00:02:53 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 4:

Global travel is all sorts of screwed up right now because one of the world's busiest airports is shut down. That is London's Heathrow Airport. It is going to be closed all day today after a small fire at an electrical substation caused a power outage. And as you can imagine, that doesn't work well for an airport. So people who had flights out of there, people from the states who had connecting flights at Heathrow to other spots in Europe or across the globe. I mean, they are just so unhappy right now.

00:03:25 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 6:

Can I bring up another airport thing? So this story is pretty interesting. I'm going to play this for you because this is a big deal. Anybody that's traveling to Orlando for spring break, yesterday they had a Southwest Airlines flight where the pilot got on to not the runway to go take off. He was on a taxiway and went on the wrong place. I've always wondered, did these pilots...

00:03:45 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 5:

They get confused.

00:03:46 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 6:

And here, take a listen to this report.

00:03:48 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 5:

The FAA investigating after a Southwest flight aborted takeoff, the crew mistaking a taxiway for a runway at Orlando International Airport.

00:03:56 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 2:

32-78, stop. Stop, Southwest 32-78, stop. Cancel takeoff clearance. You're on Hotel Taxiway, Southwest 32-78. Southwest 32-78, yes, sir. We stopped.

00:04:07 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 5:

Officials saying an air traffic controller canceled the takeoff clearance after the aircraft began its takeoff roll on a taxiway, which runs parallel to the runway. There were no other planes involved. Southwest saying it accommodated customers on another aircraft to Albany. And it comes as investigators are giving a first look at what they say happened during that dramatic crash landing in Toronto.

00:04:29 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 6:

This, by the way, is an interesting story. Listen to this. They finally came out with this.

00:04:33 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 5:

This is the Canadian FAA that did the plane seen flipping upside down, smoke billowing from the fuselage. Examiners pouring over the images. Now just a month later, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada saying the plane was going very fast, triggering a so-called sink rate alert, warning the pilots of a dangerous descent. The preliminary report saying part of the right main landing gear fractured and the landing gear folded into the return. retracted position. The right wing struck the ground and broke off. Fuel spilled out of the wing and ignited. Passengers inside suspended upside down, hanging by their seatbelts. Everything, drop it. Come on. All 80 people on board evacuating. Everyone survived, but 21 injured. New images showing that right wing blackened on the ground, 215 feet away from the fuselage, and inside, the overhead bins popped open, luggage thrown about the upside-down cabin. And we're learning the first officer who was flying at the time of the crash had been with Endeavor Air, a subsidiary of Delta, for just over a year and had just over 1,400 total flight hours. The FAA requires 1,500 hours for commercial pilots, but because she had a special aviation degree, she was eligible for a certificate allowing her to serve as co-pilot, which is standard practice under FAA guidelines. The pilot flying was fully

00:05:56 - 00:06:05 | Speaker 4:

qualified but very inexperienced so the weather was challenging we knew that there were wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour but this frankly should have been handled there were plenty of other

00:06:05 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 2:

aircraft that were landing just fine that day we were talking yesterday shannon and i were and i said uh when i get on an airplane if it's an old man that's the pilot i'm happy me too like no offense to any newbies i don't want a pilot that doesn't have enough hours doing something like i I want the pilot that literally has seen it all.

00:06:24 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. Aren't all the young pilots like pretty much from the Air Force?

00:06:27 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 2:

Not all of them. I don't think, I think some people just come right out of school.

00:06:31 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 3:

I thought the vast majority of pilots were from the Air Force.

00:06:34 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

Where did you get that? To the Google.

00:06:36 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 3:

I feel like I read it somewhere recently. I trust it.

00:06:39 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 2:

You gotta, I don't trust her.

00:06:41 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 3:

She'd be knowing stuff like that.

00:06:42 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 2:

I don't trust her and I don't trust a pilot that doesn't have enough hours to be flying in that plane. I think that's crazy that they would allow that to happen.

00:06:49 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

So Miley Cyrus lost an early bid to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses her of copying Bruno Mars' song When I Was Your Man for her number one song, Flowers. Tempo Music Investments said it owns a share of the copyright in Bruno's song. And I mean, I feel like this has been in the dirty for two or three years. To be fair, Bruno Mars is not listed anywhere on this lawsuit. This is simply the company that has acquired part of the copyright. right? But they're saying they're thrilled, but not the least bit surprised by the judge's decision. Flowers has over a billion streams, one song of the year at the Grammys back in 2024. Jay-Z and Beyonce may be taking some legal action after Kanye West attacked their twins in a rant on X earlier this week. We talked about this yesterday. He was specifically mocking Rumi and Sir's intelligence, their mental capacity, which is not nice about it in a tweet that was deleted then he retweeted tweeted it and then he tweeted an additional something about it so one source telling me they're pissed that yay has spoken out about their kids in such an offensive manner somebody else telling me while they are upset they have no plans on publicly addressing kanye's posts about their kids and lastly a quick update for listeners of channel 955 in the detroit area on that shooting that happened at Corwell Health Troy Beaumont Hospital yesterday morning. We were talking about it during this study. The shooter and the victims were best buddies, worked together in the radiology department at Beaumont. Police said they recently had a falling out. There are lots of rumors as to what that was all about. I don't want to spread any misinformation, so I'm not going to go into it. But the shooter was arrested about two hours later at his home in Macomb. The victim, a 25-year-old man from Troy, he is currently being treated at the hospital for his injuries. He's expected to survive. Police said he was actually able to tell them who shot him.

00:08:46 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 2:

I'm telling you something's going to come out, though, about this more if the news goes after it and figure out what the motive was? Yeah, like what the story is and stuff. I know that the rumors are out there, but somebody's going to find out for sure. The guy's alive, so he should come out and speak when he's all well and just find out why this guy is doing this thing. I felt bad for anybody that worked at that hospital yesterday because the way that they are prepared, just talk about active shooters, they called it an active shooter, but they said that that guy. It was targeted. It was a targeted thing, and they believe that he also was not there for, like he shot and then ran, so he was gone the whole time. So the whole time that they're looking for the shooter, everybody's freaking out. I watched one of the reports that was on Channel 7 yesterday on their Instagram, and the lady was in getting her mammogram. and she's laying on the table getting her mammogram and all of a sudden over the overhead it said active shooter, active shooter and the person giving the mammogram said yeah we do training for this so this might be one of those training things let me go check, ran out in the hallway to go ask and then said no this is not, we gotta go

00:09:54 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 3:

I'd be so scared

00:09:55 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

you're there with that gown on that doesn't cover your ass

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 5:

I don't know, man. It could just be a me thing, but I think we got to properly define these situations. Because when I hear active shooter, I think of something totally different than one guy shot a guy.

00:10:12 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 3:

But they didn't know that at the time.

00:10:13 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 5:

Yes. You guys want to know the songs that were the biggest songs?

00:10:17 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Shannon got more talk.

00:10:17 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 5:

Are you done?

00:10:18 - 00:10:19 | Speaker 3:

No, I was actually done.

00:10:19 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 5:

What were you going to do? Were you going to say goodbye? Yeah. Well, let me do the songs first, and then you can say goodbye. Just hit the button. Do you know the top five songs? They are the top five songs. Billboard's Hot 100 charts this week. Number five. Kendrick, TV off.

00:10:42 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 6:

I get on it. Yeah, somebody got a do it. I mean, man. Yeah, somebody got a do it. I take a G-Pag. Watch, do it. We survived outside off from the music.

00:10:51 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 7:

Whoa. Hey, turn this TV off. Ain't with my type of activities, but don't you get involved.

00:10:56 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 5:

The number four song still on here, Taboozie.

00:11:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 7:

I'm still not sick of that.

00:11:01 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 5:

You love it, huh? Number three song, another song are you sick of? No or no?

00:11:13 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 1:

Kendrick?

00:11:18 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 5:

Number two song, are you sick of this one yet? I feel like it's the same songs. I feel like these are the same songs from, like, September or something. Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Die with a Smile, number two song in the country. And the number one song in the country is... Luther. Is this a song about Luther Vandross? No, it's the sample, though. Is it? Because I was wondering about that because I heard that. I'm like, that's Luther Vandross. So why did he call it Luther? Just because of that sample? I like it. What are your thoughts? We need new music. Give us some new music. Not that these songs are bad.

00:12:21 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 3:

No. No, they're great. Switch it up a little bit.

00:12:24 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 5:
