I am hopefully not mispronouncing her name, but Coltita Woods, who was Tiger Woods mom, passed away yesterday morning and he announced this news on his Instagram. He did not reveal how his mom, who was 78 years old, by the way, how she passed in his social media post. But he did describe her as a force of nature, said she was his biggest supporter from the time she drove him to junior golf tournaments, to being there for all of his 15 major championships, often wearing her big old visor and sunglasses. If you're a golf fan, you know exactly what I'm talking about. But yeah, so.

The Dallas Mavericks are offering refunds to fans who have canceled their season tickets in the wake of this Luka Doncic trade. He's obviously going to the Lakers. We heard a couple of days ago Mavericks fans understandably pretty pissed off about this trade. A trade that really blindsided everybody. Hundreds have been protesting outside of the American Airlines Center. Here's Luka, by the way, talking about this.

Well, it was honestly it was hard first. The first day was really hard. I felt like this last 48 hours was one month. Like two days ago was one month ago. So emotionally it was really hard.

And Lakers GM Rob Palenka sharing why this deal had to be kept so under wraps.

When the concept was initially introduced to us, it was, hey, the only way we can even have these discussions was if it's between owner and GMs. And there was a commitment to that. And if we broke that commitment by talking to anyone else, this day would never happen.

Quick question, Mojo, and I'm interested to get your thoughts. You're a little bit older than I am, so you have more experience and knowledge on how the NBA was and if it's changed. But I feel like with this new generation, I'm seeing more loyalty to a player than a team, which brings up the point of Shannon's initial reason for the dirty is that people are asking for refunds because one player is not leaving the franchise.

Well, I think that if you would have traded Michael Jordan or Isaiah Thomas or back in the day, we saw this with Chauncey. When Chauncey got traded to Denver, Pistons fans were pissed. And I don't know what the specifics were, but I knew that I gave up my season tickets.

Yeah. Me too.

Yeah. Because I thought it was, first off, everybody was excited. They thought that they were bringing Allen Iverson in here and it was going to be great. Allen Iverson was a bust. He was awful. And Chauncey was a Pistons. And so, long story short, I still think that people are loyal to a team. I think there's a lot of people that are Luka fans that don't live in Dallas. You know what I mean? Like, he's one of those players that's iconic enough that people go out and buy, you know, his jersey sales and stuff like that. There's something that the Dallas Mavericks are doing here that you'd think that these guys might. It's the financial end of things.

they just got bought and maybe these people are like hey we're not putting all this money out on this guy we don't feel like he's gonna end up you know being as great as he is right now five ten years from now and that could kill our franchise it's either that or they think that if they get a player like uh ad if they bring him in here they can make the the finals and they can win with him where they didn't think that luka donchish's efforts on defense probably could get him i don't know i'm watching like steven a and all these guys talking about this i feel like everybody's swaying back and forth on if it's a good trade or a bad trade like i don't think you know i think that it's great for the lakers but i think the lakers still aren't going to be good enough

And I did not know this, but I saw that President Trump's going to go to the Super Bowl. I did not know it will be the first time ever that a president has ever been at a Super Bowl. I didn't know. First time that a president has ever been at a Super Bowl game will be this weekend if he does do that. I'm shocked that the Secret Service is letting this happen with two attempts on the man's life. I don't know. It seems like a, I know there's a lot of security stuff that goes on into things, but that seems like that would make it that you have to be even more secure.

But one of the things that she was talking about, and I wanted to play this particular clip is because we've talked about this many many times how she changes her voice in certain interviews that she does she has a reason for it if i have a long day of press or if i have to sing

i'll place it a little higher um so it so i'll change my vocal placement to kind of preserve um but that is just kind of something that's healthy for the voice and whatever that's

Because staying higher gives less stress on it than talking in a lower register?

Yeah, so it's just like physically pitching your voice up a tiny bit. That's what I do. I do the same thing. Yeah, but it's just a normal thing for vocalists, but people are like, that's not her natural voice. And I'm like, well, it is actually, but it's just a little higher because all of it is natural. And it's so funny because we've talked about it a zillion times and people are still like, where's your real voice? And I'm like, well, they all are. So this makes sense.

If you are a theater kid or if you are a singer, you know that if you are experiencing laryngitis or something, you're supposed to talk like Julia Child. Like you're supposed to talk in a higher register because it preserves your voice. You don't believe it, do you?

I don't. It's facts, bro. Whenever I see, like, people that start talking with accents and things like that, like these artists, I feel like they want to be, they want to be.

Well, like Britney Spears having a British accent is apples and oranges. But that's where I think she skirted the question. They are asking about why do you choose to use different words or act differently in interviews. Like, there are so many interviews where she's Glinda. And there are other interviews where she comes off a little bit culture vultry. And so I think people were more interested.

That explanation made sense to me, but that doesn't explain some of those other things. Yes. For fairness. And lastly, CBS's live broadcast of the Grammy Awards Sunday night attracted about 15 and a half million viewers. That's down just under 9% from the 17 mil that watched last year. And like other big Hollywood award shows, the Grammys has just kind of seen its ratings steadily decline over the years.
