00:02:26 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 6:

from price lock mobile data speeds reduced after 20 gigs mojo in the morning so with uh the super bowl happening and a lot of people uh excited over that i want to a lot i'm not excited you do not sound excited i'm not i'm not into it i'm not into it because the lions broke my heart and broke up with me a couple of weeks ago and i still haven't been able to get over it like i really was anticipating at least an nfc championship game you know so so needless to say i'll just go along with it you know what is happening right now though too and somebody needs to tell me this so my kids are in their uh 20s and then also teens so i have joe and then jacob and then i've got luke and my children two out of three of them are degenerate gamblers like and when i mean degenerate gamblers like i'm talking about joe bets on like badminton on the weekends like if there's no if there's no football like it's like it's crazy and luke has gotten to a point now where luke is and he's been calling like chelsea a couple of times and he's called me a couple of times telling me like he needs gas money. And I'm like, first off, you live on campus in a frat house and you do have a car, but your car is only to come home and you haven't been home in a couple of weeks. Like, what are you needing gas for? And I realized it's for gambling. And I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and he was telling me, he's like, yeah, his kids are high school and he's got one that's a freshman in college. And he was telling me, he's like, yeah, he goes, I had to pay my kids gambling debts. And I go, what are you talking about? And he goes, yeah he goes he's on one of the apps and he's like you know doing all this gambling and stuff with his friends and i realized i'm like oh my god these kids get in and if you think it's crazy that they're on these things there are buddies of mine whose kids got on these things when they were like in high school yeah because their parents were able to get an account for them and give them an account to do it and it's funny because if you talk to me about gambling i don't know parlays and i don't know like odds like i'm not good at that like shannon you brought up in a dirty one time you're like is this good odds or bad odds i can't answer that well no i don't even

00:04:44 - 00:04:53 | Speaker 1:

know how to say the like there were there were odds about this weekend and how often taylor swift was going to be shown during the game and i was like is it do i say plus 750 i think i don't even

00:04:53 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

know what i'm saying like i know the points of a game like when they say okay here's total points and you know you're gonna bet the over the under i you know

00:05:00 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 3:

okay i can figure that out and i also know like if there's a team favorite like the chiefs are favored by whatever what are they are they favored by like two or something like that or something but i know that but i don't know like the the odds but you talk to my son luke luke can tell you everything like luke like luke can figure this whole thing out and and it's gotten to a point now where i i think that they're gambling so much that literally because these apps are available which more power to the apps I love it they advertise a ton on our station it's great I actually honestly have an app that I talk about on the air all the time and I use the app but when I was you know a kid and I was I never would in a million years like you would I think the only gambling that we had was we played basketball or something like that or we play one and we play with our friends like it was it was cash gambling I understand it though the kids these days they

00:05:56 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 2:

live and they breathe with their cell phones in their hands so they're aware of what's going on it's in their face 100 percent of the time they know who's scoring they know who's out they know

00:06:06 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 1:

what team is underperforming so they have all the information that hit a dopamine when you're making

00:06:10 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 3:

money on there it's addictive yeah for sure all right i want to ask this question do we have any college kids that are listening to the show or anybody that's listening that's younger or maybe parents will you call and tell us like are you have your kids ever gotten in trouble with gambling like if there has it ever gotten to a point because i ain't gonna lie to you i'm like worried i'm gonna get a door knock pop pop pop pop pop and there's gonna be some italian guy because for some reason i always think the italians are the ones that come after you and like break legs yeah the mafia you've seen casino i've seen casino there's gonna be a guy in a black suit and it's gonna say you youths he's gonna come after and he's gonna like try and he's gonna to like arrest my kid or not arrest my kid, but kill my kid. Like it's going to, you know, it's going to be one of those situations. Like, I think that this is going to get to a point where it's like, Oh, watch out. They're going to be in some major debt. And are there any parents that have ever had to clean out and clear out some of their, their major debt? Um, Lydia, will you dial up Joe's, uh, number on his hotline? Cause I want to talk to him real quick. Cause he is the biggest degenerate gambler that I know. What's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. Hello.

00:07:19 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 4:

hi um i was calling in about the gambling um yeah that they're talking about yes exactly

00:07:26 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 3:

tell us our who's the degenerate gambler that we know of

00:07:30 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 4:

oh i have a couple friends i'm like 25 and my friends that's all they do anytime they even have a group chat called degenerate gamblers and they just sit there and they're

00:07:44 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 3:

They're parlaying games, and they're parlaying, like, you know, who's going to score first and who's going to be.

00:07:51 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 4:

They're even, like, so after all the games are over, if they're up, they start betting on Chinese ping-pongs. Are you kidding me?

00:08:02 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I'm telling you, Joe does that. Like, if you talk to Joe from the Joe show, this kid is nonstop on there. One time I called him up, and I said to him, I go, what are you doing? And he goes, I'm betting on how many times the commercial for Geico comes up. And I'm like, what? How can you bet on stuff like that? Like, they have everything that's going on there.

00:08:24 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

No, they're not answering. Yeah, it's crazy. They're not?

00:08:28 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 3:

The Joe show's not answering at all?

00:08:31 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 1:

Does he ever play any of the, like, video poker? Like, he's just placing bets on stuff.

00:08:39 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 3:

No, he and Luke play blackjack all the time.

00:08:42 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 1:

Oh, they do.

00:08:42 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 3:

Which I used to do that, too. Like, I was bad.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

I remember when you went through, like, a little phase of doing that.

00:08:48 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 3:

Well, they came on, and I started doing the commercials. And when I started doing the commercials, I was like, oh, look what they gave me to do these commercials. They gave me, like, $1,000 credit. And I'm like, oh, this is great. You know, $1,000 credit ends up turning into me getting, like, I'm like the guy. I got cocaine coming out of my head. It's like the greatest. So I handed him What's going on, Hannah? How you doing? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:09:15 - 00:09:16 | Speaker 5:

Hi, I'm good. How are you guys?

00:09:17 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 3:

Good. What's up?

00:09:19 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 5:

So I love when my man's parlay hits because that always means that we're going shopping and then to dinner. Oh. And I, yeah, it's so fun. And he always, like, whenever we're watching a game, he'll have, like, the sports app on his phone open. Yeah. So he's watching both in real time to, like, check and make sure his parlay's going to hit because it's not just, like, the points. It's also, like, who is going to have this many yards by this time? I don't know. It's so complicated.

00:09:48 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

It's so funny. I actually know a lot of women that are into it, and I know you don't know, like, the terminology or what's going on. You just like to spend that money. But I will tell you, I know a lot of women that do it, too. It's wild.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 2:

I would do it, too, if he, like, told me what to put in, you know? Yeah. Because he always gets that parlay to hit.

00:10:06 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. You know what? He doesn't want to teach you because he's worried that you'll be better than him. What's going on, Voices guys? C, what's up, C?

00:10:15 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 4:

Hi, guys. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning.

00:10:18 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 1:

What's going on?

00:10:19 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 4:

So my boyfriend's best friend is addicted to gambling. I mean, he gambles or bets on everything. They've lost their house or their apartment. and he lost their car and when she was pregnant last year um that's when they lost everything and they're in a house now but he's still gambling oh my god wow it sounds to me like

00:10:46 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 1:

his gambling is not on apps his gambling is going further than apps isn't it well he does

00:10:51 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 4:

the fantasy football betting he does the betting on all the football games yeah he does um the

00:10:59 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 1:

fan duel but i i think here's the thing i think i think that that's a guy i guarantee you that's taking money from people and he's probably if he's losing his house like you don't you're not losing your house off of you know just a quick little gamble here or there like that's a guy that's

00:11:14 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 4:

going deep his parents are well off okay so i'm sure that has something to do with it yeah um and He's the baby.

00:11:23 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 1:

Oh, so he gets away with that stuff.

00:11:26 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 4:

I'm sure, but I can't believe every time my boyfriend hangs out with him, there's always something he's lost.

00:11:32 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. Yeah. That's a guy that's honestly, he's just got bad luck. You know what I mean? Because I know people that lose, but I also know people that win sometimes. And it sounds to me like he's never winning if he's losing all this stuff. You've got to stop playing. I know. Yeah, take that away from him. Did Joe Show answer at all yet?

00:11:51 - 00:11:59 | Speaker 3:

Nope, I ring them about five times. They gamble. I love that you're not taking a no answer for an answer.

00:12:00 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 1:

Can I tell you why I'm not? I want to make sure that I get him on the phone because I want everybody to see the person that I think that his mother raised.

00:12:12 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 3:

As long as it's not you, right?

00:12:14 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 1:

Hold on, why is he... Hey, you got a second I can talk to you on the air?

00:12:19 - 00:12:19 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:12:20 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 1:

Lydia, call his cell phone. She's going to call your cell phone right now because I can't pick it up on the air. You'll love this topic we're talking about.

00:12:28 - 00:12:29 | Unknown:

Can you call the on-air number?

00:12:29 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 1:

Call the on-air number, Lydia.

00:12:30 - 00:12:31 | Speaker 2:

Oh, I already did.

00:12:31 - 00:12:34 | Speaker 1:

She's called it like five times and nobody's answering or something.

00:12:35 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 2:

Okay, well, that's because we're...

00:12:36 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 1:

Okay, she's calling you right now.

00:12:38 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 4:

See, he's good at making excuses for his behavior. I know.

00:12:43 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 1:

She's calling you right now. All right, call up. Hold on, Misfit Victor's on. What's up, Victor? How you doing?

00:12:50 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Joe was actually doing an over and under on how many times you would call the on-air number.

00:12:56 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 1:

By the way, Victor, stay on here real quick for one second. Joe shows on, and I want to make sure I get them for a second. Joe, are you there?

00:13:02 - 00:13:03 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:13:03 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 1:

I was telling the listeners how much of a degenerate gambler you are and how you've become this way.

00:13:09 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 2:

No, no, no, no. I bet responsibly.

00:13:12 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 1:

You bet responsibly on badminton and beach volleyball. and, like, if there's no sports going on, you bet on, like, stupid stuff.

00:13:22 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 2:

Well, listen, I love the ESPN Bets app, and I gamble responsibly, and if you've got a gambling problem, you've got to make sure that you call the number that is on the end of my commercials. Real quick. I'll gamble on anything if I can gamble on it. Sometimes, because you guys know I'm in Tampa, I'll go to this, it's called Nebraska Ave, and I'll gamble on how many crackheads I can get to ask me if they could bum a cigarette.

00:13:49 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 3:

What is the craziest thing you've ever bet on the app, though?

00:13:55 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 2:

Well, it depends, because if I'm in Michigan, I use the ESPN Bets app. But when I'm in Florida, you have to use another app. And when I'm here, like they have table tennis. I do a lot of table tennis.

00:14:07 - 00:14:08 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh. Seriously.

00:14:09 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. When I go on my afternoon rooms, I'll play a couple of bets. Yeah, ping pong. Yeah. Well, and it's a bunch of, you don't even know who they are, but you start to learn their names and stuff. It's a lot of, like, Phillips with an F. And, you know, it's kind of just, yeah, I don't know. Hold on.

00:14:25 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 1:

Misfit Victor is also on the phone with us, too. He's another guy that's a degenerate gambler, too. Victor, say hi to the Joe Show.

00:14:31 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

I'm a recovering degenerate gambler. I used to bet on Chinese basketball. It'd be, like, 4 in the morning. And it'd be, like, Korean baseball. And then what I would do is I would Google both the teams and see how many Americans were on each team. I'm like, okay, this team has like nine Americans. This other team only has four Americans. So I'm like, this team's going to win for sure. And I put money on them, and I fall asleep.

00:15:00 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 4:

Wake up in the morning and find out if Shanghai Fireflies lost to the whatever. Oh, my God. It's just crazy. But you should be lucky. You should be happy that they're just using the app instead of, like, using a bookie. Because the app's never going to come after Luke.

00:15:16 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 7:

And that's what I say. Joe has turned Luke into a gambler, too. Like, he's calling every week asking for gas money, so to speak, Joe.

00:15:24 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 5:

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And I like it. I encourage it because it's fun. It's fun to have a dog in the race, and it's fun to gamble with people. The worst is Jed will tell me, hey, yeah, I'm betting on this, and then I'll place the bet, and then I find out later he's all happy when I lost the bet. Why are you happy? He goes, well, I took the other team.

00:15:42 - 00:15:43 | Unknown:

This is true.

00:15:44 - 00:15:48 | Speaker 7:

Joe and Jed and everybody, and Victor, who are you guys taking this weekend? Who's winning this weekend?

00:15:48 - 00:16:01 | Speaker 6:

Eagles. I think Eagles. Yes, sir. Some guy on Instagram yesterday said out of the last 10 Super Bowls or something like that, the situation that happened, The team is like 0-10 that comes back and tries to win.

00:16:01 - 00:16:16 | Speaker 5:

I am gambling on things like first touchdown, color of Gatorade. I'm not betting on anything involving the Chiefs. My kind of bets. I've lost a lot of money on the Chiefs. But then I want it all back on the Lions. Jameer Gibbs, first touchdown.

00:16:17 - 00:16:17 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:16:17 - 00:16:17 | Speaker 5:

Yo.

00:16:17 - 00:16:20 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. Hammer it. Victor, who are you taking this weekend?

00:16:21 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 4:

I'm taking the Eagles on first touchdown. You've got to go with Saquon Barkley.

00:16:25 - 00:16:25 | Speaker 7:

Okay.

00:16:25 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 4:

All right. I think the guy's going to have probably.

00:16:27 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 5:

I'll do you one better. I'll do you one better. Saquon, two touchdowns. I don't know what the odds are in Detroit right now, but they're pretty good. They got me feeling nicey. Saquon, over 200 yards. Wow.

00:16:39 - 00:16:41 | Speaker 7:

Wow. Hold on. Hold on.

00:16:41 - 00:16:52 | Speaker 4:

Don't you like to go for the first touchdown? Like you go down the odds and you find some guy who's had like one touchdown pass in the last like 12 years. And it's like, it's like 5,000 on it.

00:16:52 - 00:17:10 | Speaker 5:

You could win a million. I did that. Well, I did that one year with Jared Goff to get a touchdown because you can't, well, this year, you can't bet on, like, when he throws a touchdown that doesn't count, he has to catch the touchdown and score. I did that the game before Amon Ross threw him the touchdown. So, you know, what are you going to do?

00:17:11 - 00:17:14 | Speaker 7:

All right. I'm going to talk. I got to pick somebody else up here. I'll talk to you guys later.

00:17:14 - 00:17:18 | Speaker 5:

No, keep me on. Keep me on. I want to be a record. Let's bet. Let's bet on me hanging.

00:17:18 - 00:17:28 | Speaker 7:

Here, I bet on me hanging you up. Hang on. Amanda, Amanda, listen to this, Shannon. Amanda, you heard Shannon doing commercials for FanDuel.

00:17:28 - 00:17:29 | Speaker 2:

Uh-huh.

00:17:29 - 00:17:30 | Speaker 7:

Right? Yes.

00:17:30 - 00:17:31 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:17:31 - 00:17:33 | Speaker 7:

And did you win big or lose?

00:17:35 - 00:18:24 | Speaker 2:

So it was over probably like seven months. I would, because they have those daily games where you could like win money. Yes. So I haven't like deposited a whole lot or anything. I like to win like the money and then use it to gamble playing the flats. And I won in the last year over $15,000. Oh, my God. are you talking about like the reward machine reels and stuff like the free the free play they would give you oh my god you can win like real money to play on the spot yes yes to gamble with and you can win a lot of money on it that is insane money after you hit after you hit a certain amount like say you hit a hundred dollars you deposit 15 so that you're not like regretting it ever and then you can continue to play like that that's great i like that i like that yeah

00:18:24 - 00:18:52 | Speaker 3:
