Mojo in the morning show. So she's going to fight me on this one, but I'm going to tell you that you guys get to be the judge on this. So yesterday morning on our show, if you were listening, you heard us talk about how our producer, KP, has a little thing for Jed, who is from The Joe Show, Joe, Jed, and Ashley. And it got to a point where KP came down to Tampa to do some work for the company, and she was sending him text messages, wanting to hang out. They did hang out a little bit, but it sounded like she wanted to hang out more. Remember yesterday on the show, we brought it up in conversation. And by the way, you can listen to that podcast up on the Mojo in the Morning podcast because every listener sided with KP. Jed's crazy. Why the heck wouldn't he want to be, you know, spending more time and maybe possibly getting some from KP? He missed a great opportunity.

00:02:41 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 2:

He's just, I don't know, he's getting in his own head or something. He's just not reading the signs and handling it right at all.

00:02:46 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 5:

It's making her like him more, Spike, because tell me if you think this doesn't sound a little desperate. KP was supposed to be on a flight yesterday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon to go back to Detroit. She moved her flight to 6.30 so that she could stay a little longer with Jed.

00:03:08 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 4:

So this is what happened.

00:03:10 - 00:03:13 | Speaker 5:

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let everybody just let that simmer for one second.

00:03:13 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 4:

Everyone want a comment? No comments?

00:03:15 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 5:

No, go ahead. What happened?

00:03:17 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 4:

So Tony really wanted to go to lunch, and I was really hungry wanting to eat before my flight. And you were talking to everyone at the radio station, so by the time we were to get to lunch, I would have missed my flight. So I booked the later flight. Plus, I didn't get to see you or Tony at all or have conversations with you guys while you were there because you came in the day I was leaving. So I was feeling FOMO and wanted to stay a couple more hours before I had to come back to Detroit.

00:03:42 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 5:

Guys, do Tony and I not spend any time with KP when we're in Detroit?

00:03:47 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 4:

Not when we're all together. Not talking about work.

00:03:49 - 00:03:58 | Speaker 2:

I do get that you want to get this quality one-on-one time. Just them. Not everybody in the office with all the distractions. It's your chance to actually get the bosses here.

00:03:58 - 00:04:00 | Speaker 4:

Was Jed even a part of this lunch? Yes. Yes, he came.

00:04:01 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 5:

Jed and her then hung out with each other.

00:04:03 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, and get this. Mojo booked us tickets for a baseball game, not even sitting with him and Tony. Like, I could tell that Jed was, like, kind of, like, having FOMO and not sitting with you guys at a baseball game.

00:04:14 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 5:

I had tickets. I got tickets from my buddies from the Tigers. I got four tickets. I didn't have a fifth ticket. What do you want me to do? Do you want me to ask them to find us now five seats at the last minute? I ended up getting two extra tickets for you guys.

00:04:33 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

Well, I appreciate you. Okay, I'm in the room.

00:04:37 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 5:

I'm sorry. And do they not have food at the airport that you could eat? They actually have a Chick-fil-A at the Tampa airport here. It's actually really good.

00:04:43 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 4:

I wanted to see you guys. You guys are going to lunch, and that's typically what we do.

00:04:46 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

All right, around the room. Let's see this. How many people on the show, we'll start with you, Spike, think that moving your plane ticket like this was basically to try to spend a little bit more time with Jed?

00:04:59 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 2:

No. I disagree. I think she, knowing KP, I think she wanted to hang with you and Tony and get your ear.

00:05:08 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

She didn't hang with me and Tony, though.

00:05:10 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 2:

Well, no, but at the lunch, she wanted to go with you guys to the lunch, right?

00:05:13 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 4:

Okay. Shannon, your thoughts?

00:05:15 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 1:

I think she did want to spend more time with Jed because she didn't get, like, that was part of, like, her going down there. She wanted to spend time with Jed, and he didn't spend time with her when she actually had time. So I think that that was part of her reason to move it. Mike, what are your thoughts?

00:05:31 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 5:

Well, see, I wasn't leaning towards her wanting to hang out with Jed because she did generally sound like she wanted to have lunch with you guys. But then the very last thing she said is, we always have lunch together. We always all sit down together, which you do. You're right. You always do sit down together. So doing it in Florida isn't any different than doing it in Detroit. So now I'm on the side of maybe, you know, maybe it's just closure with Jed, but I think she did want to see Jed. Megan, what are your thoughts on this one?

00:05:58 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 6:

I'm torn. I'm very torn. I think that Jed, and tell me if I'm wrong, KP. I feel like he's the kind of person that maybe leads you on in a way or maybe makes you feel a certain way and then kind of gets hot and cold. So I could totally understand if you were there for a while and then he was a little bit warm near the end. And then you're like, oh, that's the Jed I want to hang out with. Staying longer for that. But not because it's like, I don't know. I love Jed. I love him.

00:06:29 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 7:

but he can be hot and cold sometimes what do you think kp um i mean i i feel like this whole trip was very like eye-opening to me about about the situation um i i am very much a quality time person i do not miss a moment to hang out with people and friends and like during jingle ball like that was the first time i had met jed and he asked me to go out to the casino and like i was driving home from jingle ball gonna go to bed and he convinced me to go out that night and i was like i okay i will come out i will make friends i will meet ej and ashley and we'll have a good time and i expected that same thing when i came down to tampa and that just didn't happen yeah and so i felt kind of i don't know i just felt like dang i feel like i'm always open to like

00:07:12 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 5:

hang out with people and then wait wait wait wasn't this the girl who said you guys are too old to hang out with so we're not gonna go out afterwards with you ashley's not old no no no You know, I'm talking to you every minute. That's apples and oranges.

00:07:25 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 2:

She was still hanging out, just not with us old people.

00:07:28 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 4:

But no, no, let's go back to the extending the plane ticket thing. I thought it was just to hang out with the two old people and to have lunch. I didn't realize that it was the Jed thing. I, by the way, took this very differently. The whole idea of you going down to Tampa was to learn from Brian Donovan, who works down here, who's one of our best in our business. And I didn't realize that this was going to be a Jed fest, that it was going to be the hangout with Jed. And I didn't realize that you two guys, you know, were as close as you were. But I will say this. Jed's a genius. And I'm going to say why he's a genius. A, he's not good looking enough to get somebody like KP. There is no way that that guy's that good looking. All right? He's Jed. Look at him. Go check him out on his bio page. on the Joe Show's site. Secondly, he's a, or not secondly, on my first thought, he's a genius because the more he plays hard to get, the more she loves this guy. It's unbelievable.

00:08:35 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 7:

If you want to hear the side conversations that are happening in the studio, you would completely disagree.

00:08:39 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 3:

I think she reached her peak. I think you're not a genius if you never close, and you've got a girl who's down bad, and you just keep rejecting to the point where now she's fed up with him.

00:08:48 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 4:

So I talked to him a little bit about it this morning before we went on the air. Do you want to know what his side is? Everybody ready for this one? Or should I let him say his side? No, you know what? They're on the air right now for another hour. All right. No, that would have been great, wouldn't it? That would have been great radio, but I can't get them to pull off of their show. Okay, you know what? No, you want to hear his side? Honestly, what he said to me?

00:09:12 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 7:

Well, you're framing it like Jed is some, like, macho guy. No. If I were to literally show you what he's been talking to me, like, for the last four months, and I'm not going to do that because I'm going to respect his privacy. But, like, it just doesn't seem right. You had a different idea going into this a couple of days. Yeah, I had a different idea, and I was going down there for work. We hadn't talked about any plans moving about this trip in general.

00:09:34 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 4:

He realized, he said, when you came down here, that he needed to keep things very professional and friendship-wise with the two of you guys. He really likes you, thinks that you're awesome, but he feels that if he were to have done anything, even just a kiss or, you know, whatever, he feels like it would change the relationship, and he really, really likes you a lot and does not want it to. become a situation that and he said that uh your guys's circumstances of you being in detroit he being in florida would be too hard for uh for a relationship why do you what do you think no i

00:10:13 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 7:

agree and that's my stance too but that doesn't mean you need to lead somebody on and still not tell him to communicate that's what you want how did he didn't he didn't tell me that yeah like that's something that i had mentioned when i canceled my trip to go see him in january we had that conversation but that conversation on his end continued for the next couple months and so that's why i was like okay well uh my co-workers are telling me that they think that this is a good idea and that i should trust that and that he's a good guy so i'll go through with

00:10:42 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 4:

it yeah yeah i do think he's a good guy i don't think that what he's done uh is you know he's done it maliciously i think in a lot of cases i think he's torn i mean i mean hasn't any haven't Any of you guys been in a situation like this?

00:10:58 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, but if he's been leading her on and having a certain conversation for the last two months and then all of a sudden she gets down there and he goes cold, that's not cool.

00:11:05 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 2:

I wish he would have said to KP's face when they were together what he said to you this morning, Mojo. You know what I mean?

00:11:15 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 4:

What did he say to you when he dropped you off at the airport?

00:11:19 - 00:11:46 | Speaker 7:

Nothing. I actually left my wallet in his car and he had to turn around and come back, so sorry, Jen. But that was it. No, I just thanked him for, you know, being a good like host because he like we I mean, we're really good friends. Yes. Yeah. And he didn't have to pick me up in the airport. He didn't have to drop me off. We went out several times while we were there. So it's like like for dinner and stuff and worked together the whole weekend. So like, you know, that that was it was fine.

00:11:46 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 4:

Were you hurt by what happened? Yeah, a little.

00:11:51 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 1:

Were you? Mojo, did he tell you he said something when he dropped her off at the airport?

00:11:55 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 4:

No. I was just asking. That was my investigative question. I was going to do it in the voice of Dateline NBC's, you know, what did he say to you when he brought you to the airport?

00:12:07 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 3:

To be fair, do you think because KP is such a beautiful lady and Jed talks about being a high-value man all the time that he maybe saw this as an opportunity to be like, look what I can get without having a real interest?

00:12:22 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I don't know about that. Jed's not. No.

00:12:24 - 00:12:25 | Speaker 3:

No? Okay.

00:12:26 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 4:

Because who's he looking at? Who's he doing it with? Honestly, I think he was trying to be more professional because of Tony and I being here. So our boss, Tony, and myself. I think that he was, you know, I think that we ruined your game. I think we blew it for you. Well, I think he's got the right intentions, but I think it wasn't communicated correctly.

00:12:43 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 7:

I don't think it's very professional to have your bosses read your text message between a girl that you're talking to.

00:12:48 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 4:

He didn't read the text message. I read the text message by looking at his screen. So he didn't show it to me. I could see his screen sitting there, this phone sitting there. I was being eavesdroppy. Okay. And all I read was just a couple of things. It was just a little line that you wrote. What's up, Tamara?

00:13:09 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 5:

Yes. So I texted in right when this conversation started, and then, of course, a lot more information came out. But I had originally texted in saying that I agree with Jed on this one. And this is just going back to earlier around right after Christmas when he was wanting her to come down. And she's like, no, I probably shouldn't because I really like these people and I don't want to ruin this. Let's be professional. And so I can just see why he might be a little standoffish perhaps because he doesn't want to get his feelings hurt either. Like it's one thing when you're half a country away, but when you're right there in front of them.

00:13:49 - 00:13:53 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I could see that. Marie, what's up?

00:13:54 - 00:14:11 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I agree with Shannon. Judd should have communicated that with KP, not with you. Like, communication is the best thing you can do. And for him to not communicate that with her was pretty crappy.

00:14:12 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 2:

Well, especially if, I mean, if that is truly the way he feels, it just would have made all of this a lot more clear and not so, like i feel like it it turned into such like a gray area you know what i mean you should have

00:14:24 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 6:

just told kp that like before she left or even if he wasn't comfortable with that even through text

00:14:30 - 00:14:53 | Speaker 2:

or something right i mean kp's a big girl she would have understood that but instead of having hurt feelings she would have said like okay i'm speaking for you kp but we talked about this like she would have said okay i i completely understand that but she would know she would have the information you know as as to why he was acting the way that he was and didn't want to hang out you know any more than they were at work or whatever yeah because i would have taken it

00:14:53 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 6:

personally too and been really hurt if i was in ap's position which it sounds like she was hurt but

00:15:00 - 00:15:04 | Speaker 4:

Kiki, you're great, and it'll be all will be okay.

00:15:04 - 00:15:06 | Speaker 3:

And Jed's an a-hole, right?

00:15:06 - 00:15:13 | Speaker 4:

No, no, but I will say this. No, I didn't say that. I like Jed. See, I do too, but this is F-boy behavior, 100%. How is it?

00:15:13 - 00:15:20 | Speaker 3:

Isn't F-boy behavior doing something and then never calling her ever again? But he almost, I mean, basically almost did.

00:15:20 - 00:15:21 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah.

00:15:21 - 00:15:22 | Speaker 3:

That's basically what he did.

00:15:22 - 00:15:31 | Speaker 4:

What did he do, though? He let her on, let her on, let her on, and then had he gone through with it and then done with this, Again, that would be full-on F-boy behavior. Honestly, I don't think that's an F-boy.

00:15:31 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 3:

I think that is a guy that's probably nervous because F-boys aren't nervous. F-boys don't care.

00:15:38 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 4:

It could be, but it's borderline. It's definitely borderline.

00:15:41 - 00:16:02 | Speaker 3:

Because I've been where Jed is, where I've been the nervous guy that I know that I don't think this is a good idea or whatever, and then you pull back and you don't do it. I've actually had a girl that thought I was gay because of that and thought that I didn't make a move because of that. And honestly, I didn't make a move because actually she was a friend of our family's daughter. And I thought that my dad would kill me if I did something.

00:16:02 - 00:16:09 | Speaker 4:

It sounded like he decided this a long time ago, decided that it was a bad idea, but then kept saying things to make her think that this was still a good idea.

00:16:09 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:16:10 - 00:16:13 | Speaker 4:

That to me is where it's communicated wrong.

00:16:13 - 00:16:25 | Speaker 3:

I like the text message that just came in. It says, I love Mojo, but he's showing favoritism towards his fourth son. And then they said If this was a second date update Everyone would say this is spitty

00:16:25 - 00:16:25 | Speaker 1:

Yeah

00:16:25 - 00:16:28 | Speaker 3:

Ricky what's up it's Mojo in the morning Hi

00:16:28 - 00:16:31 | Speaker 2:

What's up Mojo how's it going family

00:16:31 - 00:16:32 | Speaker 3:

What's going on

00:16:32 - 00:16:37 | Speaker 2:

Well I'm calling to defend JP She's a nice young lady

00:16:37 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 4:

Yeah

00:16:38 - 00:17:11 | Speaker 2:

And you know For him to lead her on He knows she Lives in Michigan She goes down there to the studio or whatever and then the way he treated her. I'm not saying he a bad guy, but the way he told you, he should have told her in front of, you know. Let's keep it real. Let's keep it real because she has feelings too. And, you know, I just think when she got down there face-to-face again, he just couldn't do it. So, you know, it'll get better. She'll be okay. She'll be a nice young lady.

00:17:12 - 00:18:22 | Speaker 3:

But can I be honest with you? I think Jed had the best intentions in mind, and I think if he had the worst intentions in mind, he would have gone and done the everything that potentially could have happened type thing. And I think that what he did was, I think that he had the best intentions of making sure that Kate, did he not, you know, spend time with her at the game yesterday? Did he not drive her to the airport, pick her up from the airport and take her back and forth to the station? I thought Jed did a great job and I'm not going to let Jed be looked bad at here on the radio. And I don't think KP had bad intentions at all. I think KP, I think that the unfortunate part of this whole thing is that they both work together. I think if they didn't work together the way that they do, I think that, you know, they would have had who knows or they would have they would have had fun with each other, you know. And I think now let's find KP somebody that's better looking than Jed, because I'll be honest with you. I think, KP, you're you're way better looking than that guy is. I'm just kidding. Don't say that. I actually think, you know what's funny about Jed that I realized? That Jed, I like Jed better than I like my sons.

00:18:22 - 00:18:24 | Speaker 1:

Okay, stop. So I just want you to know this.

00:18:25 - 00:18:42 | Speaker 3:

No, but I will say this about him, is that I don't want him to be disparaged on the radio because he's not here to defend himself. And I do think that he's a good resource for UKP as a friend and a co-worker. And has he not helped you through the process of being our producer?

00:18:42 - 00:19:06 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. Yeah. So we talk weekly and I just want to be clear here. My first thought about Jed and this entire situation was no. The reason why I opened up my heart to the possibility of this is because people that I trust were telling me that it was, you know, a good it could be a good thing. You should open yourself up to it. And I did. And then this ended up happening. Yeah.

00:19:07 - 00:19:11 | Speaker 3:

Would it have been worse, though, if something would have happened and then he never called you ever again?

00:19:11 - 00:19:24 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. So, like, I'm glad that, like... But that doesn't discount, like, you... He just should have said what he thought when he started feeling it. I wish he would have... We all agree Jed is a great guy. He just should have said what he thought, what he told you, Mojo, when he started to feel it.

00:19:24 - 00:19:30 | Speaker 3:

Did he ever make it seem, before he came down here, that he was going to, like, romanticize you?

00:19:31 - 00:20:01 | Speaker 5:

I mean, I don't want to speak for Jed again, but he did have conversations with me about, you know, just you know being more than friends and like that is I don't know I don't take that lightly and I'm not going to respond to someone in a way that that could tell them like that I'm interested in a relationship if I don't feel the same way so yeah that is that is a conversation we'd had I mean I

00:20:00 - 00:20:28 | Speaker 1:

I think we both had like a mutual silent understanding that it was probably not going to happen for a while. I just didn't think that he would act the way he did when I went to visit because like, I don't know, like I, I went down there for work and it's just like the conversation had already started about relationship things and like, he's my point person. So it does make it kind of awkward where I'm, I'm with him and learning, but at the same time, like, you know, we're having sad conversations.
