So if you saw the video or photos of the dog chained to a fence in rising floodwater off of a highway in Tampa yesterday as Hurricane Milton approached, he is safe. He is okay. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol rescued the abandoned bull terrier dog and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis promised to hold any pet abusers in the wake of this hurricane accountable.

I mean, first of all, what kind of an animal would just leave a dog chained to a pole in the middle of a hurricane? I mean, it's just unbelievable that somebody would do that. And so I'm thankful for the FHP folks out of Tampa for rescuing the dog. They did bring it to the vet. The dog has a clean bill of health. And who knows, maybe we'll do some adoption, put the dog up for adoption, and we can have some people in Florida come and compete for it and take it.

That's actually going to be interesting to see where such a horrible story like that turns into maybe a positive to help, especially the animal shelters down there.
