Mojo in the mornings, dirty on the 30.

00:02:06 - 00:02:06 | Speaker 6:

What's up in the dirty?

00:02:06 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 4:

Well, after last night's primary, the race for Detroit's next mayor will pit a longtime city council member against a very popular pastor. It is council president Mary Sheffield and megachurch leader Solomon Kinloch Jr.

00:02:26 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 3:

We need leadership that is tested, that is proven, and that is ready to deliver day one in Detroit. I am prepared to meet that moment.

00:02:37 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 4:

Over at the Rooster Tail, the pastor speaking.

00:02:40 - 00:02:50 | Speaker 8:

I want to thank you all for sharing this moment with me. I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you that are gathered here tonight.

00:02:51 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 6:

How do you think his congregation feels about him wanting to be the mayor?

00:02:54 - 00:02:55 | Speaker 8:

To accomplishing something historical. I love it. Really?

00:02:56 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 7:

I mean, if it's a calling.

00:02:57 - 00:02:59 | Speaker 8:

Because I started at the bottom.

00:03:03 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 4:

and we all now wait to the top by the way if mary sheffield should win it would be a historic win she would become the first female mayor of the city of detroit i think if my pastor though was

00:03:23 - 00:03:27 | Speaker 6:

running for mayor i'd be a little upset though because i'd want him to be my pastor right i mean

00:03:27 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 7:

he can't do both i mean there's no way if he hasn't already i'm sure he'll address that And I'm sure she'll address it.

00:03:34 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 6:

Mary Sheffield. And this is not an endorsement because obviously I don't know any of these guys. Because to be perfectly honest with you, I don't live in Detroit. I live in the suburbs, so I'm not voting. But she is a smoke show. Have you seen those billboards of her?

00:03:50 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 7:

Is Mary Sheffield married? No, I don't think so. The streets call her Mayor Bay. Do they really?

00:03:57 - 00:04:01 | Speaker 6:

Do you think she's going to definitely get all the guy votes? I don't know.

00:04:01 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 7:

I know for a fact, though, just from working with her. You have worked with her? Yeah, for sure. Tell us about her. She's a huge business supporter. I mean, she's a good person. She's been in the community doing grassroots efforts for many, many, many years. Wasn't her, was her mom also or dad or somebody like that? I think her dad is a pastor. Really? I'm not 100% sure, though. But I've seen her outside on the streets of Detroit, riding buses, talking to people. And she's been doing that way before she ever announced that she was running for mayor.

00:04:29 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 6:

If she's single, why don't you date her? You could be the first husband.

00:04:34 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

Oh. Yes. That's not bad at all. What do you think about that? What's up, Mary?

00:04:38 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

That would be actually kind of interesting. I think that would be kind of wild, Kevin, dating the mayor. God. I probably have to quit. I want the key to the city. I want the key to the city. You get the mayor of the city.

00:04:49 - 00:04:51 | Speaker 4:

Did Mayor Duggan's office ever get back to you about that?

00:04:51 - 00:04:55 | Speaker 6:

So, you know what? It's funny. I think it's happening.

00:04:55 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 4:

It's not happening.

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I think that we're getting the key to the city. But I do have to tell

00:05:00 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 3:

you this i'm gonna ask for other things too what's the number what's number one on your list no part i want an immunity from any parking ticket that's all i want you need like one of those i will endorse whichever candidate gives me the ability to be able to be the next kwame kilpatrick i want everything that i can get i want the manugian mansion on the weekends i'll give you the endorsement you know an endorsement from this radio show would be a big endorsement

00:05:25 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 4:

I'm not arguing with that. You just need one of those laminated little free parking everywhere stickers you can put in the front of your-

00:05:32 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 3:

Official police vehicle or official vehicle. That's what I want. That'd be amazing.

00:05:35 - 00:06:10 | Speaker 2:

All right. Legendary radio host Howard Stern facing a very uncertain future over at Sirius XM as his five-year, $500 million contract lines down. Okay. So here's the deal. I mean, he's been there since 2006. He's now 71. I am hearing he'd be open to something short term if the price is right, of course. But he is also considering calling it quits. And part of it is he's off in the summer. And this year he's been telling people maybe it is just time for me to retire.

00:06:10 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 3:

His staff, I heard, was blindsided by this.

00:06:12 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Well, and so that's the reason that he may do a one or two year contract if they can meet him where he wants financially.

00:06:18 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

Because he doesn't want to pull the plug on his employees. Yeah. He kind of got away from it. He talks politics all the time. And then the other thing, too, is Zach and I were just talking about this because Zach and I are both Barry Howard Stern fans. He doesn't interview celebrities like he used to, where he would ask questions about their sex lives and things. He's always, like, friends with everybody.

00:06:38 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 2:

Which, you know, it is so interesting. And this is coming from a very inside source. I guess he has, I don't know if it's jealousy or he's just kind of miffed about Sirius XM's reliance on Andy Cohen.

00:06:51 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:06:51 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 2:

Who does do all those things now.

00:06:53 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 3:

Andy's great. Andy actually would be a great replacement.

00:06:55 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 2:

There's a jealousy there.

00:06:56 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 3:

This was when Howard talked about me in a, I was hosting a thing, or we did a segment on our show where I would critique America's most, or not America's most wanted, Americans got talent. And I would critique the judges when Howard was a judge. And I talked about how much I loved Howard on that show. Kudos to Mojo.

00:07:18 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 1:

That's my boy.

00:07:19 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 3:

I don't know who Mojo is, but he got it. I love Mojo. That's out of Detroit.

00:07:24 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

00:07:25 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. All kinds of reviews.

00:07:28 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 4:

But it still fascinates me that people think you're a loose cannon.

00:07:33 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 3:

No. I'm a professional, like Mojo said.

00:07:37 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 4:

Just like he said. Five year, $500 million.

00:07:42 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 3:

Isn't that crazy? That's insane. He's the king of all media. That's what his name is. The king of all media. Howard Stern. Patrick Mahal's not even making that.

00:07:51 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 2:

Quick update. The official cause of death for Ozzy Osbourne was a heart attack. His death certificate also shared some coronary artery disease and said Parkinson's were contributing factors.

00:08:02 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 3:

I'm telling you, the biggest dirty story of the morning is that Scientologists killed Hulk Hogan. Brother. The rumor.

00:08:09 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 2:

His third wife.

00:08:10 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 3:

Allegedly.

00:08:11 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 2:

Is a Scientologist. And you guys, another sex toy thrown on the court at a WNBA game. The third in a week, if you're keeping track, happened during the Liberty Wings game last night.

00:08:22 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 4:

Oh, look out.

00:08:23 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 1:

Something just came onto the floor.

00:08:26 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 4:

Oh, choice of words.

00:08:27 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 1:

Got an object that just flew in as the free throw was being made. And it looked like that hit a player, too. Yep.

00:08:41 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 2:

Oh, sorry. This was during the Fever game. There were two separate incidents of sex toys, by the way. This one almost hit Sophie Cunningham.

00:08:48 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 3:

Wow. I love Sophie Cunningham.

00:08:50 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 4:

She tweeted, stop throwing dildos on the court. You're going to hurt one of us. She tweeted that August 1st. And then she tweeted after it happened, this did not age well. Why is this insane?

00:09:00 - 00:09:00 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:09:00 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 4:

It's crazy.

00:09:01 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

It's funny. I'm Googling right now. I'm going to Google. What? I want to Google why they actually. Are throwing dildos? No. Why do they call it that name?

00:09:12 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 2:

I'll never forget. Somebody threw one out on the Florida at my high school pep assembly one year. What? And the principal had to go get it. And it was, like, jiggling in his hand as he walked away with it. That is, like, burned into my brain. Gross seal of high school. I'll never forget it.

00:09:27 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 4:

He went and got it barehanded? He did.

00:09:30 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 2:

It was, like, I can't forget that. You can't forget that. Just wrapped it around. All right, check out the dirties that you missed today on the free iHeartRadio app.
