Mojo in the Morning, Mojo, Shannon, Megan, Kev, Lydia, Zach with us this morning. And we got a lot of stuff to talk about today. Shannon, and the thing that you have to be careful of saying when somebody comes up to you in a bar and asks you what, Shannon?

00:01:50 - 00:03:23 | Speaker 4:

Are you single? so if somebody came up to those of us on the show who are in a relationship and you were like you know talking to somebody at a bar or restaurant or just out in general and then somewhere in the conversation they said hey hey kev are you are you single what would be your response like no i got a girl okay so wes asked me no i got a girl wes asked me that question he's like somebody comes up to you you're talking you know whatever's making conversation and then they said wait wait a second are you single what what would you say Shan and I was like I think I would say oh gosh no I'm so sorry I'm flattered but I'm married and he watched this video I think he watched it on TikTok and he's like you're wrong that's not that's not what you say you are supposed to very firmly answer with one word no and the reason is if your response is not a simple no you're opening yourself up to a threat and this video and i he was trying to find it last night for me because we were talking about this and he couldn't find it but um the video said something like most people start their response by saying i'm sorry which i would because i i apologize for everything i don't know why it's the worst habit um like i'm sorry i'm married or i'm sorry i have a you know a boyfriend or a husband or whatever and you should never have to apologize for being in a relationship anything other than no including i'm sorry opens discussion up for a follow-up question and then more discussion and then a follow-up it's supposed to be no and that's it

00:03:23 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 3:

interesting very interesting because now i'm thinking about what i just said no i got a girl that allows the question that you can start asking questions how long have you been together

00:03:33 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 4:

why is she just your girl what like you want a guy you know all those things i never even realized And I was talking to, I think, I can't remember, Mike, I think it was you and Allie. And I said to Allie, I was like, just test it. Ask Wes, are you single? He has gotten so crazy about it. He's like, no!

00:03:53 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 5:

You will back up from him.

00:03:55 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 7:

He's not going to screw this up.

00:03:56 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 5:

So I did this to Wes, and the way he screamed in my face, I was like, I feel like I have enough of your DNA from the OCV to clone you.

00:04:06 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but isn't that, Andrew, like, you don't think about that. And especially, like, I feel like a lot of women do the, oh, thank you, but no, I'm sorry. I'm married. Why do we do that?

00:04:18 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 5:

I don't know. I don't know. And I thought it was really funny that on one of your Instagram posts, because I knew the two of you did this, I commented, oh, damn, girl, you single. And our listeners were like, that is so disrespectful. And I was just waiting for Shannon to put it all caps. No.

00:04:33 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 7:

i always ask when somebody says are you single i say who's asking and then then i no but it is it is interesting that we apologize for being in a relationship uh which is kind of weird that that's like our first psychological thing to do like like we're supposed to be shamed of that but i thought it was apologizing for making the person

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

feel like

00:05:00 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 4:

Like they put themselves out there and you're apologizing because they're taken or whatever. I guess, no, I think you're right. I think that might be why we do it. But the other one, too, is it seems really aggressive to go no. That makes me feel like I need to apologize after my no.

00:05:17 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 1:

Right.

00:05:18 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 4:

You know?

00:05:19 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 1:

Right. Yes, absolutely.

00:05:20 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 4:

And as far as the whole follow-up question thing, like, the follow-up question thing only gets followed up if it looks like your body language shows that you're not happy being in a relationship. Agreed. Like, if you say, like, if Kev says, no, I got a girl, but he says, you know, no, I got a girl, like, no, I got a girl, and yeah, I'm very happy, or no, I got a girl, but hey, she ain't here right now. You know what I mean? I got a girl. I got a girl. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. The text is 95500. Just with this in mind, I'd like to ask you guys to call us up and tell us if you've ever been put in a position like this. where you've been out and somebody will come up to you and ask you if you're single or if you're in a relationship and see if this has ever been something that has ever gotten you in trouble or near trouble.

00:06:26 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

I'll tell you a story. Are you sure you want to tell the story? I love Kev's story. Yeah, this is older kids. This is years ago. And this wasn't like a fun story. Like an attractive woman came up and asked me And I said, this is a story where I like the person I was with was so embarrassed. So this lady wanted me to emcee her wedding and she had a circus theme like wedding and she wanted me to be like her ringmaster. She it was crazy. It was somewhere in Pontiac. They had like twirly ladies from the sky, fire breathers, swallow swords. It was wild. It was crazy. So she wants to take me out to dinner with my girlfriend, quote unquote girlfriend, and with her future husband so they can meet us and we can talk. the lady says well how long have you guys been together and i'm like well you're not together it literally crushed her she didn't say i don't even know like i thought you were together you were i guess but i really wasn't in it for real like but at the point we had been together for like two years it was like it was a while but i know it was the worst thing i've ever done in my like it was it was terrible and was that it after that day no we still messed around yeah

00:07:41 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

by the way we still messed around with you after that i'm like i i like to i like sherelle to know that he's always been a fool like this yes um hayley what's going on it's mojo in the morning

00:07:58 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 2:

how are you hi so um my now ex-husband and i were at a bar and he was getting us drinks and a guy walked up to me and asked if I was with that guy and I was like yeah, you know, that's my husband. He goes, oh, well, is it serious? And I was so off-put and I was like uh, yeah. That's the whole purpose of being married

00:08:19 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 4:

I guess. You can't pause on that though. You can't give an ah to that.

00:08:24 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 1:

What a bold follow-up. Is it serious? Are you happy?

00:08:29 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 4:

Jodi, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. How are you?

00:08:33 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, If you just meet someone and you've had a conversation and they're asking you, are you single? I mean, that's pretty pretentious to believe that it's because they're interested in you.

00:08:45 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 4:

Why would they ask that question, though? Why does it matter?

00:08:49 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

Just as a matter of, you know, getting to know you.

00:08:54 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 4:

I mean, that'd be like them saying, do you have a good job? Like, as you know, I mean, usually they're asking you, are you single? they're inquisitive of what your relationship status is it just seems it just seems weird that

00:09:06 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 1:

if you sit if someone asks you are you single you go oh no i'm sorry i if you're single you are if you're not you're not you wouldn't have to like apologize but but if you're in a uh a bar and

00:09:22 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 4:

you're just hanging out why would that even be one of the questions that they would care for unless it was that you were being... They wanted that answer

00:09:30 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 1:

for a reason. Yeah. Yeah, I guess.

00:09:36 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

By the way, question for you, Jodi. Yes. Are you single?

00:09:43 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 1:

Who? Who's asking? Yeah, see? I knew it.

00:09:49 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 4:

Aaron, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning. Hi, Aaron. Hey, Mojo. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. What's going on? Hey, Ron.
