00:02:59 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 6:

Mojo in the morning show. Can I ask a quick question? Is there ways to return something that you got as a Christmas gift without people knowing that you returned it? And I say this because I got some stuff for Christmas from one of my best, best buddies. and I know he's going to be like not saying that he doesn't see me wearing it but noticing it because I usually will put stuff on right away

00:03:37 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 1:

okay so it's clothing

00:03:40 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 6:

it's clothing okay

00:03:41 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 1:

you're also talking about it so he's going to know

00:03:44 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 6:

well he's not I know he doesn't listen to this show this early in the morning and I know that he's not technically savvy enough to find podcasts okay

00:03:52 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 8:

okay he's definitely your friend alright

00:03:54 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 6:

but But so don't ever don't put this on social media because he does check our social media out from time to time. But that that does kind of like it worries me like it worries me that I'm going to return this stuff. He ended up getting me stuff at Carl's Golf Land and I know I'm kind of a brain guy like I'm a brain guy like I only wear like certain brands.

00:04:19 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 8:

Travis Matthew. Is that a golf brand?

00:04:22 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 6:

Oh, you just got right into it.

00:04:23 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 8:

Oh, oh, that was a total guess.

00:04:26 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 6:

I feel like the only golf brand I know, and Grayson. No, so I wear Grayson, and I wear Peter Millar.

00:04:30 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 5:

Peter Millar, that's right. Is Travis Matthew a golf brand? Travis Matthews is. It's very good, actually. You know what? Oh, my God, I'm not a golfer, and I knew something.

00:04:37 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 6:

Very nice. He bought me some Travis Matthew, and Travis Matthew doesn't look good on me. I used to wear it all the time because it was the only thing that fit me. Now I can fit into others, and I realize, oh, my God, I didn't look good.

00:04:48 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 1:

Okay, and I'm assuming that you golf with said person.

00:04:52 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 6:

Yes.

00:04:52 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 1:

Can you wear it once with the tags on?

00:04:56 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

And then return it for store credit. No, because Neil Feldman's listening to the show.

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 1:

right now and he runs carl's golfing and he would know and there was no gift for see obviously that no there is they they put it but i want to return but here's the problem with it i want to return it because there's nothing worse than when somebody returns something that you got or regiffs something that you got yeah which obviously you've done yes i've done to you

00:05:21 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 4:

all right which is fine i mean 15 years later i'm still not but heard about it although wait

00:05:27 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 1:

Oh, wait a second. Maybe we should bring up the topic of what happened to you that you found out. Oh, this might be a perfect time, too.

00:05:35 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 4:

But this was, are you talking about the house?

00:05:36 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

Yes.

00:05:37 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so this wasn't, though, a gift, per se. I gave it to, okay, so Lucy has exited her Barbie phase, which makes me really sad. She's 10 and a half. She, you know, gave all of her Barbie stuff to my four year old niece, Stella, with the exception of a few things. Well, then those few things started collecting dust in her room. And one of them was a Barbie house. So at the end of the summer, I have a girl that I know whose daughter is like right in that sweet spot. And I had asked her, do you want Lucy's old Barbie house? I will just give it to you because I'm trying to get all of this crap out of the house. Right. Purge. And she was like, oh, my gosh. Yes. I don't see her daughter's name, but she's like she will absolutely love it. Well, fast forward to a couple of days ago, I'm on, you guys know I love not Facebook marketplace, but there are different Facebook groups that I belong to that are like closed groups, but they're for either my neighborhood or city or whatever that you can sell stuff. So I was on there posting some other stuff. And what do I see on there? Lucy's Barbie house that I gave to this girl, but she now has it listed for sale for $40. Trying to make money off of you. And I'm like, wait a second. I feel like that's kind of rude. Don't you think that's kind of rude? Yeah. And I don't know. I truly don't know her well enough to be like, hey, not cool. Would you be upset if she listed it like for free? Not at all. Right. Because I gave it to her for free.

00:07:05 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 1:

All right.

00:07:05 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:06 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 1:

Here's the question. Is it that now it's her as the rightful owner and she can do whatever she wants with it?

00:07:13 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 4:

Which she is, but still rude.

00:07:15 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 1:

Or since she got it for free, should she give it for free?

00:07:18 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 4:

or split the money with you or does she owe you okay i like them all you know what i mean i like them all like if she showed up and was like this bottle is for you thanks for the barbie dream

00:07:26 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

house i i wouldn't complain correct lydia i want to take calls on this i want eight four i want calls on shannon's the barbie dream house and i want also conversation about when somebody gives you something do you have to wear it or do you have to tell them that you returned it because i feel like i need to maybe say hey and come up with a i already got that color like some like

00:07:47 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 4:

fake or something like why don't you just say i i don't really love it i'd rather buy something

00:07:51 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 2:

that i actually would wear no that's so rude i know that i don't know you gotta wear it why

00:07:56 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 4:

don't you just exchange it and not say anything well he's not gonna be like why are you wearing

00:08:01 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 1:

the travis no he does that though really oh he doesn't he'll do that all the time like he'll say like he'll say we we judge he goes oh i got that one too like we get we'll buy things or he'll say hey carl's just got the new lions uh sweatshirt in or whatever like he'll like he'll like tell me stuff like we you know we kind of like mutually shop by the way neil from carl's golf land just text me and said lol bring them back all right 844 mojo live 844-665-6548 text 95500 i want to know what you guys think about this um rachel what's going on it's mojo in the morning hey

00:08:37 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 2:

what's up what's happening oh not much you know i just gotta say a long time second time you guys

00:08:43 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 1:

called me oh okay you have a relatable story to shannon's thing yeah yeah so i used to have a

00:08:52 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 2:

rabbit and i had bought this really expensive cage for it and i i kind of grew out of having rabbit so i gave it to my mom's best friend's kid and i said i need the cage back because the cage cost more and they ended up selling the rabbit and the cage and i didn't learn about that until

00:09:09 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 1:

about six months later yeah but i guess it's a live animal you probably should have said something

00:09:17 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 4:

yeah i don't feel like you get to just give away a live animal and then be like i wanted to make

00:09:20 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 2:

money off of that yeah right yeah i mean the rabbit you wanted to sell it you didn't want anymore i get that but the cage cost way more than the rabbit did and obviously i didn't want

00:09:32 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

the rabbit back but not a good move hold on laurie what's up it's mojo in the morning hi laurie

00:09:40 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

Hey, how are you?

00:09:41 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 1:

Good. Lori, what did you catch family members doing?

00:09:44 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 3:

So we buy pretty expensive gifts for our grandchildren and our nieces and nephews. And multiple times, like maybe three, four months after, maybe they're just done playing with a gift or whatever. We'll see it on Marketplace. and they're making a profit on it oh geez yeah it's and it i guess maybe they need the money more than we do but it's just the point of maybe they should block us from seeing those things

00:10:12 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 7:

who are who are these people that you said they're family members but how family family are they oh um son and daughter-in-law oh man they're like family family they're like close close family family at that point right there you almost feel good about helping them but you're right though you almost think that they should say something to you what's up andrea hello hi how are you

00:10:36 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 10:

i'm good how are you fantastic what's going on i have some advice for you for what you can tell

00:10:44 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 7:

your friend okay about the uh yeah that's this is about me getting from my buddy some stuff from carl's golf land that i want to return but i'm worried that he'll be upset that i'm not wearing

00:10:53 - 00:11:10 | Speaker 10:

it yeah yes exactly so tell him that the shirt does not fit you and so you take it back you have your gift receipts and they don't have the size that you need so you had to buy something else

00:11:10 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 7:

that's the smartest thing i've ever heard anyone say about anything can i call you for all advice because that's so smart. Actually, could you repeat that so I could write this down? No, that's actually not a bad idea. And that's believable. That's extremely believable. Hey, Cindy, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:11:32 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 9:

Hi, good morning. I had a friend who baked me for a long time. I had a nutcracker that stood about 5'5". One of the big ones that you find at Costco's and stuff. Oh, yeah. It held wine and, like, wine glasses and stuff. Yeah. Well, anyway, I felt sorry for her because she's like, I never had one before in my life. So I gave it to her. And, like, two weeks after that, she sold it online for $400. Oh, my God. That's a lot of money.

00:12:04 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 7:

Wait, what? A nutcracker? What's a nutcracker? What do you mean a nutcracker? Like the Christmas decorations. Oh, the nutcracker. The huge one. Okay. Can you put, like, outside of your fridge? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, okay. I was like, the nutcracker. I was like, it cracks nuts, but it's, like, actually the decoration from Christmas. Yeah. Hold on. Megan wants to say something to you, Shannon. What's that, Megan?

00:12:25 - 00:12:28 | Speaker 8:

Hi. So, first time in a long time. Hey!

00:12:30 - 00:12:32 | Speaker 5:

Megan's on the phone.

00:12:33 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 8:

And, Shannon, did you say that you just gave this to her, like, a few days ago?

00:12:37 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 5:

No, I gave it to her at the end of the summer.

00:12:39 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 8:

Oh, okay. I thought you said a few days ago.

00:12:41 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 5:

I was no a few days ago I saw it on Facebook oh gotcha okay yeah I was just gonna say like if it

00:12:47 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 8:

was a few days ago like maybe she like you gave it to her she gave it to her daughter and then she was like oh okay you know she should have been like she should have messaged you and been like okay you know she's kind of outgrown it too do you want it back or do you want me to

00:13:00 - 00:13:11 | Speaker 7:

re-gift it to someone yeah right yeah so yep so it's it's one of those things where a few days ago is definitely early but i still think summertime to now is still early too yeah like

00:13:11 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 5:

it's not like it's been years i bet what happened is somebody got her daughter like the new the newest latest greatest barbie dream house for christmas and so she needed to offload the one

00:13:20 - 00:13:34 | Speaker 7:

that i had given her i will i will tell you this though and and the thing that's interesting is talking about this to me is better shame than than even asking for twenty dollars at the forty dollars that she gets because you know it's going to get back i gave away another one because lucy

00:13:34 - 00:13:44 | Speaker 5:

had two over Christmas. Oh, really? I want to see if that one ends up on Facebook Marketplace. Just put a little track around it. Gave it away for free. Which one will get more money, too? Yeah, I don't know.

00:13:45 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 6:
