it's mojo in the morning so have you guys uh done all your returns from the holiday shopping and holiday gifts that you either gave or gifts that you received all right so this past weekend was kind of like a all right we got to get rid of some of this stuff because we got rid of the tree and we also needed to get rid of because we still had gifts that were underneath the tree and i have a funny story of something that happened to me when i was uh trying to clean up a little bit i got a gift and i guess i could say who is from it was from a neighbor of mine and they bought me it was they're very sweet they bought me a very nice gift and has this ever happened to anyone have you ever gotten a gift from a family member only to have them bust you returning it because oh my gosh no I they bought me a Ralph Lauren um sweater it was a Ralph Lauren and it was the colors of like red white and blue and stuff like that you know how Ralph Lauren does that sometimes

Very Americana. Yes.

Let me just put it this way. If I kept that sweater and wore that sweater, I'd look like the fattest American flag you've ever seen. It was just awful on me and just looked horrible. So I returned it to Macy's, and while I was returning it, my neighbor who bought it for me was there and saw me at the counter returning the sweater that they gave me. And I didn't say anything. and now I will tell you this have you guys ever had to do this do you ever have like an aunt or you know cousin or friend or you know whatever give you a gift and you don't know where they got it from and it doesn't fit or you don't like it and you want to return it how do you subtly ask them where do they get they didn't put a gift receipt in it you know you can't

you're just stuck with it you can't that's the worst situation

because I had Chels call her and say to her hey you know Tom needs to get a different size You know And like you know And he may have to do this whole thing

That's actually a good excuse Which is a great excuse And this is why I always Will tape the receipt To the bottom of a box If I give somebody something That you know Even if I am sure That they would like it I still do it Because I am not offended If you have to return it I'd rather you return it And get something that you want Than you know Give it to another show member And then they show up The next day wearing it I don't know who you're talking about But yeah, I, you know, what's so funny is this reminds me, and this was a couple of years ago and if she's listening, God, I feel bad, but it was really funny. So my, my former mother.

in law Andrew's mom one time bought Lucy when Lucy was a baby some sort of like dress or something I can't remember what it was some sort of baby outfit and it wasn't really my taste and so I thought oh I'll just I'll put it in the donation bag and you guys know me I always have donation bags in the back of my car I'm constantly dropping stuff off at this one place on Southfield Road so I went to go drop off my donation bags and it was not the next day that we had we were getting together for something and she said oh i would love if lou swore the outfit that i got oh no and i'm like oh god i had to drive back to encore the place where i dropped this stuff off and try to see if they had gone through the bag yet you know to unload and organize the stuff onto the floor of the actual store did you have to buy it back from them they had it thank god no it hadn't even gone out yet so i just grabbed it really quick from my bag that was still in the bin they

It would have been smart to make you buy it back for a donation. That's funny. That's like the worst feeling, too, like when somebody goes, I haven't seen your child.

When they give you baby stuff. We used to get that all the time with the kids. Like a relative would always buy like the worst clothes. Just like not your taste. Question for you guys. I know that stores have policies on returns. What's the latest that you can return something? It depends. Because there have been things I've gone through. So I went through and I cleaned out my garage and then I cleaned out some of my closet and stuff like that. I have in my closet what's called the crap area. And it's usually, like, first off, do you guys save shoe boxes? When you buy a pair of shoes, do you save the boxes?

I do. I don't know why. it's just a dad thing it's like oh what a great box i'm gonna use this someday and i have a pile

of great boxes that i'm never gonna use i save the boxes with the shoes so i have a bunch of nikes i have a bunch of jordans and i have like all the boxes and i save them because part of me thinks these things are could be you know limited editions or could be hard to get mike you wear jordans at all yeah yep so i so i have i have a couple fours that are really nice and i have these shoes that I got that actually I found out from a buddy of mine that works at StockX that they're actually worth something and Joe bought them for me at the Nike store when they the release came out they're called Tinker Hatfields have you heard of that at all it's like a limited edition and so Chelsea's like you gotta get rid of the boxes I'm like I can't get rid of this box these things could be worth and I never wear them like I wore it to the iHeart Festival or then the Jingle Ball And I even almost brought a change of shoes with me Because I didn't want to Have to walk through the parking lot in them And get them all scuffed up

Oh, yeah, I had an incident, you know, because, you know, I like T-shirts, right? And I like, man, hang it off with me sloppy, right? Yeah. And my sister bought me some T-shirts. Those suckers were so small, I couldn't even get my head through that monkey fight, man.

Well, then you've got to return that T-shirt, right, Kool-Aid lady?

Well, I just kept it and used the material, you know, because I do a lot of sewing and stuff.

I'm going like, man, this is whack.

I remember, Kool-Aid lady. By the way, we've got some new merch coming out, and we're going to get your size. But I remember Kool-Aid lady telling the person that does our thing, she likes to wear this size of shirt. And he's like, there is no way that I've seen Kool-Aid Lady. There's no way she can fit in that thing. I think she likes to wear it like a blanket. I think she likes to have it be so big. It's a blanket on her.

I guess, you know, I did lose a bunch of weight, but I still like myself hanging off these floppy, man.

she's great what's going on kate so you guys are talking about the uh late returns my husband bought me a christmas tree for christmas because it was on sale at home depot thinking it was like the greatest gift ever and it was the hideous tree i couldn't even imagine it didn't even sit in the face i go to return it the day after christmas and they said sorry no returns after christmas for any holiday decoration yeah even though we had a receipt like yeah i'm like You know, it was a Christmas gift. Now I'm stuck with this hideous Christmas tree until I can try to return it next year before Christmas.

I didn't realize that they have that as a policy. A lot of stores do, that the holiday, you know, whatever the holiday may be. You can't return the holiday items after the holiday. You can't return gifts. Because they don't want you to buy home decor, use it, and then after the holiday is over, just bring it back.

And then they can't put it back out on the floor. It's got to go in storage.

um i have not done my returns yet but i just wanted to say that costco has like the uh it's like unlimited they have no time limited on the reserve i love costco for that

although i think that i'm probably the same way i think you know you can't do like the electronics and things like that but you can pretty much return anything people god we've had listeners call us before they returned half of a rotisserie chicken that was already eaten

yeah that's crazy and you know that uh christmas thing too i bought lights from myers this year and none of them worked and they wouldn't let me return them oh man that sucks they literally did not work like the second i got them home plug them in what date did you return them though well i tried to return them after christmas because i bought them like a couple weeks before christmas and everything was just so crazy and i didn't yeah i get it i get it that's where donation has to come into play yeah don't donate them yeah donate them to a relative you don't
