All right. Nominations for the 97th Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning with Emilio Perez, A Complete Unknown, and Conclave, which I just watched, at the top of the noms. And this comes after the nominations were delayed, I think, twice. I think they pushed it back twice because of the wildfires, which I do have an update on in just a moment. But leading the pack in overall nominations with 13 is Emilia Perez. Which is wild. And by the way, that achievement, the 13 noms, is one nomination shy of tying the record for overall nominations for a single film. Titanic, All About Eve, and I believe La La Land did that. They all received 14 nominations. actress Carla Sofia Gascon playing the lead role in Emilia Perez made Oscar history by being the first transgender woman to be nominated in any acting category. She joins a very competitive field with Cynthia Erivo from Wicked and Demi Moore from The Substance and behind Emilia Perez in overall nominations were The Brutalist and Wicked which each received 10 nominations. I'm very excited about that um ariana grande yeah so if you're a wicked fan ariana got nominated for best supporting actress cynthia arrivo for best actress which we knew was what there were rumors

of that because they didn't want them to pull from each other's votes yes which would have

happened yeah absolutely some snubs sofia or sofia uh selena gomez did not get nominated for emilio perez and angelina jolie did not get nominated to be nominated for that movie you

So going back to the wildfires, yesterday evening, well yesterday in general two brand new fires broke out uh the the most recent one the one that happened last night was along the 405 freeway in la that blaze erupted just hours after another one had burned more than 10 000 acres earlier in the day this is la county sheriff robert luna

talking about it uh people uh who are affected by our evacuation orders another 23 000 that are impacted by evacuation warnings yeah so 50 000 people we missed the first part of that clip but

50 000 people now affected by this new batch of fires people need to uh take uh the law into their

own hands and if they see somebody lighting a fire which is their way that they're thinking that 80 of these fires have started they say that the first set of fires they believe were started because of the dryness and the way that the weather was. This is insanity that people are lighting fires intentionally. If you see that, if you see somebody lighting a fire in an area by your home intentionally trying to burn down people's homes is insanity. I don't get it.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' legal team made a pretty big move yesterday. They requested a gag order be implemented against Justin Baldoni's lawyer, Brian Friedman, after he released all of those unedited takes from It Ends With Us and then threatened to, like, dump all of the receipts on a website. They sent a letter to a judge asking him to prohibit this lawyer from talking to the media. And they're saying his comments could taint a jury pool should Blake's sexual harassment case make it to court. So they claim that this guy has given all sorts of TV interviews. He's been on podcasts. He's issued written statements and leaked information to the Hollywood press and tabloid media virtually every day since these lawsuits started last month. Another big loss for our Lions. Aaron Glenn, who was our defensive coordinator, is now headed to the Jets, where he will be the head coach. Terms of the deal not announced. I do know it's a five-year contract, which ties him to the Jets through 2029. He is inheriting a 5-12 team. One of his biggest decisions is going to be Aaron Rodgers. I don't know what's going to happen there.

In other NFL Dirty this morning, Travis Kelsey is responding to Lil Wayne's accusations that the Chiefs are cheaters.

The whole world was talking about something else during the game. And I'm sure you saw some of this, but they were complaining about the refs again, Trav. Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne, I hate the cheating **** Chiefs. It's going **** with two Zs. Shout out to Doonzy, man.

He didn't seem that bothered by it.

By the way, it is definitely apparent that the NFL wants the Chiefs to get in there. And it may not be the Chiefs cheating, but it's definitely the NFL cheating. Preach. Yeah. I mean, I've seen more stuff be called in the way of, you know, giving them the, like, they call more penalties if you just touch their quarterback. Jared Goff gets his ass handed to him, you know, the other day, and nobody calls anything that happens to him. So it's just insanity.
