Let's get this guy some Zikaru. Let's go. Okay, so it gets turned down just a teeny, teeny tiny. Thank you, Zach. Okay, so the Illinois Supreme Court overturned disgraced Empire actor Jesse Smollett's hate crime hoax yesterday. So essentially this means he's like done. Case dismissed. They dropped all charges against him. And they ruled that he cannot be tried again. And essentially what happened here is the first prosecutor created a deal and then another prosecutor was brought in and flipped that. And all of a sudden he was hit with like jail time. He had to pay restitution. He had to pay some fines. It was like a totally different story. And so a judge this week was like, you can't you can't do that. There was already a ruling. You can't overturn that ruling. So the Illinois Supreme Court made a new decision. This is attorney Nenye Yuche on his conviction being overturned.

He was very pleasantly surprised. You remember that Jussie has been through a lot. At each turn, we've received bad news, whether it was at the lower court in the trial court with the jury's verdict, whether it was the fact that the trial court even allowed this case to go forward, whether it was the appellate decision. And so I think from a human perspective, I'm not a psychologist, but I'm going to wager. I think there was a feeling of, you know, here we go again. And he was pleasantly surprised, to put it mildly. He's very ecstatic. And I would say the biggest feeling I got from him was a feeling of relief.

Unfortunately to me, and I think the Dave Chappelle thing kind of plays into this. It's like I hear the name Jesse Smollett now and I'm like, yeah, like this really just changed the trajectory of his career because he did this, whether he's going to jail or paying restitution or not. You know what I mean? I hear I hear that name and I go, who until you say Juicy Smollett. I know. The other thing I'm like, am I saying it right?

Because I feel like it's Juicy Smollett. I still don't understand how he got off. That's the part that kills me.

Well, I think that they say that you can't double prosecute and that's the lawyers, the prosecutors screwed up.

You basically can't change your mind.

So he got off not because he didn't do it. He got off because you can't have double jeopardy and double jeopardy came into play in this and it was that the bad prosecutor in Chicago that was the person that committed the error judicially. I don't know. I don't, do I sound like I'm pretty good at this? I mean, you're good at 20 times. Now back to you. I haven't even had one drink yet, and I'm sounding like this. But I actually sound smarter when I've got beverages right next to me. Go ahead.

Will and Grace star Sean Haynes, we love him, was hospitalized twice in the same night because of a recurring heart issue. Actor Will Arnett, who's Sean's co-host on the Smart List podcast, broke the news on an episode this week while doing an interview with Hugh Grant.

I've got some upstairs, Hugh. you should know this, that Sean, two, three nights ago, woke up in the middle of the night with a heart issue, drove himself to Cedars-Sinai, didn't wake up his husband, drove himself to Cedars-Sinai. They brought the paddles out. They put them under. They paddled them. He drove home. An hour later, he woke up to use the bathroom again and drove himself back to...

If you're seeing Jason Kelsey's name trending in. So he made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. And I love that he was talking about how tough it's going to be. Like, what the heck do you buy Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift for Christmas?

Yeah, it's tough to shop for, you know, people that can have anything that they want. So, you know. What do you do? You got to go to, you know, Handmade Gifts. Something sentimental maybe that is near and dear to them.

Etsy is where you go. Well, after the show, something kind of crazy happened. This guy wanting Jason's autograph went ballistic on him. And if you've seen these autograph seekers outside of like a hotel, if a sports team is staying there or whatever. In this case, a lot of the late night shows have these autograph seekers that camp outside. So there was a group of them. Jason bypassed them after doing Kimmel, headed for his car. One of the autograph hunters snapped and literally went ballistic on Jason Kelsey.

You ain't nobody special. Don't be a f***er. I don't care. F*** the autograph. It's the attitude. I have a habit. I'm not signing for people that follow where I'm going. We're here and we're not following you. We get every guest that comes here. Morgan f***ing Freeman did it with a busted hand. That's a hundred times bigger than your sorry ass. You're nothing. I'll take you out anytime. F*** you. Next question, bitch.

Wow. Yeah.

Yeah. Thanks, Ted. out of his mind. But then you hear this and you go, I wonder who had the attitude. Yeah, I mean, so this was so relentless.

He did bring up a good point. Morgan Freeman did it with a busted hand. Hey, man. And Morgan Freeman's amazing.

Jason Kelsey made good, got out of his car, went back to this group, managed to calm this man down by promising to sign everything they had with them. And as Jason did so, this man's attitude changed and he apologized.

Is that rewarding bad behavior, or is that just him being a good guy and saying, let's just relax, bro?

I think it's de-escalating the situation so you're not trending the next morning for Jason. The guy sounds entitled.

That was one that I would have been okay with Jason grabbing his phone and spiking it like he did that college kid.
