All right. It's Mojo in the morning show. I want to get this person on the air to talk about it. The only problem is this person is never up before 10 a.m. because they go out all the time. They go out at night and they're always, you know, out late and then late going home and sleeping in till 10. I don't think they've ever listened to this radio show. But so my my buddy's daughter has this happening. She's like mid-20s.

00:02:27 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

00:02:27 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 2:

And she has this going on lately, and he was telling me the story. He was telling me a story about how she will go out with her girlfriends, and they will hang out in, like, Birmingham, which is a suburb here in the area that has a lot of restaurants and, you know, late-night fare. And she won't drive to Birmingham because, obviously, she wants to drink and have some cocktails. Yeah. And so she'll take an Uber home. and he was telling me that she no longer can take ubers home she has to call him or call her mom to come pick her up because the uber drivers are creepy so let me let me read real quick because i wrote down some of the comments that he made the quotes and stuff he said okay here you go here's one this is just one driver no this is numerous drivers okay okay so this has happened to her numerous times from different drivers and i don't know as a woman if i would get into an uber after hearing some of these things um it starts with the guys asking where's your boyfriend where's your husband like why are they asking that you know to find out if you have one and then it goes into are you dating right now and what kind of guys do you date to in some of the cases she's had it where the guys would talk to her about how beautiful she is or how she looked that night and say you look really good were you drinking tonight like to ask that question almost in kind of a way that you're like what's up and one particular guy he was telling me drove her to her house now she lives with her parents so drove her to her house which her parents are there and got out of the car and said i want to make sure you get to the door to walk her to the door yeah all right somebody needs to talk to me about this somebody needs to tell me i thought we had uber woman or whatever it was wasn't there it's harder to get it is those ones so uber and now by the way i believe that they have all these levels of uber but there's really no level because i did i tried to get an uber black one time because i figured to myself i want to get an uber black it was a subaro yeah yeah you can't black what was her name the driver actually you know what it was a black man i looked at him i go are you driving a woman's car right now whose car are you

00:04:44 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 1:

driving is renee is this renee's car those i mean the the second half of the comments are definitely very creepy yes like have you been drinking is um here's the thing well i mean

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

if i'm an uber driver i want to know in case you try

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 1:

to throw up in my backseat or something but if it's to that point i know i don't need to ask you know you know somebody's gonna vomit and if they're very clearly intoxicated i said to my

00:05:10 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 6:

friend i said like how safe do you feel about this and he said he said honestly i i would rather wake up in the middle of the night or or late you know middle of the night for him is probably 10 o'clock at night or something like that but i'd rather wake up f from a sleep to go pick her up or know that I have to stay up to go pick her up at like midnight or whatever it is, making sure she gets home safe.

00:05:32 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:05:32 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 6:

You know?

00:05:33 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:05:33 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 6:

That's crazy.

00:05:35 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 1:

I feel blessed I've never had a creepy Uber experience. And I actually have had an Uber driver who walked me to my garage, but he was this little sweet old man. I had had him several times and I had been drinking and he was like, I'm just going to walk you to. And I didn't think anything weird. I mean, when I say old, he was probably 80.

00:05:53 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 6:

What would you, what do you think he would have done? Would he have a heart attack? if you said, I want to invite you in for a nightcap?

00:05:57 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 1:

No, I honestly did not feel anything weird. He was very kind.

00:06:01 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 6:

He tased you. You wake up in the trunk. The old guy's great until you find out.

00:06:07 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 1:

I think he was more so leaning on me as we walked.

00:06:10 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 6:

He's like, look at this lady here. Nicole, what's going on? Hi.

00:06:16 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 4:

Hi. So I'm a Lyft driver, and with Uber, they do background checks, but they do not, they're not as contingent on, like, your background check. You can have a felony and still drive for Uber.

00:06:32 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 6:

Really? That doesn't mean a good thing for them.

00:06:35 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

Not even that. That's terrible if that's true. Right. You don't need to have a record to just be creepy.

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

True.

00:06:42 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 1:

Right.

00:06:42 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 4:

But you can also, like, if somebody on the platform driving for Uber, somebody else that you don't know could be also driving for them like with lyft they do verify identity verification so they know that you're the one driving interesting with uber they

00:07:02 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 6:

don't they don't do that i've had that happen to me nicole where a driver showed up and i'm like that wasn't the person in the picture like you're not yeah that has happened that's i'm confused

00:07:11 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

like a friend of yours could drive off of your off of your account using your account wow uh

00:07:17 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 6:

Hold on a second here. Michelle, what's up, Michelle? How you doing?

00:07:23 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 3:

Hey, we were taught not to get in cars with strangers. Now we get in cars with strangers and we pay for that.

00:07:31 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 6:

Isn't that crazy? It doesn't make any sense, Michelle. Michelle, have you ever been in a rideshare and felt uncomfortable?

00:07:39 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 3:

Yes, when I was out in Orange County, California, I thought I was going to die.

00:07:45 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

What happened?

00:07:45 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 3:

This guy was creepy. he took us like on detours he took us on detours where we weren't going I was with a friend of mine and I was like where are you going and he's like well I gotta go this way and I'm like no you don't

00:08:03 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 6:

okay so you bring up a really interesting point he told me that that happened to his daughter once too so he lives like off of the main drag that goes through the town that she goes to like he lives right off of that He started doing side roads.

00:08:17 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 5:

See, I'm cool with that, though.

00:08:19 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 6:

Not if there's a straight line on a busier street.

00:08:23 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 5:

Sometimes I tell you like this. Sometimes when I take, because if I'm drinking and I live downtown and I'm going to, like, say, for example, my cousin's wedding last Friday. The Lyft had us taken away that I wouldn't have taken because I know a better route in order to get there.

00:08:36 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:08:37 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 5:

We all have that where Lyft will send you left and you're like, no, why would they send me that direction? I should have go this way.

00:08:42 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 1:

So I always, and I think it's habit when I get into Uber, I just started using Lyft, which actually I like better, but I always put a map to the destination. If I don't know where I'm going to the destination, I might, like I pull up Google maps. If I'm in another town and put the hotel in there so that I can like kind of follow along on my own because the Uber app just takes you where your driver's going.

00:09:03 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 6:

But on your Uber, you can see their map that it's telling them to go.

00:09:06 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 1:

No, I know. But I'm saying I'm not paying attention. I'm kind of not paying attention.

00:09:11 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 6:

but this guy veered off of that map like the map of where they're going like he went on he

00:09:16 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

which is exactly why i do what i do i do it all the time when i'm in another city you shouldn't

00:09:20 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 6:

be allowed to go off of their map because it is identifying where you're going what's up stephanie

00:09:25 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

how you doing i'm doing good i'm the first time long time thank you uh i was just saying that This just sounds like a nice guy. And since when is walking someone to the door a red flag?

00:09:42 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 6:

Well, when she's wearing a miniskirt and just had a bunch of espresso martinis, you know?

00:09:50 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 2:

I don't know. I think it's just her perception, and they could have just been nice, innocent dudes.

00:09:56 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 5:

That's right, Stephanie.

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

Please be safe out there.

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 8:

Stephanie, I just wanted to hear what you said. Thank you for the call. Jovan, what's up, Jovan?

00:10:05 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Mojo, good morning, everybody. Good morning. Hey, look, just real quick, I've been doing this full-time overnight in the Detroit area, only at night. I have gotten pretty much only the fun people, but all of the stories I get are about the drivers being extra creepy. People are way too relaxed, and they don't pay attention. Everybody needs to be careful because these drivers are too many. Unfortunately, they're not, don't have the best intentions. I hear it all the time.

00:10:34 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 8:

Javon, do you tell them, hey, you got to report that guy? Because as an Uber driver that does it the right way, I would not want them out there, you know?

00:10:43 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

Absolutely. And by the way, Lyft is the sketchy one. I heard that other lady say you could have a felony. Uber goes back about 10 to 15 years. Lyft does not go back as far. See, I'm cool with that, though.

00:11:00 - 00:11:00 | Unknown:

Wow.

00:11:00 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 5:

Okay. Hey, look, listen. It's completely fine to do an in-depth check. Yeah. But all of the sketchy stuff that I'm hearing all the time is almost always on Lyft. This is what I'm saying, though. As long as you weren't locked up for no sex crimes, I'm straight.

00:11:17 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 8:

You got to be able to drive, bro. Like, if you went in there for money laundering, what that got to do with me going to Starbucks? Weed crimes I'm okay with, you know. I'm just trying to go to the store. Hold on. What's up, Michelle?

00:11:28 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 1:

Hey, I was just calling in. So, I'm in GR, and I was downtown one day, and I wanted to go home by myself and all my friends. So, they took a picture of the license plate, and the whole way home, the guy was like, oh, I'm not going to kidnap you, like laughing, and it just made it.

00:11:48 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 8:

yeah when they say that to you you're like okay why are you even thinking that honestly i'm almost at a point now where don't talk to me you know what i mean you like it you said it at quiet

00:12:00 - 00:12:05 | Speaker 3:

yeah that's my preference quiet preferred are they always quiet no sometimes they're chatty

00:12:05 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 8:

and i'm like did you read what i put in i worry about you i do worry about you because i first off i you know i see that you wear outfits that are very nice and i worry and you're an attractive lady and you're going home by yourself. I think you've got to be careful.

00:12:25 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 3:

One time an Uber I wanted to say this earlier. He had to make a stop. It was at his house.

00:12:30 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 7:

No way. I don't know.

00:12:33 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 3:

This is weird so I looked in the trunk. Shell casings. Kevin just farted for the eight times.

00:12:40 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 7:

Keep going. Shell casings.

00:12:42 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 3:

How did you look in the trunk?

00:12:44 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 7:

You got out of the car and opened the trunk.

00:12:45 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 3:

I was in the back seat and I was like why are we stopping at his house? and then I just peeked in the back seat, shell casings. Luckily, it was me and a bunch of my friends. If I was by myself, I would have got out of the car. That's crazy. Holy cow. Yeah.

00:12:55 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 8:

What do you have to stop at the house for?

00:12:57 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 7:

Don't know.

00:12:58 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 8:

The gun. Come on with a black bag. The gun.
