Mojo in the Morning's Dirty on the 30. All right, we're gonna get to the Dirty on the 30 right now,

00:02:09 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 2:

Shannon. What do you got trending this hour? Well, let's start off with the wildfires because that's all anybody's talking about right now. Unfortunately, the mayor of LA, by the way, not getting any trophies or accolades for her handling of these terrifying wildfires that are They're causing just so much devastation in that area. In fact, total opposite. She is facing a lot of backlash. And she's been largely absent from helping her people in the wake of their homes and their businesses burning. So there's that. She also just cut the fire department's funding, which horrible timing there.

00:02:47 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 1:

Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning? Do you regret cutting the fire department budget by millions of dollars, Madam Mayor? Have you nothing to say today? Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today? Elon Musk says that you're utterly incompetent. Are you considering your position? Madam Mayor, have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today who are dealing with this disaster?

00:03:18 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 2:

Governor Gavin Newsom questioned by Anderson Cooper about why he is taking or getting, I should say, so much blame placed on him for these fires, including this this fact that some of the fire hydrants in the Pacific Palisades area have run out of water.

00:03:37 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 5:

What is the situation with the water? Obviously, in the Palisades ran out last night in the hydrants. I was trying to fire a fire in this block. They left because there was no water in the hydrants here.

00:03:46 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 9:

The local folks are trying to figure that out. I mean, just when you have a system that's not dissimilar to what we've seen in other extraordinarily large-scale fires.

00:03:55 - 00:04:43 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, more than 130,000 residents have already been evacuated. Five lives have been lost. More than 2,000 structures totally gone. A couple of things. The Critics' Choice Award is set to go down on Sunday in Santa Monica. That has since been postponed. They've been rescheduled to January 26th. The Oscar nominations, which were set for the 17th, they've been pushed to Sunday the 19th. Lots of movie premieres canceled or pushed back. The fires have also impacted production on a number of TV shows, including Abbott Elementary, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, as well as The Price is Right and some of the late night shows, excuse me, including Jimmy Kimmel Live and After Midnight. Can I ask a dumb question? Yeah. Why move the Oscar nominations? I don't, maybe it's because of where they were taking, supposed to take place. I don't know. I thought they did it on GMA. And they're only bumping them two days.

00:04:43 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I think the reasoning is that there's no fanfare going on in LA. It's not just because the celebrity homes are burning down. It's just people in general. And I think it just looks insensitive to do it at this time. Like, I think that we don't fathom what is.

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 5:

going on because we're obviously not there but this is like horrific to see that so many people lose everything and not just celebrities but so many just average everyday human beings are

00:05:14 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 2:

losing their homes their apartments business business so many business owners i want to be very clear i absolutely agree with you i know the world did not shut down this way when hawaii

00:05:23 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 5:

burned down well can i tell you something there's a there's a lot of people that are looking at what happened in maui and looking at what's going on in los angeles and they're saying how is the preparedness not in effect you know that whole idea with gavin newsom and the the water there they there was reservoirs that a lot of people wanted to build where they were going to you know have water rain off everything you know go into it and available so that you have you know uh an ability to be able to put out these fires he said no because it was going to hurts smelt fish but you know what a smelt fish is it's like a smell fish is like a worm fish basically it's like and then they found out years later they found out like a couple three years later that it doesn't matter and it would have saved more lives than it would saved smelt fish it's like stupid things like that it's too political and i hate to say this you got to be able there's there's certain things that that people want you can't cut 16 million dollars to firefighters if you start cutting if you start cutting the money that you're spending to protect people whether it be protecting people you know with their lives or their things or fire yeah well that money went to the police department right no that money went to the to help the the homeless community they said the homeless camps that they had downtown which they need the money too but you

00:06:40 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 3:

can't cut everything you can't cut 16 million dollars and again the timing i mean yeah uh president-elect trump talking about the fires yesterday the true tragedy i know those areas

00:06:51 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 4:

very well i have many friends living in those houses that is a true tragedy nobody ever thought I mean, virtually Beverly Hills and areas around Beverly Hills are being decimated.

00:07:00 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 3:

In Other Dirty Today, Jay-Z and his legal team are moving to dismiss the lawsuit that accuses him of raping a teenage girl. He did file a motion yesterday pointing out some impossibilities and inconsistencies in the Jane Doe accuser story about the night of the 2000 MTV VMAs. And he cites an interview that this woman shared just last month where she admitted to some inaccuracies in her story. In the new motion, Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, also moves to place a monetary sanction on this woman's lawyer, this Tony Busby guy that we've been hearing so much about, claiming he moved forward with this claim without even doing due diligence, like looking into the validity of it. And Tony Busby said, you know, this is BS. I'm not going to be bullied or intimidated by this new motion or Jay-Z. Bruno Mars is a single guy again. You guys, I didn't even know he was in a relationship. But he's been in a relationship with the same girl for the past 13 years. They have broken up. It seems like everything is very amicable. People were kind of coming at him on social media yesterday. And she, her name is Jessica Caban, actually was showing support for Bruno and their relationship. And she just said, I will always be happy and celebrate him and all of his continued achievements. I will always be cheering him on from afar. But he's a single guy, I guess. So maybe he can take two girls or ten girls to all of his events.

00:08:33 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 5:

My favorite text that I just read from the post-Cav break that we just did was somebody text Kev Hefner. Listen, man, I'm just trying to live my life and read scriptures. Praise my son. That's it.
