All right, Shannon, with What's Trending in the Dirty on the 30, what's up?

Well, Justin Verlander announced yesterday that he is retiring after the 2026 season. The 43-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher said that scission has been building for a while now.

Next year, one of the things that come to mind is, besides my family, which is a number one, is this going to be a hard season with the CBA up? You know, are we going to be delayed going into the season? I don't know. I certainly hope not. But everybody's saying we are, and that would just be like another hurdle to have to overcome. And, you know, along with the way the game's played now. And then I sit there and think about my family and spending time with them. And that's something that's been more and more on my mind as this season particularly has gone along.

Verlander, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, a two-time World Series champion, former MVP, ranks eighth all-time with over 3,500 strikeouts. He'll also make his 10th All-Star appearance next week.

I will say this, best Tigers pitcher of all time. Some people may not think that. They may want to go back to, like, the 60s and stuff like that. But I will say this. Nobody was more exciting to watch when he was younger and in his prime. And he brought, obviously, a World Series to Houston, unfortunately, not Detroit. The guy could – he knew how to deal. Like, I mean, I've never seen guys have so many no-hitters that he had. Like, that's like – or perfect games, you know, that he had. The guy was unbelievable. And the biggest accomplishment in that guy's career, Kate Upton.

I was going to say, that was every comment.

Talk about two home runs. I saw them walking around downtown Birmingham one time, and she was just in what looked like, I don't know, a pair of aloe sweatpants or something. She is a smoke show.

I mean, she's a super plump. What kind of shirt was she wearing?

He actually, I didn't notice the shirt for some reason. But can I tell you something? He was a little plump. I thought to myself, I like that.

I feel like baseball players are. They're just thicker.

The All-Star Game thing, though, is he was selected by the commissioner as a legend. So he didn't get votes. The fans didn't vote him. I think they did it all on the same day to announce it.

That is July 19th in New York. It's going to be an 11-minute show. it's put on and curated by Cold Place Chris Martin. It's also going to feature Burn-a-Boy. There's a children's choir from Staten Island that's going to be a part of it. The Muppets are somehow going to be a part of it. The whole show, in addition to being amazing with

lots of celebrities, is tied to a good cause as well. It benefits the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, and they're aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to education and sports for kids worldwide. They're already halfway to their goal. Wow. Yeah. John Stamos, Uncle Jesse, if you were a Full House fan, revealing the reason why he will never, ever, ever join the cast of Dancing with the Stars.

How many times have you been asked to do that show? Every single season. I said, stop. Don't ever ask me again. I'm never going to do that show.

The reason he said what makes that show good is people suffering and looking like fools. He does not want that to be him.

I think he's too cool to do it. That's the thing?

I love that. Can't be a cool dancer. I feel like he'd be good for it. Is that like the sign that your career is over or could it be the thing that rejuvenates it? I don't know. I mean, it's rejuvenated some people.

Yeah, some people have gotten, I don't know, sick or lame. Lots of sick and new publicity.

Yeah. And lastly, if you've been following the explosive diarrhea saga.

Oh, this story is freaking my wife out.

Yeah, so here's your update. Good old Michigan is now dealing with the biggest outbreak ever with well over 1,000 cases of this parasite reported that's causing weeks of explosive diarrhea. Not hours. Not days. Weeks. and it is spreading fast. Poop is raining from the ceilings. Now showing up in 28 other states, including a big new cluster just across the border for our friends in Ohio. Now, what to know here? It's called cyclospora. It's spread through water or food that's contaminated with feces. And a lot of the outbreaks have been linked to bagged salads, fresh basil and cilantro, raspberries, snow peas, and scallions. You want to get me to not eat vegetables? It is not contagious person to person. You have to consume one of these items. What can you do to cut down your chances of getting this thing? Buy actual whole heads of lettuce instead of the bagged stuff. Peel off the first three layers of lettuce if you do do that. Cook your vegetables and fruit when you can instead of eating it raw. Even if you wash it, it's not really going to help. Who cooks fruit? I know. Or just don't buy raspberries. And call your doctor and get on antibiotics ASAP if you think you have this thing.

It is what it is.

Do you guys think that it's weird that we eat bag lettuce? We take it right out of the bag and just start eating it and don't clean it, knowing that whoever's bagging it is probably putting their fingers in the bag.

Well, it's so funny because a lot of the bags will say triple washed.

Yeah, I don't know.

So I'll be honest. When I see that, I'm like, I'm good. I'm good. It's going right in the bowl.

I don't know. Would you go, will you eat at a restaurant and eat salads and things like that? I don't know if I would want to.

Yeah, honestly, clean me out. Let me drop a few pounds.

Chipotle, I know, pulled all the cilantro from the stores. Did they really? And I think that somebody was telling me that they didn't have lettuce at a couple of the stores, too, for that reason.

How do you eat a bowl without lettuce?
