Phone number is 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. So I just, I finished up my taxes. I mean, nothing like waiting until the very last moment to get it done.

00:02:36 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 7:

Oh, today's the day, right?

00:02:37 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well, I believe it was yesterday, wasn't it, or no? Yeah, it was yesterday. It's today.

00:02:40 - 00:02:41 | Speaker 7:

Today's tax day.

00:02:41 - 00:02:45 | Speaker 3:

Are you sure? Yeah, the 18th. They extended it, I thought. Oh, really? Okay, I thought it was yesterday.

00:02:45 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 7:

I mean, I was listening to our friends this morning on the news station, and they were saying today by midnight.

00:02:50 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 3:

Okay, well, let me just say this to you. I thought it was yesterday. I was panicking, and that's all I was working on yesterday. So, I should have listened.

00:02:59 - 00:03:05 | Speaker 5:

I'm just really proud of myself that I'm not the last one on the show to do it. I did mine on Sunday, so, yep, I'm with you, Mojo.

00:03:05 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 3:

Well, I was going through, even though you really can't do anything nowadays, it seems like, with your taxes, I was going through and looking at the things that I spend money on. Because you used to be able to write off entertainment stuff. And now it's pretty much, you know, not as much that's there anymore. But long story short, this is the only time of the year that I realize how much money I waste on my streaming services that I have. So all the subscription services that I have, I kind of like listed them and then looked at how much money I spent over the year. And I was like, oh, my God. And I'm talking about the services like I got cable, which I'm not going to give up my Wi-Fi in my house. But I might give up the cable. All right. I'm contemplating that and just doing Wi-Fi with stream. Okay. I've got Hulu, Netflix. Why do I have both? Handmaid's Tale is the only reason why. Because otherwise I just have Netflix. Absolutely. But I don't watch anything else, I think, on Hulu.

00:04:11 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 7:

Oh, Scandal's on Hulu.

00:04:14 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 3:

Scandal?

00:04:14 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 7:

Scandal? I love it. Are you still watching Scandal?

00:04:16 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 3:

I just started it.

00:04:18 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 7:

I'm late to the party, but let me tell you, it's very good. Okay, I was going to say, the first couple seasons are good, and then it gets meh. Oh, really? Okay. Yeah, I'm sorry.

00:04:25 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

I'm into it right now. Apple Music. I have Apple Music. The MLB app. I have no idea why, but for some reason, I find myself randomly wanting to watch a Cubs game because I'm a big Cub fan because I grew up in Chicago. And I have LifeLock. All right? I know that sounds crazy, but I've had my identity stolen like three times, and I figured, you know what? I got LifeLock. All right? And you ain't stealing my identity this time unless LifeLock tells me you stole it. I hope somebody steals mine. I got a lot of debt. I wish they would take it. They take it all? Well, so I'm going through these.

00:05:00 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 2:

subscription services. And if you have an iPhone and you do your subscription services through the iPhone, it's easy to cancel them because you just go into subscriptions and you can just pretty much go cancel, cancel, cancel. Otherwise, a lot of these ones, I don't have it through that. I just have it through going on and, you know, figuring out what my password is. And then I got to just remember what my password is. Well, a friend of mine told me something yesterday and gave me great news or great advice. And I think that our listeners need to know this. And if anybody's ever done this i want you to tell me if it's worked so a friend of mine said that what you should do is can't once a year cancel every subscription that you have every every subscription anything you have cancel it then one of two things is going to happen you're either going to get talked into keeping the service at a much lower price which the cable companies always end up doing they always seem like they negotiate with you or you cancel it all for one month and if you desperately need it back after a month you get it back otherwise you're good and you don't need it yeah well yeah yeah is this worked or you're saying but have you tried

00:06:11 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 3:

it i do it all the time i cancel subscriptions all of the time especially because i think a lot of people love a show on a streaming platform you watch it in two weeks and then you pay for the entire service for the year i am a huge fan of canceling stuff all the time except my dad always goes oh the login that's how my dad sounds the login doesn't work and uh i have to walk him through that which is probably the most annoying part of the whole process but yeah i save way

00:06:39 - 00:06:47 | Speaker 2:

more money doing that for sure for sure so canceling it it will then make you go i don't

00:06:47 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 3:

need it or you do need it like what have you found i have found that i don't need like any

00:06:53 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 4:

of the services that i pay for i canceled my cable last year and i really realized that i did not need that at all really i steal megan's hulu i steal my ex-husband's netflix okay i pay

00:07:05 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 2:

for disney plus you still have a streaming uh wi-fi at home right i had i pay for youtube tv

00:07:12 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 4:

okay so those are the only two i pay for and in terms of subscriptions i just checked the other day actually it's funny you're talking about this and the only real one that i have on my phone is some some kidtopia that lucy and smith play on my phone i don't know what that is the only one i'll

00:07:26 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 3:

never delete is hbo i'll delete all the other ones hbo is the only one i keep year-round the

00:07:32 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 2:

only one that i will never delete is red tube uh solid one so you were not here last week but i did

00:07:39 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 4:

a story in the dirty last week about how this is becoming a thing with more and more people canceling their subscriptions because it's getting to be astronomical what we're paying for all of these things when you actually sit down and add them all up but the part of this story that i thought was interesting was whatever federal entity controls all that the federal blah blah blah um exchange commission security ftc whatever fcc um they're going to there's like a bill that is about to be passed to make it easier to cancel these things because have you ever noticed how hard it is you have to dig through a website sometimes yeah to find the button that says cancel subscription and so there's going to be a new law that it's it's going to be as easy to cancel as it is to sign up with the click of a button i would also like a law because i am a

00:08:23 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 3:

huge fan of rupaul's drag race and if you want to watch it you have to pay for three different streaming services to watch all of it because they intentionally divided up among different platforms so you have to pay for multiple streaming services i would like a law against

00:08:38 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

that as well please oh i how dare they that's uh rupaul should stop that i literally hate you this

00:08:44 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

is a problem for a lot of people thank you very much it's a very very popular television show

00:08:48 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 2:

well that that's it that they've they've got you hooked what's up lauren hi good morning so mojo

00:08:56 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

i'm calling to say that um my parents recently asked me about a month and a half ago what i was paying for internet like i don't do the cable so i have wow and i ended up having them switch from comcast they were paying over 300 a month for internet phone and their cable so we ended up switching them to the verizon internet which is 25 a month it works incredible they are so happy

00:09:23 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 2:

with it i have xfinity and i'm going to tell you that i just did my negotiation or i'm doing my negotiation and i was able to lower my xfinity and the wi-fi service is better i've tried the other guys and i couldn't get a better uh my service with yeah their xfinity wi-fi is is by

00:09:41 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

far try to get their bill lowered with xfinity and they would not budge so they did the verizon internet for the 25 a month and then they did the hulu live yeah now the hulu live is amazing they're like i don't know why we didn't switch earlier they went from spending like four

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 3:

$4,000 a year at Xfinity to $95 a month for their internet and Hulu Live. And they are just like, we don't know why we didn't do this sooner. Here's the problem, though.

00:10:10 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 5:

How long have they had this for?

00:10:12 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 3:

A couple months.

00:10:13 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 5:

All right. The problem, though, in a couple of months, your grandfather is going to break his television, which is going to cost him about $2,000 to go buy that new television again.

00:10:24 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 3:

They bought a TV just to do that.

00:10:26 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 5:

I understand that. But he's going to break it because he's going to throw the remote at the TV because that Verizon service is going to bust on him or it's not going to work on him. And he's going to wish that he had his Xfinity back. I promise you. I've seen this happen numerous times with friends of mine that have made the switch over to one of the other ones. And they realize it's the only Wi-Fi that works at all.

00:10:47 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 8:

I'm so jealous when you Michiganders talk about your different internet options.

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 5:

I know. I hate all of you. What do you have, Buckeye Cable?

00:10:53 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 8:

We have a huge monopoly here, and depending on where you live, you only have one, maybe two provider options. Our internet here is so much more expensive than in Michigan. It's not even funny. Like the cheapest internet a month here, the absolute cheapest, and it's the first year contract is $100 a month.

00:11:10 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 5:

Wow. Xfinity, $25 a month. Oh, I hate you. Xfinity.com slash T-Mofax. What's going on? Darian, what's going on? Hi.

00:11:21 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 3:

Hey, good morning, guys. I just wanted to talk about how you guys are always canceling your subscriptions. Me and my wife, well, my wife doesn't really care for it as much as I do, but I do the trial period. So I'll create an account and do the 10-day trial period, and then I'll cancel it and create a whole new account and just keep on doing that. That's the smartest thing I've ever heard anyone say about anything.

00:11:45 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 5:

How smart is this guy right now? I never thought about that. We were talking yesterday about getting things for free and just starting up different subscriptions. What a – you're the genius of the morning.

00:11:56 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 3:

I mean, you get a 30-day trial period on some of the things.

00:12:00 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my gosh.

00:12:01 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 3:

The 29th day, you cancel. You know what?

00:12:03 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 5:

Okay, question for you.

00:12:04 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 3:

Create a whole new account.

00:12:05 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 5:

Do you also go to Costco or Sam's Club on the weekends, and that's your dinner?

00:12:10 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 3:

Oh, absolutely.

00:12:12 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 5:

I love it.

00:12:13 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 1:
