Every dating app swipe is another loss. Jim bros, big CEOs, straight up losers. So now the only app I open is Moto Casino. Because at least there, I'm surrounded by winners. Real winners. Thousands of them. While everyone else is in the single swamp, I'm at home relaxing while stacking bonuses, hitting wins, and playing all my favorite Vegas-style games. Moto Casino, the only app worth your time.

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:01:36 - 00:02:21 | Speaker 5:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or any 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four year.

Hall of Shame, Rob Walchek, Problem Solvers. investigative reports by the creepy guy from Channel 7. Can you do the Hall of Shame right, please? Or The Edge. Yeah, you're on The Edge. So let me tell you what happened to me. So I went to go eat, and after I ate, I get a phone call, and it's the restaurant calling me, and I can see their name on the thing. And I thought, oh, my God, did I leave something there or whatever? And this was probably about maybe 45 minutes or so, maybe less. It was pretty quick from when I had eaten there. And I answer the phone. The person goes, hello, is this Thomas? And they said my full name. And I said, yes. And they said, hi, Thomas. I'm the manager of, and I'm not going to say the name of the restaurant because I'm going to say this to you. The manager handled it spectacularly, and I don't believe it's the restaurant nor the manager's fault, and I don't want this to become something that's bad on their part. But if this has ever happened to you, I want you to listen up. Or if it hasn't happened to you, watch out. You've got to pay attention to this. Calls me up to tell me, hey, you just ate here. We know that you ate here. I hope your meal was okay. I'm like, yeah, my meal was great. We just want to let you know that something happened when you paid the bill that came to our attention fairly quickly. And that's why we're calling you. And we want you to know we're handling it on our end. But the person who served you ended up adding to your tip on your credit card bill.

00:04:13 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God.

00:04:14 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

And we want you to know that we are handling it here and we are going to terminate this person, but they were caught and we are going to take the entire bill off your, your credit card. But we figured that this potentially would be something that might be an oversight and you would not see. But what ended up happening was my bill was like 30, maybe eight, $9 and change. And I left an $8 tip, which was what? 20%. It was about 20%. Yes. and the guy the guy added a 1 to the to the 18 and added basically $10 onto it and tried to scam me out of $10 now I'm gonna say this to you guys this is bad to say this because I sound like such a buffoon say

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 4:

I never look at my credit card statements to see, I look at how much it is at the end of the month and I go, Holy Christ, I can't believe I bought that much Grayson or Carl's golf land that much.

00:05:09 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:05:10 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 4:

But I never look at, or, or Holy crap, it's costing me a lot of gas money now to drive downtown. Yeah. For real. But I, um, I would have never caught that.

00:05:19 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 2:

So do you have it? Excuse me. Do you have it so that like my credit cards, if I charge something, it pops up on my phone

00:05:28 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 4:

yeah yes my only my one credit card does that i was gonna say i think my american express does

00:05:33 - 00:05:44 | Speaker 2:

that but my my i have like a bank of america visa debit card that maybe doesn't i don't know but so i can always see what was just charged you know what i mean i need that for everything

00:05:44 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 4:

yeah because i do like like sometimes it will show i don't know if you've ever seen this before you ever go to a restaurant and you'll pay and you're they will it'll come up on my american express like you paid $39 right away and then when I put the tip on there it only shows up as $39 but the tip is added later you're right but real real quick I wanted to throw this out there I don't think that 90% of people look to see the bill right and I think there's 10% of people that are the smart ones yeah they probably do Dave Ramsey or something and I look at it and think to myself we're probably all susceptible to this but I loved that the manager called me right away It was obvious that they started noticing that this waiter.

00:06:23 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 2:

That's what I was going to say. This is a pattern.

00:06:26 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 4:

Was doing this.

00:06:27 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 2:

Okay, I have a question. Because I'm sure that this is not uncommon. And if this has ever happened to you, obviously we want to hear your story, so call us. But I always wonder if it ever happens where you give your credit card and they write down the number. Has it ever happened to anybody where they actually write down your number or take a picture of your number?

00:06:45 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 4:

It never has, I believe, happened to me. but I've had people try to open up accounts and stuff. Like I've had that kind of scam.

00:06:52 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 2:

It's such an easy way to do it.

00:06:53 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

I do some banking with, I'm not going to say the bank because now I feel like all my identity will get, but the bank I bank with does a great job of tipping you off on that. But a friend of mine told me another scam and I'll tell you about that right after I grab a couple of calls here because some people want to comment. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. It's another scam that they say is a big one that a lot of people are doing now. Perry, what's happening?

00:07:18 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 6:

Hey, good morning, guys. Good morning. I used to work as a waitress, and one of the waitresses was caught doing the exact same thing, Mojo. She would just put a one in front of, like it was an $8 tip, put a one in front of it, or just sneak in a little extra on top. And at the end of the night, we were like, how does she make so much more money than all of us?

00:07:40 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 4:

Isn't it wild to think that that was how they tipped off on this person? because all the other servers were equally as great, but they were wondering why they're not getting more money. But this particular person was getting so much money. Thank you for the call. Markela, or no, yeah, Markeia.

00:07:59 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 5:

Markeia.

00:08:00 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 4:

Markeia.

00:08:01 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 5:

Hey, first time on. Hey! Markeia on the phone.

00:08:07 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 4:

What's up?

00:08:07 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 5:

Yes, I cannot wait. I'm so glad Kevin said that. I love when he says it.

00:08:12 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 4:

Say it again, Kevin.

00:08:14 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 5:

Markeia on the phone. i love it so yeah i was in high school we went to coney island my bill was six dollars and the server tipped herself thirty dollars wow so i'm broke right i'm checking every transaction in high school and i'm like when did i spend 36 at coney island like that's crazy you know what's

00:08:39 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 4:

amazing is with a debit card it's harder like thank god it was my credit card because with the debit card it's hard to reimburse yeah that the the restaurant would have had a hard time with that um markia this is just a weird thought that came in my head kev when you are out and about dating and i know that obviously you've been in a long relationship for a while but you know things have changed right now if a girl in bed with you ask you to say scream my name out like you do the first time long time on the air yeah would you do it for

00:09:10 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 3:

show okay as many times i'll tell her i'll tell her even exchange all right have you you make me say you ever do have you done that no no no i didn't smash nobody i ain't had sex in a while

00:09:22 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 4:

uh george are you first time no you're a long time long time what's going on george

00:09:29 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 1:

yeah you know i mean i don't check mine i'm like you i don't check my my purchases my wife stays on top of it and we actually had pulled through mcdonald's on a drive on a trip we didn't get 10 minutes up the road and she went back to check and the girl had

00:09:46 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 4:

ordered $2,700 worth of airplane tickets oh my god and you know for a fact it was the McDonald's

00:09:51 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

person oh absolutely that was the stop that we had just left and they actually caught the girl and it took

00:10:00 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 6:

care of it but my wife follows up on that stuff it happens she's smart than you think you're blessed man fortunately i mean you know a lot of times if they see anything over a certain amount and if it's out of state if it flags your you can set it up so it'll flag you yeah that's yeah

00:10:18 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 5:

that's that's so great that you guys caught that but also it's such a big scam thank god it was right because if it was a hundred dollar thing it probably might not flag as much um d can you turn your radio down yeah is that an is that uh just an initial that i'm going by here yes d

00:10:39 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 2:

what yeah what's your story so i used to be a scammer back in the day when times was rough Yeah. Wow. So there's a lot of things that you guys are unaware of in the store, sliding your card. People behind you with a phone, they can take a picture of your card. You got to be careful. There's a lot of things out here.

00:11:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 4:

So, Dee, how did you scam people?

00:11:03 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay. So there was a lot of different things. You're at the restaurant. You have your purse hanging on the back of the chair. I just drop something, walk by and scoop it up. We can keep it moving. In the grocery store, you're walking around, you've got your back turned to your cart. I push off with your cart. There are so many different things that people are so unaware of how people can get you. Did anybody catch you in the act? I had never gotten caught, no. What made you stop?

00:11:31 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 3:

The phone or the taking a photo of somebody's card when they're at like checking out, I would never have thought about that one.

00:11:38 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 5:

Can you answer Kev's question? What made you stop?

00:11:43 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 2:

things got better i didn't need to do anything to anyone anymore like it was hard i was with my three kids i was struggling we had to do we had to eat we had to do stuff so i had to i felt like

00:11:54 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 4:

that's what i needed to do last question how how did you start like did you some did somebody that you know was operating in this way or like what was that first time and why did you do it okay

00:12:05 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 2:

yeah so i'm from dc right so back then there was a guy that i knew he was making cards he was making checks he was doing a lot of different shady things like that so i was connected with him so he taught me how to you know get what i needed wow hey i appreciate you calling yeah for

00:12:24 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 4:

real and god bless you i'm glad things got better d thanks kev i've been trying to get with you for

00:12:29 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 5:

a little minute though oh she wants to rip you off no i ain't trying to rip nobody off no i'm

00:12:37 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 2:

good right now i'm good we good are you have you called us ever before i have i called last week okay when we were talking about things that you've uh said to and people heard it and you you know i cursed and y'all was like first time cussing in 48 that's funny hey can i tell can i tell the

00:12:55 - 00:13:15 | Speaker 5:

listeners and you another scam that you got to be careful of you ever go to those places where They hand you over the iPad and it says on there 10%, 18%, 20%. Add up the number because the new scam now is the restaurants give you the suggestion of what the actual money will be and there are things wrong.

00:13:16 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 4:

Shut up.

00:13:17 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 5:

A couple of friends of mine that do some credit card clearing said that there's a couple of restaurants right now that are-

00:13:22 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 3:

Just the percentage math. So it's not what you're actually, whatever the number is, is what they're getting tipped.

00:13:26 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 5:

So if it's a $40 tab and it says 20%, 20% would be $8, it will say $10.20.

00:13:35 - 00:13:35 | Speaker 4:

Wow.

00:13:36 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 5:

So add it up and check it. Double check it because that's another scam that's going on.

00:13:40 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 4:

I care. I'm not paying the liars.

00:13:43 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 3:

Well, the money's still this. You know it's $10 and whether you're comfortable with that or not.

00:13:47 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 5:

No, but it's not. It's not correct. It's the thing. You're thinking it's the percentage. Listen, I just think just call it what it is.

00:13:55 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 3:

just put it on the bill if that's the case they've taken over cities before but this july they're bringing the x games league championship home to new orleans july 24th through 26 at the superdome over 100 elite athletes competing for the first ever league title plus metro booming jid subtronics and bunt performing live new orleans doesn't just host the moment new orleans is the moment Get your tickets now at xgames.com.
