Let's get a look at the last dirty of the morning. Shannon, what is going on in the dirty?

Well, among the celebrities who have lost their homes in these wildfires that are happening in California, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Mandy Moore, as of this morning, the three fires have led to the evacuation of more than 130,000 residents, another half a million people without power. The L.A. County Fire Chief also reporting that five people have lost their lives and more than 2,000 structures have been destroyed. And just, it's horrifying. It's terrifying to watch the videos of what is happening.

The wildfire emergency in Southern California showing no signs of slowing overnight. There's a new fire right there that's grown pretty quickly and is now getting closer to Runyon Canyon. A new fire erupting in the Hollywood Hills, marching toward iconic landmarks. Plenty of those embers are coming down on top of us. This palm tree outside a Hollywood home catching fire. Neighbors jumping into action, grabbing a ladder and hose to save that house. The balcony was on fire, and I went around the back to grab the garden hose. And luckily, they had the ring camera as well, and they were like, hello, what are you doing? And I'm like, your house is on fire. I'm trying to save it. So they were grateful. Firefighters protecting this apartment, spraying water on the raging flames. And dropping water from above. The roads around Hollywood gridlocked as people scramble to escape.

You have a whole lot of people in these cars, especially, coming down from the Hollywood Hills, trying to get as far away from this fire as possible, in addition to the folks who live in the many apartment buildings right here off of Franklin and Hollywood.

We've been watching firefighters work on this house for hours now. It looks like they're going to lose this battle. And I want you to see something. Normally, you would not have been able to see the Pacific Ocean from here. There would be a line of very impressive-looking seaside homes.

they're now all gone. Eaton fire exploding to more than 15,000 acres in just 24 hours. Flames marching down the mountains into densely packed communities, killing at least five people. The full scope of the damage may be unknown for days. An early estimate predicts $10 billion in insured losses. The Los Angeles Fire Department budget last year was cut by more than $17 million. In a memo last month, the fire chief said a reduction in overtime has severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires.

um it's unreal to see the devastation and it's even more unreal when you look on a map and see how widespread the fires are popping up like it's really interesting and then there's been some people that have been on tiktok and some uh conspiracy-ish people thinking that some fires are being started on purpose that there are people that are out starting fires while this fire is going on, which would be, that would be horrific if

somebody's actually doing this on purpose and it's not that it just started off one fire affect you because because a lot of people are saying there's no way that the there's no way that ash could just like go from literally i'm thinking from here to toledo you know what i mean like it's just crazy the uh the vast area that is getting uh caught up in these fires right now saw an interview with
