My name is Metarica Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. We were going to get something to eat. So thinking about going to get something to eat, she says, I'll drive. So we go in her garage and she used to have a Jeep. This car that we got in wasn't that Jeep. So I go, you get a new car? Like, what happened to your Jeep? She was like, oh, my boyfriend bust the windows out of my Jeep. It's in the collision shop right now getting fixed. Now, in my mind, every time that I've heard about crazy exes, it's been the reverse. it's always been projected that you know women are the ones that key the cars put the sugar in the gas tank bust the windows out so I was extremely shocked when I heard that her boyfriend was the one that was busting windows out the car on his Jasmine Sullivan

have to say. I would say Bishop State is like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people. Classmates, please in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So they'll be able to meet new people or meet heads of new people have been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits
