This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

My name is Natarika Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

Mojo in the mornings, dirty on the 30.

We're giving you a trip to Florida. We're going to do that at 730, so we kind of mixed up some prizes a little bit. And then, Lydia, I think that we've got to talk about this Lions ticket giveaway too because I just saw again that this game is the spotlight game for the NFL. It's going to be a 430 game that is going to be kicking off at Ford Field on Sunday. We're going to give you a chance to win a $1,000 StubHub gift card. And do you guys think, should we vote on this? The only reason I say this is somebody was telling me the month of December, A lot of companies are giving everybody Fridays off, and I'm a little worried that we have more listeners today than we will tomorrow. big news big engagement news okay so selena gomez and benny blanco are engaged and i woke up this morning and i was getting ready and i saw it on my instagram in the bathroom and i screamed and wes was like what happened i was like oh selena gomez is engaged and he's like i'm going back to bed they're so cute she captioned some photos showing off her huge marquee diamond ring forever instagram begins now yeah and then he commented on her post hey wait that's my wife And the celebrity comments and reactions are incredible in this post. So do yourself a favor and go over there. Taylor Swift offered to be the flower girl. Jennifer Aniston was like freaking out. But they've been dating for a little over a year. So big, big congrats to them. Yeah, big, big ring. Megan's looking at it now. I love that. It's pretty. Not a huge fan of the band. But I like the diamond. Same. Those are my exacts.

Way to go, Benny. That guest list for the wedding is going to be incredible.

Do you think this is going to be like the biggest celebrity wedding in a long time? I have a feeling that they're not going to have an actual wedding, that they'll just elope and do their own thing and be quiet about it. Hmm. I don't know. I don't know. We'll see. I feel like a big wedding. Cardi B was the victim of a prank back in October when somebody anonymously called CPS, claiming that she and Offset were abusing their kids. You guys remember this? And she was on Instagram Live just all up in arms about it. Well, CPS won't let down. They apparently have continued their investigation into Cardi and her family. And now she's mad.

You keep harassing me. And there's actual kids out there that is getting abused. There's actual kids out there that are getting their ass beat. I never, none of my kids have ever got touched. None of my kids ever got a little pow pow, a little whooping, a little nothing. None of that. And you out here harassing me. She makes a lot of sense. My kids live like kings and queens.

Yeah, she's like, enough is enough is enough already. And she said she's willing to go to whatever lengths it takes to legally end this investigation, even if it means, A, exposing the CPS agent's information that is doing this to her or writing a five figure check to her attorneys and letting them figure it out. Forbes released its list of the most.

Most Powerful Women, Taylor Swift, ranking 23rd on that list, but number one in the media and entertainment category. Her wealth, largely built from her song royalties, and obviously the Aero Store helped her out just a little bit this year. A new lawsuit alleges that a grandmother died after she was pinned against a wall for two days by her sleep number bed. Oh, my God. Rosalind Walker is from Godfrey, Illinois. She was left trapped between the bed and the wall of her bedroom after the bed lowered itself without warning. Two days later, emergency responders managed to free the 80-year-old. She was taken to the hospital, but she passed away and she suffered the entire time she was fighting for her life. So this lawsuit seeking compensation for her suffering as well as medical bills in excess of $25,000.

Wow, that we did a scam, a phone scam. Remember, trapped in the bed back in the day with Spike?

Yeah, they're basically saying sleep number designed and sold a bed that didn't have adequate instructions or any sort of cautionary language. and then this happened.

Do you guys know of purple mattresses at all? Yeah. Purple mattresses, when they come, they're all sealed up in this big roll and you undo them and they go. Don't do it in a room that's too small.

Smith randomly wants one for Christmas. I think he saw the store at the mall and now he's like obsessed.

And he does need a new mattress. Are those worth it? They're great, very comfortable. You said she was pinned to the wall? Yes. She somehow got caught in between the bed and the wall right next to the bed.

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be the thing you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out of the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.
