All right, it is Mojo in the morning. I witnessed something yesterday that actually was kind of sad, but I felt bad because I had somewhere to go. Otherwise, I probably would have stopped. And if I had enough room, I probably would have Ubered these guys there. But the kids from the high school that's by my house had prom yesterday.

00:02:09 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:02:09 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 7:

So there was a bunch of kids in my neighborhood. And then, of course, like all of them. Yeah, I think so. I think it must have been West Bloomfield High School that had a prom. And I witnessed kids on the side of the road Off of Orchard Lake Road And their limo had its hood up The limo bus that they had They had one of those cool party bus type things Like those sprinter vans And the hood was up And the poor driver was out there Trying to get the thing working And all the kids in their dresses And their tuxes and stuff Are on the side of the road And I felt so bad for these kids but it got me thinking i never got to prom who listening to the show never got to prom and what was the craziest reason why you were never going to prom like what happened um and i'm not talking about you didn't actually go to prom because you didn't have a date i'm talking about you were supposed to go to prom but you never went to prom what did you do instead or why did you not get to prom because i remember doing this topic maybe a decade ago or less than a decade ago and we did the topic and a similar situation happened with the limo. And it turned into a story because of our show. It was on like channel 7 that night. The kids didn't get to prom because the party bus or the limo got pulled over and the limo driver got a DUI.

00:03:32 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 5:

What?

00:03:33 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 7:

Got arrested and the parents had to come and pick the kids up. And we had the kids call us up the next day and then it was all over the news about that happening. That is crazy. So 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844- 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. I never got to prom.

00:03:51 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 1:

We never took a limo to prom. That's crazy.

00:03:53 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:03:54 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 1:

That was just not a thing. Like, everybody drove or they borrowed, like, their dad's, you know, nicer car, and that's what you drove in. No, no, not a lot of people did.

00:04:05 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 7:

Luke's prom that he had a couple of weeks ago, they had a bus, like a party bus or something like that, that they went to. And then Luke yesterday just got asked again by his date to go to her prom because Luke's date goes to one of the public schools. So her prom is this Friday, and I don't know how they're going, but I always remember limos were like a big deal. And actually the top-notch people, our friends over at top-notch limousines. That limo would not be on the side of the road. No, they got great ones. But they were saying that it's not necessarily – they don't have the limo limos like that anymore. It's all the party bus stuff. Yeah, that's kind of the big deal.

00:04:41 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

Didn't you have a prom that you went to yesterday for like a relative? I did. My younger cousin, Anaya, who goes to North Farmington, she looked beautiful, by the way. But I feel like prom has changed completely from when I went to prom. Like when I went to prom, you know, you got the girl, the corsage? Corsage, yeah. Corsage.

00:05:00 - 00:05:31 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was a croissant, like so croissant. I would have rather had a croissant. By the way, you bite into one of those and it's flakes for days. I don't know what it is. It's so good. But yeah, so you get the girl the croissants, you put it on her arm, you show up at her parents' house, everyone's there. Like I went to the prom send-off for a night yesterday, and I only saw one guy. I saw like nine girls, and it was like a girls' prom out. It was beautiful, though. The entire family showed up. It was like a huge barbecue, but is this the new thing?

00:05:31 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

I think that they like to go in groups more than ever, and especially if it was a senior prom or a junior prom. Okay, because usually like the freshman, sophomore, junior proms, a lot of times they'll go in groups. Senior proms, sometimes they'll get dates, but it's not as big anymore to get a date.

00:05:45 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 2:

When did that change? Well, for me, it was always you have a date, but you still go with a group. Yes. Yep, same.

00:05:51 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 4:

I think that I remember Jacob's. Jacob's, so my son Jake's like 25 years old. I remember his was a big group of kids. So, and it was the big group of kids that decided that they were all going to go together.

00:06:06 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. See, I think it was everybody showed up with their date. Everybody had their own cars. It was kind of like that thing. Yeah.

00:06:13 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 4:

These stories, by the way, are stellar. Look at some of these ones so far. 844 Mojo Live, 844-665-6548. Reminisce a little bit. Why did you not make it to prom? Alicia, why did you not make it to prom?

00:06:27 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 6:

So I was going to go with my boyfriend's sister, and because he didn't go to the same school and stuff, he just, like, would not let me. Like, he threw the biggest fit and made a huge deal of it, and even though I was going with his sister, it was still just the end of the world. But now I don't hang out with people like that.

00:06:44 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, two different schools, two different problems, and you don't want that to happen because they don't want you to, you know, they think you're going to fool around or something like that in high school. Christy, what's happening?

00:06:55 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 8:

Hi.

00:06:56 - 00:06:57 | Speaker 4:

Why'd you miss prom?

00:06:58 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 8:

Our prom was on a Friday night, and I started having contractions and went into labor and actually had him two days later.

00:07:06 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 4:

Oh, wow. Oh, wow. So you were pregnant in high school, your senior year of high school.

00:07:11 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 8:

I found out Labor Day weekend I was pregnant.

00:07:14 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Oh, wow. Question for you.

00:07:17 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 8:

I missed all of our football games. I missed all the fun stuff.

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 4:

Were you able to go to graduation?

00:07:23 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 8:

I was. And funny story is our graduation was like three weeks later. I ended up having my gallbladder out on Wednesday. Oh, man. We were graduating Friday, and I checked out. I had to have emergency surgery for it. But I checked myself out early so that I could still walk because I worked my ass off to graduate with a 3.6 GPA. I was not going to miss it.

00:07:44 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

How old is your baby now? How old is your child now?

00:07:47 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 8:

On May 8th, he turned 26. Oh, my gosh. And by the way, you sound so young.

00:07:53 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 6:

I did not expect you to see that. I thought you were going to say five.

00:07:55 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:07:55 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 4:

Well, she is young. She had the baby when she was in high school. Yeah. What's up, Jordan? How you doing?

00:08:01 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 5:

Hey, how's it going? Good.

00:08:03 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 4:

Why did you not make it to prom?

00:08:06 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 5:

I pre-gamed a little too hard before prom and physically could not get out of the car and walk in.

00:08:14 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

Oh, no. Oh, my God.

00:08:16 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 5:

How mad were your parents? My sister took care. My mom actually was super good My sister took care of me the night of And I didn't tell her until the next morning

00:08:25 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 4:

Oh wow Listen to this one Miranda, we were talking about the limo That broke down on the side of the road That I saw yesterday going to prom You never made it to prom And why was that?

00:08:36 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 7:

We had our prom at Burton Manor And our limo driver took us to a prom At Laurel Manor

00:08:42 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 5:

You are kidding So did you crash that prom Or did you make them turn around?

00:08:48 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 7:

Well, we got out. We didn't recognize anybody. And then we went back and said, hey, you can't go anywhere. This isn't our prom. And he did take us to our prom. But we were very late.

00:08:59 - 00:09:03 | Speaker 4:

Took you to the wrong place. Oh, my God. Thank you for the call. Appreciate it.

00:09:04 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 7:

00:09:05 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 3:
