I'm just really proud of myself that I'm not the last one on the show to do it. I did mine on Sunday, so, yep, I'm with you, Mojo.

Well, I was going through, even though you really can't do anything nowadays, it seems like, with your taxes, I was going through and looking at the things that I spend money on. Because you used to be able to write off entertainment stuff. And now it's pretty much, you know, not as much that's there anymore. But long story short, this is the only time of the year that I realize how much money I waste on my streaming services that I have. So all the subscription services that I have, I kind of like listed them and then looked at how much money I spent over the year. And I was like, oh, my God. And I'm talking about the services like I got cable, which I'm not going to give up my Wi-Fi in my house. But I might give up the cable. All right. I'm contemplating that and just doing Wi-Fi with stream. Okay. I've got Hulu, Netflix. Why do I have both? Handmaid's Tale is the only reason why. Because otherwise I just have Netflix. Absolutely. But I don't watch anything else, I think, on Hulu.

Well, a friend of mine told me something yesterday and gave me great news or great advice. And I think that our listeners need to know this. And if anybody's ever done this i want you to tell me if it's worked so a friend of mine said that what you should do is can't once a year cancel every subscription that you have every every subscription anything you have cancel it then one of two things is going to happen you're either going to get talked into keeping the service at a much lower price which the cable companies always end up doing they always seem like they negotiate with you or you cancel it all for one month and if you desperately need it back after a month you get it back otherwise you're good and you don't need it yeah well yeah yeah is this worked or you're saying but have you tried

it i do it all the time i cancel subscriptions all of the time especially because i think a lot of people love a show on a streaming platform you watch it in two weeks and then you pay for the entire service for the year i am a huge fan of canceling stuff all the time except my dad always goes oh the login that's how my dad sounds the login doesn't work and uh i have to walk him through that which is probably the most annoying part of the whole process but yeah i save way

more money doing that for sure for sure so canceling it it will then make you go i don't

need it or you do need it like what have you found i have found that i don't need like any

a story in the dirty last week about how this is becoming a thing with more and more people canceling their subscriptions because it's getting to be astronomical what we're paying for all of these things when you actually sit down and add them all up but the part of this story that i thought was interesting was whatever federal entity controls all that the federal blah blah blah um exchange commission security ftc whatever fcc um they're going to there's like a bill that is about to be passed to make it easier to cancel these things because have you ever noticed how hard it is you have to dig through a website sometimes yeah to find the button that says cancel subscription and so there's going to be a new law that it's it's going to be as easy to cancel as it is to sign up with the click of a button i would also like a law because i am a

huge fan of rupaul's drag race and if you want to watch it you have to pay for three different streaming services to watch all of it because they intentionally divided up among different platforms so you have to pay for multiple streaming services i would like a law against

i'm calling to say that um my parents recently asked me about a month and a half ago what i was paying for internet like i don't do the cable so i have wow and i ended up having them switch from comcast they were paying over 300 a month for internet phone and their cable so we ended up switching them to the verizon internet which is 25 a month it works incredible they are so happy

with it i have xfinity and i'm going to tell you that i just did my negotiation or i'm doing my negotiation and i was able to lower my xfinity and the wi-fi service is better i've tried the other guys and i couldn't get a better uh my service with yeah their xfinity wi-fi is is by

far try to get their bill lowered with xfinity and they would not budge so they did the verizon internet for the 25 a month and then they did the hulu live yeah now the hulu live is amazing they're like i don't know why we didn't switch earlier they went from spending like four

$4,000 a year at Xfinity to $95 a month for their internet and Hulu Live. And they are just like, we don't know why we didn't do this sooner. Here's the problem, though.

How long have they had this for?

All right. The problem, though, in a couple of months, your grandfather is going to break his television, which is going to cost him about $2,000 to go buy that new television again.

They bought a TV just to do that.

I understand that. But he's going to break it because he's going to throw the remote at the TV because that Verizon service is going to bust on him or it's not going to work on him. And he's going to wish that he had his Xfinity back. I promise you. I've seen this happen numerous times with friends of mine that have made the switch over to one of the other ones. And they realize it's the only Wi-Fi that works at all.

I'm so jealous when you Michiganders talk about your different internet options.

We have a huge monopoly here, and depending on where you live, you only have one, maybe two provider options. Our internet here is so much more expensive than in Michigan. It's not even funny.
