03:01 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 6:

It may not be a bad thing that we got swept, though. I trust the Internet, but I didn't verify this story. But the last time I want to say we won the championship in 84, that year we also got swept by the Mariners. Oh, really? So it could work out in our favor. God, who remembers these statistics? It's so crazy to me. In their underwear in their mama's basement.

00:03:21 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 5:

something kind of big happened though at the uh at the game on friday night uh and it actually is very funny because it brings up then something that happened yesterday that our boss witnessed at the game and i want to bring this up with our listeners on friday night at the game uh former nhl all-star and usa olympic superstar ryan kessler who is a friend of uh of our show and a friend of mind was at the game with I think he had like 20 of his family members that came in town so he basically was hosting like all this family he's from Livonia Ryan's a local guy really good guy kind of a kind of an a-hole on the ice but a nice guy in person great family guy so they go to the game and he and his wife Andrea host their family members and they buy tickets out in the bleachers in the outfield and the Mariners ended up just destroying the Tigers and they were hitting bombs all night long well one of them went to the area where those guys were all sitting and ryan kessler caught the home run ball with one hand and grabbed it from his bare hands and then threw it back into the uh the field of play afterwards is that bad no it's it's basically you saying i don't want it i don't want a souvenir from another team uh when i say is it bad i guess no it's not it's it's not illegal like masturbating on an airplane it's frowned upon it's frowned upon but um but he did it and it was actually hysterical because people recognized him when he did

00:05:00 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 3:

He's done it again! Are you kidding me? Yeah. Yeah, it stunk. And then, look at this guy.

00:05:13 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 2:

This guy said, I don't want that.

00:05:15 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 3:

Right back. The best, though, is he's wearing a white T-shirt. He's got his muscles blowing out. He's got his hat backwards. He grabs it with one hand. He throws it back in with a scowl on his face. So it went viral and because people started recognizing him going, I think we know who that guy is. He's a professional athlete. So that happened on Friday's game. Tony Travato, our boss, went to yesterday's game. And this is where the topic comes into play. Tony was sitting also in the same area. It's good to see Tony Travato and Ryan Kessler getting real people seats, you know, and not sitting in the boxes. Right. Not sitting in the rich people seats like Wes and Lydia did the other night. Those priority waste seats that were there. Well, Tony was sitting behind two guys, and I sent this picture to you guys in my prep. Look at these two guys, Shannon. This is priceless stuff. These two guys at the game, and they're sitting there right by Tony Travato, and look what they got on their hands.

00:06:19 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 1:

Oh, their gloves.

00:06:20 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

They're wearing baseball gloves. Yeah. Classy. Grown men. Grown men. Two of them together. Look at that. One wearing a Kirk Gibson 23 jersey, the other one wearing a...

00:06:30 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 1:

Okay, so is that frowned upon for grown men to have gloves? Terry Scoogle 29 jersey. I know a lot of kids, I see a lot of kids when I go to games have them.

00:06:37 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 3:

I don't think that you as a grown man can go to a baseball game with a glove. Really? Unless you have a child with you, and there was no child with these guys.

00:06:46 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I don't go to that many baseball games, so I'm not sure of the etiquette, so to speak, but I could see where it could be a little weird.

00:06:55 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

I don't find it weird because I feel like they're just hardcore baseball fans unless there's a kid nearby and they catch a ball and don't give it to the kid. And they keep it for themselves. Then I have a problem with it.

00:07:08 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 3:

Well, that's funny because then Ryan caught that ball and his kid was sitting next to him. He could have given it to his kid.

00:07:14 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 1:

I actually said to him. Okay, I didn't know that.

00:07:17 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 3:

He actually said to me, he goes, I was protecting Kinsley from getting hit in the face. That's what he said. I said, now you're a super dad. Was Kimberly even sitting on that side? I don't know. I didn't look at the video that close. But I think that if you're a guy going to a game, like if you were dating, if you're single, actually, let's ask the single girls, Bianca and Lydia. And Lydia, you're like super Tiger fan, right? How many games have you been to so far this year?

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 2:

11.

00:07:40 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

11.

00:07:41 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 2:

Lydia's a Riley Green fan.

00:07:43 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 3:

Let's be clear. Or is that Bianca then? I thought Bianca.

00:07:46 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 2:

We're both Riley Green fans. Are you really? And the best woman win. Okay, we'll see. They're not throwing those balls back.

00:07:52 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 3:

Would you guys go to a game or would you guys feel it was okay? Like, Lydia, if you were still dating Deez Nuts Derek or whatever his name was, Dwight, what was the guy's name? Deez or Deez. If you were dating that guy, would you have looked at him a little weird if he brought his own glove to the game?

00:08:10 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 5:

He would do something like that. And does that give you a bad taste in your mouth? Yeah, it does. And so does everything else that he does.

00:08:18 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

She going crazy now. I thought he was pulling back. She went from, I really don't want to hurt his feelings, too.

00:08:24 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, right.

00:08:25 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 5:

That's what happens when you cross me later.

00:08:27 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

Okay, so wait a second. So you would take him out of the picture. If you went with a guy, you went with the ex-boyfriend, the gas station guy. If gas station guy wore a glove to a game, which is a very non-Keldean man thing to do.

00:08:40 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, they would never do that. But I would think that that's fine. If he's doing it, it's fine. There are certain men, like if you're coming in the jersey and you've got the glove and and you have, like, a bobblehead in your left hand. Like, yeah, you just got to pack that shit. Oh, sorry, spit up. I didn't say it. I didn't say it. I saved it.

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 3:

It's the shit.

00:08:59 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 5:

Spit up. You got to pack that spit up. I saved it. I saved it.

00:09:04 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Bianca, how'd you feel if a guy was wearing a glove?

00:09:12 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 4:

Honestly, I think it's fine. Really? Yeah, I don't think there's any issue with that. I think it's fun.

00:09:17 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 3:

To me, it's a very dad-jokey type thing. Like, you know, the guys that make dad jokes, the guys who make dad jokes are the guys that wear gloves to the game and go to the game. Hey guys, we're going to the game. You know, it's like, hey kids, we're all going, let's load up the station wagon. We're all going to get in there. Got mom's minivan. This is my favorite voice to you ever. Sandwich sandwich. Yeah. We got sandwiches. You got to say it with a G. Sandwiches. Sandwiches. Exactly. Shannon, come on. Tell me. I know, I know, I know the type of guy that Shannon's with. I don't think it's that weird. Wes would never bring a glove to a game.

00:09:51 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 1:

Let me tell you something. I've never seen him bring a glove to a game. I don't even know. I've maybe been to one game with him. But he was the guy who, when we went to that rock. climbing place in Madison Heights brought all of his own rock climbing gear. Really? He's serious. And at first I was like

00:10:05 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 2:

That's like bringing your bowling ball to the bowling alley.

00:10:08 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. But I don't know the adults with gloves doesn't bother me. Is it the same

00:10:12 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 3:

thing? I went to the movies twice this weekend. One to see Jurassic Park and the other to see Superman. There were grown men in there with Superman t-shirts. Yeah. And Jurassic Park people were like pajama outfits. Is that like the same thing or is this different?

00:10:24 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 2:

That is kind of goofy. Yeah, that's kind of nerdy. I don't know. What do you think, Maddie? Hi. Hi, how are you? Doing fantastic, Maddie. We're talking about guys who bring gloves to baseball games. Your thoughts?

00:10:38 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 5:

So, my dad, whole life baseball fan, when Miguel Cabrera was about to hit his 500th home run, my dad brought a glove to the game, but he made me carry it in.

00:10:52 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 1:

He didn't want to be seen. He was so embarrassed.

00:10:55 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 5:

That's funny.

00:10:56 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 2:

You know what? I kind of like that about your dad. I think your dad's actually smart. He knew that it was something that was kind of frowned upon, but instead, it's kind of like how Shannon buys Happy Meals for herself and not her kids.

00:11:07 - 00:11:11 | Speaker 1:

Wait, no shame ever, ever. If I'm in the car by myself, I will still order one.

00:11:11 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 2:

She'll order that Happy Meal and talk to the kids in the back. You guys want a Coke with that? They're not even in there. 844 Mojo Live, texter here says, Mojo, why do you got to always talk smack on guys? By the way, this is a guy, I guarantee you, texting this. There's nothing wrong with bringing your glove to a game. Another texter here, 586, says, What Ryan Kessler did was a total Cubs thing, Mojo. Go Cubs go. That actually happens all the time in Wrigley Field. So I grew up in Chicago. I used to go to games all the time at Wrigley. If an opposing player hits a home run to you and you don't throw it back, they'll throw you out on the field. Really? Yeah. All their fans don't play. What's up, John?

00:11:54 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 4:

Hey, good morning.

00:11:55 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 2:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:11:58 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 4:

How are you? I'm doing okay.

00:12:00 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 2:

John, are you a glove to a game guy?

00:12:02 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 4:

This is not a cell phone. No, absolutely not.

00:12:06 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 2:

What are your thoughts on that?

00:12:08 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 4:

But I'm okay with that. I think that's actually, that's fine. But as a golfer, sometimes I go to Topgolf and you got golfers with a range finder shooting the distances.

00:12:19 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 2:

Come on.

00:12:19 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 4:

Wait, what is this? A range finder.

00:12:21 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 2:

You know what a range finder is? I don't. It's basically in golf. If you're out on the course, you use this range finder. It's like a binocular that will tell you how far the hole is. It catches the flag. So he's telling us that you've been at Topgolf. We've all been there together. At Topgolf, guys bring range finders. I've seen guys bring their own golf clubs, which I think is weird. I've never seen a guy pull out a range finder, though, John. That's horrible. I'm cool with that. No.

00:12:46 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 1:

No, that's just like a for fun place. See, but that's the thing, though.

00:12:49 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 3:

If I'm not out there for fun, I'm out there trying to work on my game, and I want to make sure I'm hitting a certain distance.

00:12:55 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 1:

Nobody's at Topgolf working on their game. Why not? You are there drinking a beer and with your buddies.

00:13:00 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 3:

I hear the range finder guy is working on his game. He wants to make sure he's hitting the right distance.

00:13:04 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 2:

You know what that would be like? The analogy of that is the guy that brings his Crayola crayon set to the restaurant that has kids, you know, little papers that you can call it.

00:13:15 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 3:

They don't have to find tips.

00:13:16 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 2:

What's going on, Kimberly? How you doing? good how are you guys we're doing okay we're talking about the guys at tigers games that

00:13:24 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 6:

bring their own gloves well i think that's okay but i was calling to say you guys you're not giving our tigers enough credit about the all-stars we have more than four how many do we have each talk about it six so we have four starters we have six total plus our bad boys

00:13:40 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 2:

even going oh you know why because aj hinge is the manager too right i don't think yeah no i think KJ, isn't it always the manager of the two first-place teams get the managers or no? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe that's not how it is.

00:13:56 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 6:

I think that's the World Series. No, I think coaches in the World Series.

00:14:00 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 2:

So it's the coaches from last year's World Series that coached the game? So it's the Dodgers and the Yankees? Google that whole thing. Who are all the Tigers players?

00:14:08 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 6:

Well, we have Gleyber Torres, Riley Green Javier Baez and then Scuba are all the starters and we have Zach McKinstry Casey Mize and then the Batboy. Wow, I didn't know Casey Mize

00:14:24 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 2:

made it. That's awesome 97 won the ticket. We'll be back right after this. Yeah, so the coaches are

00:14:30 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 3:

the whoever coached last year's World Series. Okay. The Yankees coach and the

00:14:34 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Dodgers coach. Okay, well next year AJ Hinge will be the manager of the All-Star team for the American League. What's going on, Keith? You know, real men don't need to bring a glove. They just catch the ball with their hands like I've done before. That's exactly how Kessler did it, right? You've got to use your old, you know, the bearer. You've got to do it like they do it when Babe Ruth was playing. They didn't wear gloves, did they? They didn't even have helmets.

00:15:00 - 00:16:07 | Speaker 4:

back then it was drinking fifths in the seventh inning do you know how how tough your hands have to be to have a ball that is hit that hard i mean that that home run ball right that i mean that's unbelievable can i tell you something i tried to call i tried to text uh ryan kessler if you ever see his hands i'm gonna see if i can get a picture of his hands he's got like uh pinky fingers that like stick out and like crazy directions and stuff like that like it's sometimes i look at them, and I go, are you holding a glass holding your pinky out? And then I realize it's his pinky. You know how people hold a drink and they do everything? Keith, you're a man's man. I wouldn't do it. If a ball came to me, I'd be the dad that dove out of the way and let his kid get hit in the schnoz. You know? Oh, man. Well, hey, Mojo. Go Cubs go. Go Cubs go. Yes. That's the great... By the way, that is still, for any team, that is the greatest song ever that they play at the end of games when the team wins. Go Cubs, go. We need something like that with the Tigers. Eat them up, Tigers! Eat them up! Or Tigers win again. I've never stayed the whole game.

00:16:08 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 1:

They do at the end of the game. Do they?

00:16:11 - 00:16:34 | Speaker 4:

Ever, ever, you've never stayed until the end of the game? I don't think I've... No, I have. I stayed when Maglio Ordonez got us to the World Series. I was at that game. I stayed the entire time because it was too exciting. But honestly, I'm usually trying to beat the traffic guy yeah yeah and i'm definitely the guy that brings a glove to a game the first season

00:16:34 - 00:16:59 | Speaker 3:
