This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:00:52 - 00:01:37 | Speaker 6:

I would say Bishop State is like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center. But it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family. So four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

00:01:37 - 00:01:45 | Speaker 5:

Guys, we got a good, exciting story to bring up here on the Mojo in the Morning Show. It's going to make everybody happy. Crazy Shannon is back. Crazy Shannon is back. Did she ever really go away? No, no. She hides. She hides, yeah. She's like the Hulk.

00:02:17 - 00:02:21 | Speaker 8:

Guys, I have a temper. Dickhead. I have a temper that is unlike any other. Yeah.

00:02:21 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 7:

By the way, Shannon, when she gets angry, she doesn't turn green. She turns red. I will F you up, bitch. And she will. My favorite ever was, I'll never forget this, was years and years ago on this radio show, you were on the air and we found out that crazy Shannon came back when she kicked in the dashboard of her ex's car. It was a glove compartment. The glove compartment, yes. It was a glove compartment. That's strange.

00:02:48 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 8:

I was like a little kid stomping my feet, but I stomped so hard, it actually smashed the glove compartment. Because I do ride in the passenger seat with my feet up, which I know is very bad. But why do we take, why do I, I will take full responsibility for this. Why do I take out my frustration on objects that can't feel that I'm frustrated? It makes no sense to me. Hulk smash. Yeah, basically. So we have one of those keypads to get into our garage. Do you know what I'm talking about, where you can just punch in the code and the garage door opens? I swear the one that we have is from 1995. It is so old. And the past couple of weeks, it's been taking like four, five, six tries of punching in the code for it to actually work. And then it started taking even more than that. I mean, this thing was just like dying a very slow death. So the other day, after the 18th try of punching in the cone, I finally took off the boot that was on my foot and just started bashing the thing. Oh, my God. I smashed it to absolute pieces. It was all over the driveway. All the little rubber buttons were everywhere. I was clearly in the mood. This thing needed to die. It didn't work. So I did it. No. it was no longer usable at all but guess what we got a brand new one and it's amazing

00:04:18 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 7:

is isn't it wonderful isn't it wonderful like the first thing that you do to fix anything is reboot the second thing that you do is pull your boot off and just start beating the thing

00:04:28 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 8:

up no i mean if i and wes was like dang it i wish that i could go back and look at it on on the camera that's right there is you just lose your absolute spit on this thing it's great but

00:04:39 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 7:

okay you have to call us up and tell us of the time that you lost your spit and what you lost your spit on like something that wasn't working or broken or i mean because you get so angry sometimes i'm not saying you but everybody does i think everybody does but you do i've never done I think everybody's got to

00:05:00 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 2:

crazy side but i think that shannon's is really crazy i think it gets gone girl you crazy i think

00:05:07 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 3:

could you imagine if somebody happened to be walking their dog like by my house and they see me just bashing the side of my garage with my boot how about the sweet old couple that lives next door to you that this is the other side of the house but i'm happy jan and keith didn't see

00:05:18 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 2:

this yeah i want to think very differently of me keith do you see what shannon just did

00:05:23 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 3:

Jan, I've always told you to be a little wary of her.

00:05:29 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 2:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I don't think there's a remote in my house that hasn't been thrown across the room. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. Comcast needs to figure something out with those damn remotes. That damn remote thing, I have to, sometimes I have to reset my TV, too, and I can pull it up from my, one time my remote got so bashed up, I had to use my phone as my remote.

00:05:53 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 3:

You need to order extra remotes on Amazon.

00:05:55 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 2:

I had no idea. I know what this is.

00:05:57 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 1:

Some of my favorite internet videos are people who rage quit. So if you're playing a game and maybe it's like a Call of Duty or a Madden and there's a big play or a big moment and you fail or you're in the short end of the sick, so to speak, and people break TVs, throw controllers through TVs, that's some of my favorite content.

00:06:15 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Sarah? How you doing?

00:06:17 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 7:

Good. How are you?

00:06:18 - 00:06:21 | Speaker 2:

You went off on Alexa. Is that true? Oh, she can get it.

00:06:21 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, so I was cleaning, and I was playing music, and my mom was calling me, so I was trying to tell Alexa to pause, and she stopped for a second and then just kept continuing the song. I'm not even exaggerating, like, ten times, so I was so frustrated, I went over there and ripped it out of the wall and smashed it on the ground. Why is it she never listens, but if you go like, Alexa, you dumb bitch, they're like, I'm sorry, what can I do to help? That bitch was a hoe. If she has an alarm that goes off, I'll tell her to, like, I'm like, all right, Alexa, off. And then she'll tell me what time it is and the weather of the day. I'm like, did I ask?

00:07:01 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 2:

I wonder if you yell and call her a bitch. Does she actually say to you, that's not nice or anything? Does that ever happen? Amber, what's going on? Hi, what did you go off on, Amber?

00:07:12 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 5:

I went, so I'm a postal worker.

00:07:14 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

Oh, you went postal.

00:07:15 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 5:

And so I'm a postal worker, and our mail comes from the distribution center all put in order for our route. Now, they're in little plastic trays that we set next to us. Well, when I was loading my truck, the last tray that I needed to put in the truck fell all over the parking lot. Oh.

00:07:39 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

So, of course, you did what every smart person does. You then just start kicking it around the parking lot, don't you?

00:07:45 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 5:

I texted a picture to my supervisor and I said, I'm about to lose it.

00:07:52 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 2:

I love that when that happens. I love when you drop something and then you just go, damn it. I can't do Starbucks. Let's come up with better little trays. Those trays, they're not. They're flimsy. You can't hold the cold drinks in those trays without dropping them. I think that they're convinced that they'll drop enough trays on you that you'll have to keep on going back and buying more. Initial N wants to be voice disguised. It must be really good.

00:08:18 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 3:

Oh, come on.

00:08:18 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 2:

What's up, N? Show you're crazy.

00:08:20 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

Be proud. Yeah. I don't think everybody... First of all, first time, long time. Hey, he's in the photo. Second of all, I don't think everybody loses a clue like that. I think it's something specific to people that are a little crazy.

00:08:34 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 2:

Oh, really? Oh, this is why he's doing it. He's making this comment because he's talking about Shannon. Okay. Are you passing judgment?

00:08:42 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I've been listening to you for a long time from New York.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 2:

Okay, and Shannon's always shown her crazy. It's just there, right?

00:08:50 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 4:

Yep.

00:08:51 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 2:

Dude, you're from New York.

00:08:52 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 4:

You are crazy.

00:08:54 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 2:

I like it.

00:08:57 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 4:

Where did Kevin get all his energy for the first time in a long time?

00:08:59 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but yeah, Kevin's got, well, Kevin, I've never seen Kevin lose it, though. Kevin just, Kevin gets quiet angry.

00:09:06 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 1:

That's a fact.

00:09:06 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 2:

He doesn't say much, but I want to see Kevin one time just kick in that window right here on the controller. What's up, Lindsay? How you doing?

00:09:14 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 6:

Hi, I'm good this morning. How are you?

00:09:16 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 2:

Fantastic. And by the way, for anybody that doesn't remember Old Mojo.

00:09:20 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God.

00:09:21 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

I used to, I threw staplers. We had more dents in that old building.

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 3:

You hear a laptop?

00:09:26 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I threw a laptop literally across the room.

00:09:29 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 3:

I want to see it. It was my favorite.

00:09:31 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

Shannon had to duck. What's going on, Lindsay?

00:09:35 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

I remember, it wasn't with me, but I remember as a kid waking up one morning to a bunch of noise downstairs in the kitchen and coming downstairs and watching my dad chucking all of the pans down the hallway out the door to the driveway because he was so angry that the food kept on sticking to the bottom of the non-stick pan and they just all went out the driveway so it's still a running joke

00:10:00 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 9:

family for that to happen it's hilarious that's awesome i have my daughter here with me right now we're actually running late to school because she wanted me to call in so oh my god is sitting here next hi honey how are you have a great day at school we love love you take care give mom a hug

00:10:25 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 8:

Chelsea. Hi, sorry. So when I first started dating my husband, it had been like a month in and he was refinishing his basement. And we just got new car or he just got new carpet put in. And we were carrying stuff down the stairs and he was doing touch ups with paint. And as we're carrying stuff down the stairs, he turned and he kicked a gallon of paint over on the brand new carpet. And he turned beet red it got very quiet and he just goes i'll be right back and i stood there and i kept thinking like it's okay we're gonna fix it the inner teacher and he's like i have a plan we're gonna get the shot back and i couldn't find him and i went outside and he was beating the tree oh my god i'd do the same too stephanie what's up hey so i'm a catholic school teacher and i

00:11:19 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 9:

had this kid in my class who would not stop talking and one day i was doing a lesson and he's talking and i had a stapler in my hand and i just went off on the desk in front his desk because he's sitting in the front of the class and i just completely demolished the stapler it was great springs actually ended up in some other kid's hair

00:11:42 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 6:

by the way she did that in the cross was right over her shoulder at that particular moment i wonder how many times teachers have wanted to like throw things in class because kids are such a pain in the ass nick what's up hi how's it going mojo how are you doing good man we're talking about shannon losing it and she went crazy again yep yep yeah so i uh first time long time

00:12:38 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 8:

Not the craziest thing you'll find on the trail.

00:12:41 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 7:

Your own radio. Yep, my own radio.

00:12:44 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 6:

Tell me, did that end that relationship right there? Did she move on?

00:12:50 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 7:

No, no, she didn't. It was a little bit after that that she moved on. But, yeah, that was one of the fun straws. Oh, my God.

00:12:56 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 6:

After you do that and you don't have the radio, now you're like, crap, now we've got to talk.

My name is Medterica, Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't
