00:03:00 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 6:

um dating without being married so you're hanging out with the guys this weekend man so not just

00:03:08 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 7:

the guys my girl uh b bnt britney and tomorrow shout out to the homies uh britney moved to atlanta so she was in town this weekend had a chance to catch up with her and i was fun homie tomorrow that's just the homie he was there too so we go out for brunch anytime brittany comes in town we have like this thing where we just go to brunch so we go to brunch and we're brunching you know we got the mimosas going shout out to the mango mimosas i don't know if you've ever had a mango mimosa if they have the option for one highly suggest you use it and tell the woman you only want the juice or woman or guy whoever doing that for us it was a lady that was doing that's why i said that um just add a little juice just for color you don't really want juice you just need a little splash in there spray yeah yeah just just to give you the tint so ask for a little tint in mind mimosas are flowing and it's an attractive waitress who's not our waitress as walking back and forth my boy team make mention of it here and there what the what the what she come by at this point i guess you know now's the opportunity to actually speak to her so he's like hey um how you doing i'm cool he's like um you look nice they kind of talk for whatever then he's like are you single she's like no at this point she flattered she's like no no i'm in a relationship but how long you been together she's like 10 years you're like 10 years and you're not married she's like no we're not married he's like well i mean time is winding up when you're gonna get married she's i'm telling then she starts to get like that if he doesn't propose to me pretty soon then it'll be over in my mind i'm like you've been with him for 10 years at this point like you locked in if you haven't let in my mind if you've been with somebody for 10 years and he hasn't proposed to you even if y'all have talked about getting married if you're not married 10 years in you're probably not going to get married that's funny because it's not the

00:04:49 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

case for anybody i know who dated that long okay how give me give me more than that like um my two cousins dated for 12 years before they got married my other cousin dated her now husband for

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 1:

eight years the what wedding i went to a couple of weeks ago they've been together nine or ten years and they just got married like everybody i know who's been dating that long is married did they start dating like in high school or college so only one of those couples okay okay

00:05:14 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

yeah because i i could see it that way yeah at some point when somebody's married if somebody's with somebody for 20 years why get married like at what point at what point why get i mean i guess you have kids and you want benefits but you can get benefit can't you get benefits with a partner

00:05:30 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 3:

a long-term partner or no um do you have to get married you can i don't i don't know okay i don't

00:05:37 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 2:

know this is by the way can i just say something about you and your friends preach that guy that this is the hot waitress right that's with them 20 years that guy that is with a hot waitress at the mango man mimosa place is so pissed off at you because she went home and said i had a table Full of guys That all said And this guy's going I don't know

00:05:58 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 3:

Okay so my question Why are you talking About my business

00:06:01 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 1:

She sounds like She wants to get married She's just waiting And waiting And waiting And waiting She made the point To say If he doesn't hurry up Then it'll be over Cause he was kind of Flirt with him Like if y'all don't You know How long does he have Da da da da But in my mind It's like 10 years Megan and I understand Cause my thought was like Where Shannon's mind Was going was like If the relationship happens Where you meet Freshman year Or sophomore year Something like that In high school And then you continue you want like that i can understand but like if you're an adult no and you go 10 years i just don't know how how that works one person really really wants to get married yeah a couple just got married a couple weeks ago that are my cousins they're in their 40s they've been dating 10 years just got married a couple weeks ago was it like a reason why they didn't get married sooner or

00:06:42 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 2:

that you know of no i would i would be by the way 844 mojo live if anybody's in a relationship like this where they're long term like and we're talking you know double or less than double digits that you guys have been together without getting married um what is keeping you from getting married i'm sure it's got to be finances right or is it that you just don't necessarily feel like you need to do the whole legal thing i think that it's i think that it's one of those things where we're seeing less and less people that want the hassles in the the bs of getting married they only want it for because they you know figure that a family member might want to do it you know what i mean like i don't think marriage i think the symbolism of marriage and this is kind of sad to say this but i think there's so many people that get married and

00:07:27 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

get divorced they're like why complicate things you know and i i would i would no i fully understand where you're coming from my hope is that people wouldn't look at somebody else's situation and allow that situation to dim their light yeah what's happening maria

00:07:44 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 2:

maria yes hi who are you maria yes hi i'm the hot waitress from uh oh my god wait a second so not only i knew she was not only is your guy got a lot of crap from uh these guys talking to you this weekend now we're talking about it on the radio this has got to be even worse i love it it's hilarious wait did you go home and say to him i waited on a table full of guys and girls that were all talking about our relationship

00:08:18 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 3:

oh yes absolutely and he knows it too i give him so much you know stuff for it yeah so let me ask

00:08:25 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 2:

you maria uh if he said to you today will you marry me you'd jump at that of course and do you think that he what are the odds that he says it to you today probably zero zero really

00:08:40 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 3:

0.0, yeah.

00:08:42 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 2:

0.0. Maria, does it ever frustrate you?

00:08:47 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 3:

Oh, of course. You know, we've been dating for a long time, so, you know, I've given a lot of years to him, so, you know. But it's different because, like, we almost act like we're married. We're not married on paper, but we live together. We act like we're married. We do everything together. We're best friends. So it's like we are married, but we're not.

00:09:08 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 2:

so uh when these guys were hitting on you slash getting your story because come on that's a hitting on job that was these guys were these guys were flirting weren't they maria is beautiful maria maria are you ever tempted to leave your situation if something better i'm not no no wow okay i love him you do say does his family and your family give you guys crap for this

00:09:36 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 3:

oh absolutely my my family is super like old school tradition like even me living with him

00:09:44 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 2:

is like crazy right now yeah what what uh would be the longest that you would stay with him without

00:09:49 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

being married probably for like another six months i think wow he does he know that

00:09:58 - 00:10:28 | Unknown:

Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 1:

Yes. So if he doesn't do something in the next six months, then you're out.

00:10:07 - 00:10:08 | Unknown:

Yes. Wow.

00:10:09 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 1:

What are your thoughts? What are the percentages that he does something?

00:10:14 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 4:

I'm hoping 100. I really do. I mean, I get where you're coming from if that's a goal for you, but I just feel like how do you step out on a relationship with somebody you love, but also how are they not meeting you halfway? It seems so complicated.

00:10:28 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 1:

Hold on one second. Keep her there for a second. You're going to stay on the phone with us while I grab some of these calls. Ashley, are you there?

00:10:34 - 00:10:35 | Unknown:

Yes.

00:10:35 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 1:

Ashley, I got Maria on the phone. She's the hot waitress that Kev and his friends all met this weekend. What's your situation?

00:10:43 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 3:

So I've been together with my fiancé for 12 years, and I wanted a wedding so bad, but six months before my mom passed, she told me she would never see me walk down the aisle, and it was a sudden passing. We didn't know what was going to happen, so I refused to get married now.

00:11:08 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 1:

Whoa, okay. So you actually had circumstances that were obviously tragic for you and your family and that's the reason why you're not going to get married. That makes me kind of sad, though. I'm sad by that.

00:11:22 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I've always grew up wanting like the big beautiful wedding and everything like that and uh she had said six months before she passed that um she would never see me walk down the aisle because she just knew that um at first it was just like money you know situations but um then she unfortunately suddenly passed and i just can't bring myself to get married but don't you think her you can

00:11:51 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 1:

do something nice for her memory by doing it getting married and do something kind of cool

00:11:55 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 3:

for her yeah i could um but just in the back of my head it's just like she's not gonna be there my mom was like a big part of my life like she was a big like i get that it would feel like

00:12:08 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 4:

something was missing you can't rob yourself of those life experiences and know that she

00:12:15 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 1:

she will be there listen i i will say this i know how hard it is to lose a parent i lost my mom too But I feel like my mom's with me every single day, and she's the one that's helping me in my life every single day. So I would hope that you'd feel that same feeling with your mom and maybe not just say I'm not going to do it, but maybe give it a little bit of time. I like these. By the way, Maria, we're getting texters here right now that must know exactly where Kev was at drinking these things because they all say if your guy doesn't ask you, they'll ask you. They'll come back in. There's a lot of people. Christine, are you there, Christine?

00:12:51 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 2:

I'm here. Hey, y'all.

00:12:53 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 1:

Doing hey, y'all. What's happening? What's going on? That's what happens when we play Post Malone and Morgan Wallen together. We get some hey, y'alls.

00:13:02 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 2:

Well, I'm in Georgia, so I've been here for about like 13 years. So it's grown off me, but I am an original Detroiter.

00:13:09 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 1:

In Georgia, you guys have all kinds of different laws that are different than ours. If you're together for a period of time, aren't you already married?

00:13:14 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 2:

no i'm not sure if they have common law uh like common what is it called it's common law yeah

00:13:23 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 1:

common law marriage i think we have it i think we have it maybe in michigan somebody has to google

00:13:28 - 00:13:40 | Speaker 2:

that i'm not sure but um question for you i've been together how long yeah oh for about 20 years i was 17 and now i'm going to be like 37 next month hey maria's on the phone with us right now

00:13:40 - 00:13:43 | Speaker 1:

Maria, refresh everybody's memory. How long have you guys been together?

00:13:44 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 2:

10 years.

00:13:45 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 1:

So she's been together half that time. She actually gave him an ultimatum. What do you think about that?

00:13:52 - 00:14:41 | Speaker 2:

That's really sketchy. And I don't say that, you know, in a negative, from a negative perspective. But it's, you know, you both have to be ready. If he's still with you, at least I think that he needs to make a commitment. And in my situation, my fiancé, well, I mean, now we're, he's my fiancé. He proposed to me a few years ago, but we just had, you know, life was happening. There was a point where I was in college way back when I was working two jobs. His job was really demanding, but we made a commitment. So I think that that's the biggest thing that people have to look at at first is, well, is he committed to you? Is he invested in the relationship? And just allow the time, allow it to organically happen.

00:14:41 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 1:

Maria, what happens if he does propose to you within this six-month period of time, but then wants a long engagement?

00:14:50 - 00:14:51 | Speaker 2:

I would definitely be with him.

00:14:52 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 1:

So you just want a ring. That's all you want. You want the ring.

00:14:57 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 2:

As the other woman was saying, I would...

00:15:00 - 00:15:51 | Speaker 4:

just like to be a little bit more committed you know just i know we're committed we live together but i just want something to kind of solidify that sure that's understandable okay mojo in the morning what's up christina hey good morning good morning so two things i'm curious you know if they're best friends and like so in tune like what are his reservations why wouldn't he want to marry this beautiful woman and for two the saying goes and i love it don't let your boyfriend hold back from your husband if you want to get married and you want this life but you're with someone for so long and you're like well i don't want to start over your boyfriend is holding you back from your husband you could be done with him and find someone that wants to marry you tomorrow and is a great partner wow did you hear that one yeah i really like that maria what is how does that make you feel i mean i understand her too i i completely get it why don't we do this why don't we tell him

00:15:51 - 00:16:03 | Speaker 6:

that we'll get him a deal at Lucido Fine Jewelry on a ring. And then we'll officiate it. I'll officiate it and Kevin will be your maid of honor. I got you.

00:16:05 - 00:16:06 | Unknown:

I love it.

00:16:06 - 00:16:06 | Speaker 4:

Perfect.

00:16:07 - 00:16:08 | Speaker 6:

Talk to him. Yes, Megan? Can you what?

00:16:09 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, it's fine.

00:16:11 - 00:16:17 | Speaker 6:

Oh, okay. Megan wants to also be one of the maids of honor too. Shannon, you can too. You know what? I'm going to be at Lucido.

00:16:17 - 00:16:28 | Speaker 2:

I'm going to be at Lucido right by your restaurant on Wednesday. Okay. Happen to stroll in with your boyfriend And I'll be there And we will help make this happen

00:16:28 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 6:

00:16:35 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 4:

00:16:38 - 00:16:48 | Speaker 6:
