Morning. What's going on, Shannon? Well, starting off with the Menendez brothers, Eric Menendez denied parole yesterday by a California parole board.

This morning, Eric Menendez has been denied parole after making his bid for freedom. Eric appearing for the hearing via video link from a San Diego correctional facility. The hearing lasting more than nine hours, but it wasn't long afterwards that a California parole board denied his request, saying he poses an unreasonable risk to public safety. commissioners focused heavily on rule violations spending more than two hours on illegal cell phone usage while in prison he paid a thousand dollars for one he apparently

took another from a prison guard or bought one from a prison guard and that according to the parole board showed a certain level of criminality eric admitting he paid a thousand dollars for one

of those cell phones saying i really became addicted to the phones you're doing life without parole, this is not really harming anyone. The board also noting Eric Menendez's inappropriate behavior with visitors, drug smuggling, misuse of state computers, and violent incidents. One parole board member noting that it is Eric Menendez's behavior in prison that led to the denial, saying, contrary to your supporters' beliefs, you have not been a model prisoner, and frankly, we find that a little disturbing. Just as he claimed more than three decades ago in his first trial. Eric Menendez says they killed their parents after years of sexual abuse by their father. My dad had been molesting me. And when asked why he killed his mother, Eric described feeling betrayed when he learned she knew about the abuse for years. I saw my mother and my father as one person after I learned that she knew. So when I was running into the den, I was in a state of terror of panic of rage in a statement his family saying our belief in eric remains unwavering and we know he will take the board's recommendation in stride there were some touching moments in that

parole hearing at one point the brother's aunt terry her voice quivering you could hear that she was fighting back tears said that she still loved her brother but that she had forgiven eric you know what matter the parole board delivering that crushing blow to eric it was amazing nine

hours of this thing but yesterday on the show i said what would be the chances that they deny one

and give the other yeah it could happen yeah lyle's parole board hearing is scheduled for today and if it was just bad behavior in prison that is causing eric to stay there i don't i don't know anything about lyle's behavior so that we were joking about it actually lyle was the guy reality

I think Lyle was running all the ministry that was there. Yeah, it's going to be interesting, man. But I will say this. California is a crazy place.

California, right now, in current day times, can commit a crime and be back on the streets in like a day or less than a day. Yet these guys, how many years ago? 36. They hold them and there's, you know, all these things that came out about the parents and all this stuff. It's really an interesting thing that they kind of swayed their ways, you know, about how they do certain things and keeping people in prison. But I don't know. i'll be honest with you i think that after watching that uh netflix wasn't it documentary or whatever i had a totally different thing or opinion of them before i thought these guys should be in prison or do that for the rest of their lives now i actually think that they probably

should be out i don't know yeah there are some big questions surrounding hulk hogan's death and this morning tmz is reporting that hulk may have died from a surgical mistake and not a heart attack. Wow. A nerve tied to his breathing may have been severed, according to what police were told. And remember, Hulk's daughter, Brooke Hogan, has been calling out all sorts of inconsistencies in the medical examiner's report, like a mention of leukemia, even though cancer didn't even run in their family, nor did that ever come up during any sort of pre-surgical blood test, which she was usually present for. Clearwater police say the case is still active and nothing official will be released until the family is fully briefed. And Mariah Carey is set to receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, also known as the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's MTV VMAs, airing live on September 7th. That honor marks a milestone for her, by the way, because despite being nominated multiple times over the years, over the past decades, she's never actually won an MTV VMA until now. So, as part of the celebration, she is going to return to the VMA stage for the first time in 20 years to perform a bunch of her biggest hits.
