Shannon, while we start off the dirty this morning, we have a very special guest here with us this morning. This man is the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Detroit Tigers. His name is Bobby Hoekstra. Yeah! And Bobby, if you can get us heaters, Well, look at you, man. Are you a former player or what's the story?

I wish. I keep telling them I'm ready, but they haven't put me on the field yet.

Will you play on my JCC Men's League team, for gosh sakes? We need a center. What's happening?

So tell us, how excited are you for the opening day game today, but also just the start of the season?

Thrilled. You know, this is a huge milestone for us every year and something we're working towards all offseason. So, you know, when you're in the winter, everything's dark and cold. We finally made it. It's summer. It's baseball. Tigers are back. So it's a great day in Detroit.

What does a job like yours entail? Like, are you dealing with all the fans in the stands, dealing with the players and contracts? What do you do? What's your job?

Yeah, it's anything and everything. So, you know, I oversee our finance side, too. But that's every dollar in and out we're analyzing. But then just business strategy, we want to, you know, bring in as much money as we can on the business side. and then we're going to go spend that all on our baseball team and make sure we're making smart decisions about how we do that.

All right. All right. I like this. And you've got a lot of players that are literally up and coming. They're on first year or first contracts and stuff like that. So you've got your work cut out for you, especially after the way that that team came on at the end of the last season too.

Absolutely. It's getting exciting on the field. Obviously, we have our young core and so many guys that we're excited about that are going to be here for a long time. And then we're also going to work supplementing that. So, you know, as you can see, whether it's with Flaherty, Cobb, Taurus, all these guys, like we spent some money this offseason. We're going to keep doing that. We just got to keep finding it, and we'll go find something to spend it on.

It's interesting. You know, I follow baseball a lot. Kev's a huge NBA guy, so he follows the NBA a lot. And also I know a lot of our listeners are fantasy people, too. But it's wild because I really – there was a couple of free agents I thought we were going to get, And then I started reading some of the stories about, like, Bregman and stuff, where they said we were very close to getting him. Sometimes I feel like the ones you miss out on are actually good for you, that you miss out on them. And then the ones that you end up getting, like the Flaherty one.

And getting him back, the fact that you guys were able to trade him, get a bunch of good prospects, and then bring him back, he obviously likes it here enough to be able to re-sign with you guys.

Yeah, I mean, that one worked out about as good as any deadline trade can. You know, we got awesome players. We love Sweeney and Lorenzo. Jack gets to go win a World Series and then come back home to us. So that one's great. And then, you know, even just the offseason, you never know what's going to happen, what deals are going to come to fruition or not. That's what makes our jobs stressful but also very fun because you literally don't know what's going to be available, and you've got to be agile and quick when you see the right opportunities.

Real quick, 25 years we're celebrating this year. Being the head of BO, I know that doesn't sound as sexy as business operations, but I'm a short guy. BO, give me some sneak peeks, man, some surprises that we can expect from you guys this season.

Yeah, so we've got a lot on deck to help celebrate our 25th season here. We've amplified our theme weekends. We have one specifically tied to our 25th anniversary celebration, so there's going to be a lot of vintage look-backs and things that people have loved about this park the entire time here. But we've got the full promotional calendar this year. There's stuff to get excited about all summer, whether that's our giveaways, more of our theme weekends. So we've got Strikeout Cancer Weekend. We have Black and Baseball Weekend. We have Fiesta Tigres, all of our different theme nights throughout on single games too. So there's something for everybody. There's a ton of reasons to get to Comerica Park this year. We're going to have a lot of fun.

It's awesome to see the city come alive and not just for us, you know, seeing, you know, the wings are on an upward trajectory, but also what the Pistons and Lions have been doing. Amazing time to be in Detroit as a sports fan.

And great job with Jason Benetti last year, too. I love him. That was a great move.

So yesterday they were on a private jet with Michigan Representative Tom Barrett coming home.

Mr. President, it's Tom Barrett, and I'm here with Paul and Christy Akaio. We are on our way back to the United States. Thank you so much for your help, your investment in this cause, and your team, and everything you did to help them get loose and get free and come back to America. Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham are not on speaking terms at the moment. And a woman named Kim Turnbull is at the center of this. So Kim hooked up with Brooklyn several years ago. He's now married to Nicola pelt but his brother romeo is now hooking up with kim right you know what they need so they shared they're shared a woman all in the family what they

need to keep them together is what Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's kids do. They need to bathe together. Okay. You said, Zanette? Okay. They need to all, that's how they keep a family together

when you're dating the same person. Well, here's the thing. This, this is now gotten to the point where Brooklyn and Romeo will not even be in the same place at the same time if Kim is there. So Brooklyn and his wife absent from David's big 50th birthday party because Romeo and Kim were there. Brooklyn and Nicola skipped Victoria Beckham's fashion show last month because Kim was there. So this is not good. How good is the loving? Sheesh. Yeah. And lastly, lower back. Bended like Beckham. Lower back tattoos, also known as tramp stamps, are becoming popular again, you guys. Tattoo artists are saying they've seen upticks in requests for tramp stamps. And it's a lot of younger people who want these. And it's females specifically wanting to reclaim negative stereotypes, which were once used to kind of, you know, like trash them because everybody thought that a tramp stamp was trashy. Well, no longer. The tramp stamp is now a form of empowerment. and a lot of people are realizing that the lower back is the perfect spot for a decorative piece of body art. So it's coming back. I like that. Getting a second way. You know what?
