This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:00:53 - 00:01:37 | Speaker 1:

My name is Natarika Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and stuff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30.

00:01:49 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 5:

All right, so Dirty on the 30 is this morning in the community. So my wife, Chelsea, is filling in, helping us with just conversation. but everybody on the show is going to participate in the Dirties on the 30s except for one person is going to host East Hour. This is the hour layout. I'll do this one. Kev's going to do the 7.30 primetime one. Lydia, our producer, is going to do the 8.30 primetime one. And Zach's going to do the 9.30 primetime one. Big Z night dirty. Huh? The late night dirty. The late night dirty. That's right. You are the Conan O'Brien. Hey, I'm down. You're the Conan O'Brien of this whole thing. All right, let me start off with this one. We got Breaking Dirty this morning, and you know how I do. I don't usually do, like, a lot of the dirty that's, like, I don't know, Kanye, Justin Baldoni, you know, the Kardashians. I do dirty that's kind of, like, newsy. Okay. But this is a big, dirty story this morning, or a big story this morning. A plane crash happened in the middle of the night. Air India Boeing plane that was carrying 200 passengers crashed minutes after takeoff from India. It was going to London. The London-bound plane with, they say, 242 people on board, including crew, crashed into a residential area in India just after takeoff. And there's horrifying video this morning that will probably be on all the big newscasts. The Air India Flight 171 plane actually crashed, they said, about, I don't know, it was like four or five miles away from the plane or from where the airport was. The area where it crashed is in India, and I have no idea how to pronounce it. I'm a ma-ba-ba-ba-d? I'm a da-ba-da-ba? I don't know. Are you singing Lady Gaga? Yeah. It was taking off going to London's Gatwick Airport. And right now, we don't have any word of any survivors, but they are right now covering this all over national news. Another Boeing? Well, this is not good because, remember, Boeing's had so many issues now. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. And Boeing was, they were talking about how they were trying to get their stuff together and figure it out. I mean, listen, I will say this to you guys. We talk about plane crashes on the show, and we act as if there's a plane crash every minute. Planes are definitely safer than cars. We get cars that crash way more than planes do. But it's not good when it's always a Boeing, but Boeing's the only ones that seem like they make planes. I'm saying, that's why you got to fly Spirit.

00:04:28 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 4:

Chelsea, don't look like that. I'm telling you.

00:04:30 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 5:

Fly Spirit, you won't crash. There might be a false bomb on the plane, though.

00:04:34 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 4:

That's all right.

00:04:35 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 5:

You didn't hear about that? Oh, yeah, yeah. That was a Spirit Airlines flight. The guy in Detroit, taking off out of Metro Airport, was going to be late for his flight.

00:04:44 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 1:

Running late and then called a false bomb report.

00:04:48 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, a bomb threat. You got to do what you got to do. I mean, you know. By the way, not the smartest thing to do. Don't recommend that at all. I think you're going to be spending. Yeah. You're not going to be going down to Florida on your vacation. You're going to go to jail. You thought she was late for the flight. If you've never been to the Wayne County prison, enjoy. Have some fun. Jury delivers a split verdict in the Harvey Weinstein retrial. Former movie mogul, Harvey Weinstein, was convicted Wednesday of one of the top charges in his sex crimes retrial, but acquitted on another, and the jurors were unable to reach a verdict on the third charge. You know, Weinstein, obviously, has been brought up on these charges and was convicted not that long ago, back in i think 2000 what was it 2000 was it 20 or something where was that it was something where it all happened you know like right around covet time uh one of the jurors says that they were intimidated there was jury intimidation that was going on now i don't know if it was jury intimidation to find guilty or not guilty but now that's going to be a big story today so he he getting out no or not i don't think he's getting out but i think that there's been a lot of people that think that he could have if he could have gotten off on this then gone back and tried to do a appeal to the the courts or to the jails basically to let him out I wonder how the diddy trial effect is or if it does at all I still wonder how much is associated between the two of these guys like Harvey and Diddy and I don't know because there was always talk that Harvey and Diddy We're kind of close. What is the, let's ask my wife, Chelsea, as a correspondent on this one.

00:06:25 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

And you watch TikTok all the time. I was going to say, I thought I saw on TikTok that Harvey Weinstein was kind of a scapegoat. So there wasn't, yeah. So that could be a conspiracy theory, obviously. But he was.

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

The tip of the iceberg.

00:06:42 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 1:

Right.

00:06:42 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

Per se. A couple of big stories happening right now. You know, we know what's going on in Los Angeles. And then, of course, there's protests going all over the world to these ice raids. Last night in Los Angeles was, I believe, like the third night maybe or second night of them having curfews. This happened there. And then in D.C., the president, President Trump and his wife went to the Kennedy Center where they were opening Les Mis, which I just found out was like his favorite musical of all time. That was, which, by the way, one of those boring things I've ever had. It's the worst. Here's a report from ABC News.

00:07:20 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 3:

President Trump attending a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington last night defended his decision to deploy troops to Los Angeles.

00:07:28 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 4:

If I wasn't there, if I didn't act quickly on that, Los Angeles would be burning to the ground right now.

00:07:35 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 3:

L.A. seeing a sixth consecutive night of unrest. The LAPD declaring an unlawful assembly outside City Hall. Officers on horseback moving in after protesters threw fireworks and rocks. The mayor saying the first night of the curfew Tuesday night resulted in no reports of looting or vandalism. Critics argue the protests intensified after President Trump deployed the National Guard Saturday. But Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard claims some anti-ice protesters are being paid. This is something that the Department of

00:08:04 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

Justice and the FBI is looking into, who is funding these protesters. We've seen the ads put up on Craigslist offering people thousands of dollars a week to go out and conduct these violent and dangerous riots in the streets.

00:08:20 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 5:

Kim Kardashian publicly slammed. Hey, hold on a quick. Before we do this show, Mojo's talking about, let's keep the dirty short.

00:08:28 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 2:

This is the last thing. Right. I'm like narrowing mine down.

00:08:32 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 5:

It's three stories. I'm doing three stories. No, this is like his fifth story. Why do you want to call him out like that?

00:08:38 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

God, he just hit me. He's like, he's done. He's done. This is the longest dirty ever. I'm going to be honest. I've been narrowing down my stories. I'm like, what are my top three? What are my top three?

00:08:47 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 5:

Wait, I did the plane crash. I did Harvey Weinstein. I'm doing this. The plane crash was like five minutes a lull. Well, you kept asking questions about the body. I didn't ask nothing. Go ahead. Keep going. Let's make it. This is dirty. Last story. Taking as long as 30. This relates to what we were just talking about, because that's all because of the ice raids. By the way, you're making me look bad in front of my wife. Good. Kim Kardashian publicly slammed the recent ice raids in Los Angeles, calling the enforcement actions inhumane. Well, yesterday, the DHS Assistant Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, fired back on X with mugshots of undocumented individuals arrested, some convicted of violent crimes. And she said, which one of these convicted criminals would you like to stay with you, Kim? Opposing those and then showing off their convictions. All right, that's it. I'm done. By the way, this is the same length of one of Shannon's dirties. No, it's not.

00:09:43 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 6:

Maybe Megan's, but not Shannon's.

00:09:49 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 3:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:11:02 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 2:

Allen Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting and design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before, and hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.
