mojo on the morning show get ready to win some cash coming up here in just a little bit get an opportunity to get some money to pay your bills is kev asking too many questions and is that the reason why kev is not getting what he wants and i don't know you don't seem like the type person that asked too many questions but explain what's going on well i think when you're looking

00:02:30 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 5:

to live in a new place you have to ask as many questions as you feel comfortable with because if you lay your head down and the things start falling apart or whatever the case is you'll be saying why didn't i ask questions what are you talking about the situation is obviously we're moving downtown as a radio station and i live closer to where this station is which is going to be a very uncomfortable and difficult experience having to travel so far and show up to work on time that's something i'm very concerned about so i want to move closer to the station so i'm looking at places that are closer to the station saw a place really liked it damn near fell in love tell the lady okay what's going on what's our what's our next step she like she all excited okay well yeah here you go here's the paper with all the information here's the website fill out all the stuff send in your paperwork put the money down and then there you go that night literally within a 24-hour period i go to the website fill out the application upload the proof of income upload everything that you needed to upload i send an email because i do some online research i want to see what other people say and there are some consistent flaws in the living situation so i want to give her the benefit of the doubt so i send her about seven or eight questions just as a follow-up two days go by i didn't hear from her i do get an email though from a different address that says thank you for your application reach out to this person for next steps i reach out to that person for next steps within the hour the original person i was communicating with sends me an email says oh somebody else put their money down the place is no longer there but i may have another one coming up this was two weeks ago i've sent four emails i called friday and left a voicemail none of my emails have been returned and the voicemail and my phone call haven't been

00:04:30 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 6:

returned either what kind of what so do you think your questions are the reason why it's not having

00:04:34 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 5:

i can't find another reason why what are your questions maybe i can pull it up but yeah but i

00:04:39 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 9:

feel like that's like a huge decision moving is a big deal you're allowed to ask questions thank you and it's a lot of money i don't think it was your questions that did it because as somebody who has hopped on from apartments a lot in the past five years. This is very normal. It's infuriating and normal. Like the lack of follow-up? Yes. Well, not only the lack of follow-up, I think.

00:05:00 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 3:

But also this other person, whomever, probably was like, yep, I'm ready right now. And instead of them doing the right thing and saying, actually, somebody else is interested in this apartment, let us check with them first if they want it or not. They're just so money hungry. They just want the money.

00:05:13 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 4:

When I moved into my current apartment, when I toured it, the person who toured it with me said, I'm showing this tomorrow if you don't decide now. And they say they want it at the end of their tour tomorrow. It's theirs. It is first come first serve On apartments So if somebody comes in and says I'll put the money down right now

00:05:32 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 2:

They win Look and that's not my problem

00:05:35 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 4:

No I know There's so many problems with apartment hunting When I lived in Toledo I lived at the Commodore Perry And that is I'll say this Not my first choice of building down there But I could not get the other buildings To return my calls I was infuriated

00:05:55 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

do you think uh um you kevin uh they saw that you worked on the radio and stuff and they go maybe the other guy was a doctor or something or what does that have to do with it if i can afford the place i can afford the place i don't know if i want you in my place though look if they accept you then they should you know i know but you think that they do they do are do we have any leasing agents do you pro you know are you thinking it's a class action lawsuit i'm just

00:06:23 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 2:

That's what I hear.

00:06:24 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

If I had a choice, I'd rather have Dr. So-and-so than this is the mojo in the morning show. Maybe that's why we ain't cut the ribbon. I don't know. Maybe. No, I'm just saying. No offense to you. It's offense to all of us. But if I had a choice of a radio guy or something else, maybe that's the thing. Do they prioritize these people over people? It's supposed to be equal opportunity, right? Just like employment. And that's what life is like, right? You think that actually happens? Look who you're talking to. Wow. Lizzie, right? I'm telling you That makes me wonder Sometimes I think maybe you have to lie About your employment

00:06:56 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 4:

You can't do that No I've thought about it before I've had quite a few people Who tour places with me Be like And I know what you do For a living So if you're thinking about Throwing parties Or quiet hours are And my brother toured With me once And he was like You think she doesn't Go to bed before 8pm

00:07:10 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 1:

Right You're a perfect tenant

00:07:12 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

I truly Apart from the hours That I leave my apartment I am because Yeah I'm not throwing parties Bitch I'm tired I'm tired i get up at three o'clock in the morning i am tired let me ask you this though is this a sign

00:07:27 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 2:

that this isn't the place for you and you should look for alternatives or if more so to the point megan made about this is just the landscape right now maybe people are busy whatever they be i go inside physically and ask what's going on i think yeah you gotta do that i think you have to

00:07:45 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

First off, I think first thing, you, when you meet people, they love you. They fall in love with you.

00:07:51 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 2:

I thought I had a good relationship with the girl.

00:07:53 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 1:

You're on email with her.

00:07:55 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 2:

I'm talking about in person. I've seen her twice.

00:07:58 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 1:

Well, I think, where is this place? Let's go. Let's go down there.

00:08:01 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 4:

We're going to be down there today anyway. That's why I'm asking. Should I just run in? I would, but have you been to the office?

00:08:07 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, twice.

00:08:07 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 4:

Okay, some offices, though. This is the other fun part. Some offices are super easy to get to and talk to a person. other offices are you need a contact person for them to either come and get you or buzz you up and if not you cannot get into the i can walk straight to this one that's nice but is it weird

00:08:23 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 2:

if i just say and then how do you approach that hey i've sent you four emails like how do you

00:08:27 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 1:

i know people i know you see my call i know people that when the housing market which is still crazy there's still not a lot of you know homes for sale that wanted a house so bad i know people that have brought over dinner and baked goods and things like that saying to the people, I want to buy this house from you.

00:08:50 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

Since we're going to be right there today after the show, it would be worth it to go in and say, my emails and my phone calls have gone unanswered, so now this is me. Yeah, this is my last

00:09:00 - 00:09:10 | Speaker 1:

resort. This doesn't happen if you go to FHSliving.com FHSliving.com They got two in Corktown. They got two in Corktown.

00:09:10 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 4:

I will also say I think a big part of it is who the current, like, building manager is. Because the company I could not get to call me back in Toledo is the current company I'm living with in Detroit. And they have a different management person in charge now. And it is a world of a difference in communication.

00:09:28 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 1:

Do we have any landlords listening right now or give Cav? Man, please, for real, bro. I'm trying to.

00:09:38 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 2:

We lived out. When did we move? You said the 20th, right?

00:09:40 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 1:

We're moving on the 20th.

00:09:42 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:09:43 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

Are you trying to move before that? Well, we're moving on.

00:09:45 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 2:

If it's the right situation, for sure.

00:09:49 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 1:

By the way, you're making me feel bad about the fact that I just can't sell my house and go move downtown. This drive's going to suck.

00:09:56 - 00:10:02 | Speaker 2:

I don't know, guys. Let's split an apartment. And I'll live there

00:10:02 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 3:

Can you get Chelsea Can you get Chelsea to agree that Y'all can stay where y'all live We'll just say I live here Yeah Chelsea I'm going to be living with Kev During the week

00:10:12 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 2:

I don't think that's going to happen Actually film that discussion

00:10:16 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 3:

Do you think anybody would even give both of us a place

00:10:20 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 2:

Yeah hi Of course they will FHS living right This is my

00:10:25 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 3:

I would like you to meet Miley I love her This is my husband Kevin We're in a mixed race relationship right now

00:10:33 - 00:10:40 | Speaker 5:

That's you, Chuck and Larry You say, Mike, get a discount? Mike, get a discount

00:10:40 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 3:

Text, by the way, text her here saying that this has happened numerous times Just like Megan says to them Trying to get a place that the people don't call you back

00:10:52 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

I thought they wanted people to move in

00:10:54 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 1:

That's the name of the game No, no, no, they already got them I can't get anybody to call me back I wanted to buy a place downtown, could not get them to call me back. And it gets to the point where, unfortunately, there is a huge perk to this job. I had to start using my work emails for stuff, and that was the only time I would get responses. But then I go, do I really want to live somewhere where they're only paying attention to me because of X? Because what happens when there's an actual issue?

00:11:18 - 00:11:31 | Speaker 3:

844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Text 95500. Another one here, 313. Kevin, this is a sign from God. It was not written for you. This place wasn't meant for you and your family.

00:11:31 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 2:

I've thought of that.

00:11:33 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 3:

I mean, that's, yeah.

00:11:34 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 2:

I've thought of that. Right? I have.

00:11:36 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 3:

But then there's a piece of me where it's like. But what if God wants to really screw with your life?

00:11:41 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 2:

You know? I mean, yes. The thought that this isn't meant to be has crossed my mind. And there's only so much that I can do. And if I'm doing everything that I can do and I'm still being met with resistance, then take your hands off of it. But then there's also like, okay, am I doing enough? It's just calling and texting enough. Maybe I do need to physically go down there, you know, and see. So I'm going to do that today. And if I don't get it, then, yeah, we leave.

00:12:06 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 3:

We're going to go. We're going to knock on that door. We're going to say, we're not leaving until you give this man an apartment.

00:12:12 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 1:

How frustrating is it when everything is do it online, put the application in online, sign this online, and then when I need help, you don't respond to me online. I have to go in person and take time out of my life.

00:12:23 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 3:

Right. Mojo in the morning, hello.

00:12:25 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 6:

hello um did you guys just call about winning winning did i what's that did i just call about an apartment yes hi what'd you say oh hi no this is um mercy i thought that you were calling about

00:12:37 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 3:

a thousand dollars oh i i i have that literally in seconds i have in seconds quick question where do you live um birmingham oh fancy even people in birmingham need money even in a thousand Oh, listen, here's the deal. We're going to try to find somebody that lives. Is there anybody that lives downtown that will let Kevin sleep in their guest room or something? We're going to find you a place. We're going to find. Can you imagine? Kevin, Josiah, and Mojo are all coming to stay here. That's what I need, too, by the way. I was thinking about that. I don't want to move downtown when we move. I just need somebody with a nice, comfortable couch on the snow days. Nah, bro.

00:13:20 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 2:

What's wrong with the couch

00:13:23 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 3:

I sleep on the couch all the time Just ask Chelsea I love it

00:13:28 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 2:

Short term yeah long term Nah I've been there before

00:13:33 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 3:

We're going to get you this apartment The place that you want is it close to Eastern Market Or is it just downtown

00:13:39 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 2:

It's about six or eight minutes away

00:13:42 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 3:

What if Dan Gilbert calls up And says he wants you to be the first tenant Of his brand new Hudson's building

00:13:48 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 2:

Come on Dan I want personalized entry though That's my thing I don't want to have to do all of that

00:13:55 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 3:

Right now you should just want a place That's got a roof over the head I'm a firm believer in speaking what you want

00:14:01 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 2:

Speak into that Hudson's building

00:14:04 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 3:

Speak what you want right now You want personal entry

00:14:07 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 2:

I want personal entry I don't want to go over $2,000 a month Two bedroom For sure Multi-level It would be perfect if I could drive in to the garage. I'm just saying what I got now, for real. You know what I'm saying? I'm not trying.

00:14:25 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 3:

By the way, if we're all saying this, I would like free pizza every day. Papas, you listening?

00:14:35 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 5:
