All right. We got a lot of stuff to get to this morning. It's Monday. Kind of having fun, hanging out. I got to be honest with you. I'm tired. I'm very tired.

00:02:16 - 00:02:21 | Speaker 5:

I know what would make you less tired, more excited. What's that? Look to your left. You see that cake?

00:02:21 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, what's that? You want a piece? Wait, what is it for? What is that for? I don't know.

00:02:24 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 5:

I guess it's for Tony, but it's like super early.

00:02:27 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 6:

It's Cinco de Mayo. Yeah. And, by the way, we have two big celebrity birthdays today. Celebrity birthday number one, Tony Travato, our boss, celebrating a birthday. Celebrity birthday number two, my son Luke. Celebrity birthday.

00:02:40 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's right. Five, five, five. Yeah, Luke was. You guys? Chris Brown? Look at that. Isn't that crazy? And Chris Brown's birthday.

00:02:46 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 6:

Three great guys. Wait, it's Chris Brown's birthday on my son's birthday. Tres amigos. Oh, that's amazing. Isn't that wonderful? I hope Luke never becomes like Chris Brown. What, rich and amazing? I'll take his dancing. All right. What's up, what's going on, Shannon and the Dirty on the 30s?

00:03:02 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 2:

Well, craziness and a really, really scary situation at Lady Gaga's free concert on Copacabana Beach in Brazil over the weekend.

00:03:12 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 4:

Two people are in custody in Brazil in connection to an alleged bomb plot at Lady Gaga's historic concert on Copacabana Beach Saturday night. Local police say the two suspects were reported fans and part of an online group promoting hate speech and radicalizing teens. Rio police releasing this video detailing Operation Fake Monster, a plan to foil any threats to Gaga's concert on Brazil's iconic beachfront, which drew more than an estimated 2 million fans from around the world.

00:03:42 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 5:

Gaga, we love you. We've been waiting for many years. You're not devastated anymore. We love you.

00:03:49 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 4:

Sound towers spread along the beach to ensure fans could hear. People were checked before entering the show zone, and the security plan included 3,300 military, 1,500 police, and 400 military firefighters. Officials say the suspects were reportedly planning to use improvised explosives, including Molotov cocktails. A man described as the group's leader was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. A teen was also detained. More than a dozen search and seizure warrants were carried out, but police say no explosives were found during the operation. A statement from Lady Gaga's spokespeople say they learned about this alleged threat via media reports this morning. Prior to and during the show, there were no known safety concerns nor any communication from the police or authorities to Lady Gaga regarding potential risks. Wow.

00:04:39 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

How crazy. So that happened Saturday night. Gaga and her team didn't even know. They weren't even aware until yesterday morning about this. Obviously, you heard the concert went on and he mentioned it in that clip really quickly. you may have missed it the show broke the record for the highest attended concert by a female artist in history near nearly actually the

00:05:00 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 4:

Final number, 2.5 million little monsters were on that beach to see her perform.

00:05:06 - 00:05:16 | Speaker 2:

How do you secure that many people in one place? I don't know how they do it. Okay, so would you be upset if you're Gaga and you didn't know going into it? Or would you be happy knowing that you got through it and they had everything all taken care of?

00:05:16 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 4:

I would. Some things are better left unknown. If I had to get up on that stage, I would not have wanted to know.

00:05:21 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 2:

You would definitely not give it your all. Well, remember that Taylor, like you talked about, the Taylor Swift thing, They ended up not being able to secure the threat that they had. It's weird that they were trying to radicalize little monsters. Yeah. Like, they were trying to radicalize her own fans to be part of this thing. How do they do that? Like, are they paying you? Are they, like, what is the thing that they're doing?

00:05:43 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 4:

It's like a brainwash. And remember, this was an adult and a teenager who attempted to carry this out. I mean, there was no age demographic that was left untouched.

00:05:52 - 00:06:01 | Speaker 2:

They can't be the main plotters. Like an adult and a teenager, you almost wonder if there's something going on, like a terror cell somewhere else.

00:06:01 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I don't know. They also found child pornography, one of the two. Well, they always do. That's how they get you. You know, once they start doing some digging, yeah.

00:06:08 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 2:

I hate to say it, but that's, I always feel like that's how the feds or whoever the people are arresting you. They get you on something else. Keep you in jail is they'll find that you looked at, you know, porn somewhere or something like that. And then they say, okay, we got you on this. Now we're going to be able to keep you on the other stuff. That's how they do it on SVU. That's right. I saw that. Believe it or not, I'm going off of that as my expert expertise on it.

00:06:31 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 3:

I'm telling you. Teach you everything you need to know.

00:06:33 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 4:

Prince Harry sitting down with the BBC, BBC News specifically, shortly after a judge dismissed his appeal of a previous court ruling, Prince Harry, that let the British government scale back his taxpayer funded security detail. This is the reason that he and Meghan and the kids have not gone back as a family to the UK. He was very clearly upset about this, revealing that he's not even on speaking terms with his dad, King Charles, because of this security stuff.

00:07:03 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 1:

Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to reconcile.

00:07:17 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 4:

also wrote a scathing letter following this ruling about how now he he does not think he will ever go

00:07:24 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 2:

back to the UK because of this but here's the thing I don't understand he wanted out so he didn't want to be part of this whole thing and I know that there are those that know that I'm not a big pro-royal person I think the whole thing is a bunch of hogwash but these people the the people uh Harry and Meghan aren't they making a bajillion dollars off podcasting and things that they do here can't they afford their own security why do they all secure why does the government need to

00:07:51 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

that because of who he is he feels like he is but if you know listen deserving of that if he's no

00:07:58 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 2:

longer wanting to be a prince or be part of the whole thing then he's not a prince no longer part

00:08:04 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 3:

of it kevin we listen i agree with you in some respects but just like i mentioned last week and i'll do it again right now there are former presidents and i don't know if former vice presidents get secret service, but they still keep their details. Yes, because we are

00:08:16 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 2:

a great country.

00:08:19 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 3:

And their kids. Don't the kids still get it, too? I think their kids only get

00:08:22 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 2:

it to a certain time. Okay. I do. Yeah, I think that then they lose it. Harry, Meghan, and the kids, they detail. They make a ton of money themselves. It doesn't matter. They don't need it. All right, and

00:08:34 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 4:

lastly, there is a new trend among dudes that, I don't know how I feel about this, you guys. Some guys are shaving off their eyelashes in an attempt to look more masculine. How do you even do that?

00:08:48 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 2:

That makes you look masculine?

00:08:49 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 4:

I don't know, but I guess this is a big... So I'm not on TikTok, but I'm hearing that this is a big thing on TikTok that guys are grabbing clippers and scissors or going to the barber to chop their lashes very, very short. And eye doctors are saying, do not do this. It's a bad idea. It can lead to irritation. The stubs poking your eyes. like your eyelashes are there for health reasons um and so i think they look pretty all of my nose

00:09:18 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

hairs out like i was actually waxing them and i found myself getting a cold or something like that after a while they're there to trap germs well my problem is i would almost rather get sick then you should see the excessively long ones matter of fact there's one right now on this

00:09:34 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 4:

video camera you can see okay honest to god i can see it from here okay because your profile is up

00:09:39 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

against the white wall. See if you can zoom in on that, Bianca. The long one's got to go.

00:09:43 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

Pull that sucker with your fingernails.

00:09:45 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 3:

I can't find it. Don't you get food caught in there?

00:09:48 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 2:

In my nose? I read, truly.

00:09:51 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 4:

It's a shower when he eats an apple in here.

00:09:53 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 2:

You know I don't do cocaine because there's no way. I would never get it.

00:09:58 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 2:

00:10:22 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 1:

You're going to see the weekend.

00:10:24 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 3:

Have a fantastic week. Hopefully this weather gets better. Yeah, this weather, by the way, yesterday was just nonstop rain forever. You don't like the rain? You know, I'm okay with it. Now that I have to have, like, shoulder surgery and stuff, I'm going to be out. I can't golf. I want all my friends not to be able to either.

00:10:45 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 4:

Misery loves company.

00:10:46 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 3:

Exactly. I'm telling you, it's the kid with chicken pox. I had chicken pox. I'm looking out the window, all the kids on a sunny day. I want to see the weather just be horrible.

00:10:54 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 4:

Next week, it's supposed to get 80s, though. Oh, that's nice.

00:10:56 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 3:

Hold on. And Lauren's on with us. It wants to say hi to Kevin. What's going on, Lauren?

00:11:02 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 1:

Hi, Kevin. My daughter and I were both at the Make-A-Wish walk on Saturday. You were so, so, so kind to my daughter and just made her entire day. She was so, so excited.

00:11:19 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 4:

Forgive me if I don't say this right. Is it Brinley?

00:11:23 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 1:

Nope, it's Harper. Harper, my bad.

00:11:25 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 3:

That was the other daughter. that's okay wait is it so that's obviously how did you pinpoint it because you met a bunch of people how would you like know who this would be i don't know uh well harper and you had a good time and your daughter actually uh enjoyed kevin what did he do did he uh kevin always uh uh is very kind to everybody but i have to be honest with you you must be an attractive mom

00:11:50 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 1:

um maybe so my daughter really really wanted to take a picture but she's she's kind of shy and so we approached kevin and he was just so welcoming and just made her feel so comfortable and took a bunch of pictures with her and and was just so very kind so thank you so much for being so nice to my girls. We did it in front of the tent, right? Yes, yes. That's cool.

00:12:21 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 4:

Yes, I remember it.

00:12:22 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 3:

Lauren, thank you for calling and acknowledging that because he's got a horrible reputation and we want to clean up his act. No, he's a great dude. People were loving you out at our Moran Automotive giveaway that we had on Friday.

00:12:35 - 00:12:36 | Speaker 4:

That was such a good time, man.

00:12:37 - 00:12:57 | Speaker 3:

Everybody was loving coming out and seeing everybody and having fun. That contest turned out to be great. You couldn't ask for a better winner. when I watched the video back and I saw the reaction of, was it Declan, her son? Yeah, Double D. When Declan had the shocked look on his face, like, oh my God. And mom got real emotional. It was perfect.

00:12:57 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 4:

It was on our Instagram if you haven't seen yet.

00:12:59 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 3:

Go check it out.

00:13:00 - 00:13:02 | Speaker 2:

Just a few technical difficulties, but it was fun.

00:13:03 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 3:

I can't believe the amount of email, or not emails, the text messages I got, nobody emails anymore. Text messages I got from people, including some salespeople, Alicia Bailey goes, that was the greatest broadcast ever. And I'm like, yeah, because it wasn't your client. If it was your client, you would have hated it. And she goes, no. She goes, the way that you handled it and how you guys dealt with it, I'm telling you, I don't know how I did it.

00:13:23 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 2:

And thank God Brian Moran is a fabulous client. I was very laid back and was like, it's great. He loved it.

00:13:28 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 4:

Shout out to Brian.

00:13:28 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 2:

This is the greatest day.

00:13:29 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 4:

It was a great day, Brian.

00:13:30 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 2:

Thank you for letting us invade your dealership.

00:13:32 - 00:13:48 | Speaker 4:

And I think we just got to remember to keep things into perspective. Obviously, it's our jobs and we want things to go off without a hitch. But at the beginning of the day, like you said, a mom who has a child, she's a teacher. She won a brand new car and drove off the lot. And we got to meet a ton of listeners.

00:13:49 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 2:

Kev, I do wish you were a part of this show back in the day when if that would have happened, this man to my left would have lost his effing mind.

00:13:57 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 4:

When he goes crazy like that, do you get nervous and scared or do you laugh?

00:14:02 - 00:14:16 | Speaker 2:

I used to get really scared. Okay. Not scared in a way that anybody was in danger or anything. but I just don't like people, like, yelling or whatever. But then it turned really funny. It got really funny.

00:14:16 - 00:14:24 | Speaker 3:

I asked for not perfection. I used to ask for perfection on the show. I asked for competency. That's all I asked for is competency.

00:14:25 - 00:14:32 | Speaker 2:

Like, Kev, he would get up and be like, that's it. I'm going home. And he would walk out, and I'd be like, three, two, one. And then he'd walk back.

00:14:32 - 00:14:37 | Speaker 3:

Jesus, put the call on hold

00:14:37 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 2:

It was so funny It's like my dad now When I was growing up, my dad was kind of scary Because he was really strict And now he gets mad and I'm like, dad, shut up

00:14:46 - 00:14:47 | Speaker 4:

Like, stop

00:14:47 - 00:15:29 | Speaker 3:

Get mad at his Prima Donna ass I still can't figure out Why it is that we Cannot get a broadcast right We are the largest radio broadcast Thank you.

00:15:00 - 00:16:18 | Speaker 5:

company in the world and we cannot do a broadcast without it being a spit show and i'll be quite honest with you i said this to tony travato on friday happy birthday by the way boss i said to him on friday i go we shouldn't do these anymore you want to alleviate the stress in all of our lives let's stop doing them let's just stay in the studio our show sounds so much better when we're in the studio anyway it is different it's fun and he's like no no no you can't you can't say that i'm like all right tony you juggle with knives somebody's gonna get stabbed you can't say that either huh you sound like alec baldwin i'm telling you you you play with guns somebody gets shot alec baldwin that happens all the time but instead we go out there and do it i i think there's an omen over me i think i've got a black cloud over me because you well i watch and listen to the sports station 971 the ticket here in town or I see WOMC or I see WJR is a mess I see these guys they do broadcast they do it and they're great and it works we do them and it's like we're you know high school broadcasting like the high school state

00:16:18 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 3:

listeners love it

00:16:19 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 5:

Bloomfield Hills High School's radio station has better broadcast capabilities.

00:16:24 - 00:16:29 | Speaker 6:

And it's not our personnel because we have great personnel that does their best to figure it out every single time.

00:16:29 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 5:

We don't have the right personnel. We don't. We fired all the really good engineers that used to go out and do this for us.

00:16:39 - 00:16:40 | Speaker 6:

That is not true. We did.

00:16:40 - 00:16:43 | Speaker 5:

We got two engineers for 18 radio stations.

00:16:43 - 00:16:47 | Speaker 6:

But that's not Randy and Mark's fault what happened out there.

00:16:47 - 00:16:52 | Speaker 5:

But those two guys can't leave to go up to a car dealership when, if they do, the transmitter could explode.

00:16:52 - 00:16:58 | Speaker 6:

But that's what happened. The power died in the things. That's not like human error. That's just the multi-technology.

00:16:59 - 00:17:08 | Speaker 1:

We sounded like a high school show, though, once me and Zach took over. It was Mojo's mic went out. Honestly. I didn't even know that that happened because we couldn't hear anything. It's so funny.

00:17:08 - 00:17:16 | Speaker 5:

Honestly, you know what the funniest part of the whole thing was? The funniest part of the whole thing was it would be craziness, and then all of a sudden Zach would come on and go, I just want

00:17:16 - 00:17:20 | Speaker 7:

Hey Lydia do you know what car it is

00:17:20 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 5:

Oh it's so good

00:17:24 - 00:17:31 | Speaker 6:

Lydia knew what car it was so she's not playing along with Zach she was like yeah I do

00:17:31 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 5:

but here's the thing though if you go back you can listen to the podcast if you want to for the fun of just listening to the train wreck I say this to you all the time we can never go through. We've never had a flawless broadcast. It just never has happened. In my 25 years of existence in this radio station here, it has not happened.

00:17:54 - 00:18:00 | Speaker 6:

And it never will. It won't go on. Maybe that's what you have to sacrifice in order to have an illustrious career. Is that it? Okay.

00:18:01 - 00:18:01 | Speaker 5:

All right.

00:18:01 - 00:18:02 | Speaker 6:

It's your cross to bear.

00:18:02 - 00:18:20 | Speaker 5:

Maybe I just need to, I don't know, call up the Odyssey guys and find out how they're able to do it. Explain this to me. Hey, how does 97.1 broadcast from everything and they have no problems with it? So somebody tell us. Maybe we'll hire on a part-time basis, whoever they have figured it out.
