all right it's mojo in the morning home of the phone scams the war of the roses the dirty on the 30 megan had the dinner from hell uh what happened megan what was going on

you wouldn't realize how difficult it is to get dinner in downtown toledo on a friday night oh my goodness there were 10 of us and you would have thought we had a party of 860 with the way people were reacting to us trying to get a table now it all started earlier in the day I'd called some restaurants I had asked hey do you take reservations everybody said no everybody so my dad and I made a plan we locked eyes we said all right we're leaving early we're going out if we're gonna table for everybody they'll meet us out nope that was not the plan whatsoever the first restaurant we went to said we can accommodate you but it's going to take over an hour so I said all right, let's leave some people here. Let's start walking around. Let's find a different place to go to. And this will kind of be our last resort, right? So we start going around and going to different places and setting things up and nothing's really working. Nobody can really accommodate us. I find another restaurant. They push all the tables together. I get a phone call from the original restaurant saying, we're going to seat you right now. I look at the server at the restaurant I'm standing in. I say, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry you just wasted all your time doing that. There was a miscommunication. I have to go somewhere else. Go back to the original restaurant now remember how i told you they said it was going to take us an hour took us like half hour right then we get to the table they refuse to put the table together we have to sit in three different groups across the restaurant and we cannot push the table together and i did not know this so i just walk up to the table and i start pushing it together and then i get yelled at by management and we got kicked out of this restaurant oh my god i swear we had gone to six different restaurants at this point we finally get there i start pushing the table again this is a place i've been to easily a hundred times yeah they start this is a fire hazard no it's not i've done this before this is we don't allow this in the restaurant that's not true i've done this before just going off on me and then they say get out as we're getting out this place is packed everybody's staring at us we've been yelled at by management whatever all of the servers who i know are talking smack about us as we're leaving i'm so angry at this point that we walk with our tails between our legs back to the restaurant where the guy had set up the table for me who i said no and then he had to set up the entire thing again it was the most embarrassing

She will. I have a question at the risk of receiving the Megan rap myself. If you know all the servers and the staff there, why didn't you just ask them to put the tables together?

Because I desperately locked eyes with seven people who know me, and all of them just shrugged and were, I'm guessing, scared of their manager who was currently yelling at me.

I don't know. I don't know. Because I got real, like, I started throwing some dirty looks around. Like, how dare? Because the amount of money this restaurant has received from me is easily in, like, the thousands of dollars. When I tell you I am a regular at this place, I am a regular at this place.

Yeah, 10 people. 10 people is a lot of people, Megan. That's like a party party.

But to be fair, they told her they could accommodate her.

Right.

Right. And this is a place I've been before with much larger groups. They accommodate business lunches, let's just say that, all of the time. And I've been there with groups much larger than 10.

I didn't yeah yeah go ahead finish your thought it just it wasn't me being crazy this was just

like a normal thing for us I couldn't believe they started yelling at me so I can I tell you

that I have had experienced exactly what you experienced and it's the most embarrassing thing ever when you grab a chair or move a table just trying to accommodate yourselves and it's like an empty table or empty chair and the person will come over like the host or hostess or manager will come over and go, you cannot do that. Nope, I'm sorry, you can't do it. I had that happen to me last Saturday when we were at Bar Verona, and I grabbed a chair from another table, and oh my God, I thought that the hostess was going to kill me. I was like, I'm sorry. I did one of those things, like back up, like if they, you know what I mean? I apologize, here, take everything out of my pocket, whatever you're going to do. But it was one of those things where they get very temperamental people at restaurants. And I get it. They've got people that are probably going to take that table. And they did. Somebody took that table not that long after I was trying to steal one of their chairs.

Yeah. That table got sat within two minutes. There were tons of people waiting. But why would you tell us you could accommodate us? Right. And then yell at me. It is the worst feeling going into a restaurant when they ask you how many and you're like, eh. I know. That's a lot of people. Yeah.

Yeah. They look at you like, really? But I always say you can break us up. Yes. Because I don't like all these people. But make sure you put me at that person's table What's going on, Kaylee?

Has this happened to more people where you got yelled at in a public place where the people that manage it or whatever just yelled at you randomly for, you know, what you thought was trying to be a customer? 844 Mojo Live. Where all of a sudden, out of the blue, you're just trying to have a nice night with a bunch of friends, and they just start yelling at you. I wonder if that manager had a bad night. What do you think, Rach? Do you think that manager was just kind of dealing with something?

What happens is you get lumped in with all the troublesome customers, even if you're not troublesome, because now it's just the averages. It's the lull of averages where if they dealt with somebody that was a pain in the butt an hour before you got in there, You're now part of the pain in the butt.

Yeah. And that is true, by the way. You are now the innocent bystander of bad people that were there that night. Yes.

Guilty by, exactly. That's what I was trying to think of. That's actually, that was Megan on that one. This is interesting now. One of her most favorite places in Toledo. She can no longer go eat. You should try to go back there today just for lunch and see what they say to you. Maybe they'll apologize.

Can I be really honest? One of my really good friends is a server there. And I can't wait to text her today and be like, did you hear about me and my family this weekend?
